Ms Tamika has some good ideas. I haven't been so good at this lately, but when i first did this and succeeded i took a bit of pride in having control in a social situation. I knew everyone knew i dropped 35 pounds, and it felt good to enjoy my food and not be thinking in my head "their wondering why i'm eating ____, and i'm going to feel awful after i eat it , and i'll regret it the rest of the day. etc etc" . Lots of positive talk in my head. ( thank God they couldn't hear me). The big thing i have to remember (like you missy!), is i'm in charge of what goes in my mouth. No one else. Gotta get it together.........(sometimes easier said than done.)

Although we still have food delivered daily full lunch including cookies and brownies I also had a box of oreo cookies and M&M delivered to me personally for our group Talk about TEMPTATION!

Behaviors is the key though, God gave us a choice... Continue to explore ways to modify your behavior and think outside the box. For example, make a commitment to someone in your life if you eat something off plan (define your plan specifically) then you have to give them $20. That amount hurts the pocketbook enough to modify behavior let me tell you.

My girlfriend was working on not overeating at meals. She sent me $50 everytime she over ate. I got 4 checks and after 4 penalties she learned her lesson. She is doing so good with not overeating.

Just a thought.

No matter what I believe in you and your beautiful spirit I know you will work it out.
Thank you ! You would think I could get the behavior thing under control being a social worker and all but it is hard. I thought the $10 a month for the challenge at work would motivate me but I am still trying to get back into the stride I was in before. You are right about defining and being specific about my WOE. I really need to decide on one and stop doing my own thing.

Are you kidding me! I'm a psych major and I'm as wacky as they come! I plan to get it together when I'm dead, then I can be sure I won't keep doing the same stuff wrong

There is no absolutely right way to do this except the one that works for you. Was what you were doing before working for you long term? If not modify and tweek it until it does. You got this Nkechi you're just catching your breath right now.

Hi girls! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was okay but...

Mr. C and I have officially called it quits and decided to be just friends . We had a long talk last night and I think it is for the best. I told him that I would still consult with him on the nonprofit and his other business venture but I am not interested because we both have a lot we need to work on individually before embarking on a long term relationship (marriage). I am kinda sad and I want to call him already but I know that will just make it harder on both of us .

Changing the subject, I have had an awful eating weekend . It started on Friday when I didn't eat anything all day and ended up eating chinese for dinner that evening and went to the movies and had popcorn. On Saturday I went to Ryan's and then was back again for breakfast on Sunday after church. I ended Sunday on a high note with a trip to the state fair. After that weekend I don't think I have the desire to eat much of anything.

Affirmation of the week :

Have faith in GOD!

I am sure it will. This is the first time this month that I don't have a training class all week so I am really taking it easy.

You know I just realized today that I am beginning PMS again. I am so glad I have an appointment in a couple of weeks because I need to make some serious changes to my medication. I want him to increase it and I was thinking about telling him I was TTC just so he would but that would be dishonest and I don't want to miss my blessing when I do start trying. I just don't like the cramping that I am having when I ovulate. Hope he can do something besides BC because I don't want to take that road again, especially since I'm over 35 now...

I was praying this morning and I realized how hard it is to REALLY give things over to God. I mean, I pray and believe but have to keep reminding myself that I only have to ask and according to His word it "shall be given." I just have to remember to keep thanking Him until I see the manifestation instead of trying to figure everything out. It is not meant for us to know everything. We sometimes have to take that things for what they are and leave it at that.

You're right, it is hard to give control to God, we are just so used to doing for ourselves, for our own needs.

I hope you have a great day! I'll seen you on the challenge thread.

My new love...

I have a confession to make . I've been cheating on my Diet Lipton Green Tea and now I am seeing my new love...Coke Zero !

They taste better than regular diet coke. I know I need to be concentrating on water (and I am) but I just can't shake this thing I have for drinking sweet drinks with my food. Of course everyone knows that my first love is sweet tea and I can't seem to replicate it well with splenda. Although the green tea is a good alternative, I sometimes want the carbination of a soda and my Coke Zero is IT.

As I am typing this I realize I am starting to sound like a commercial so I am stopping now . I know some of you out there would say that sodas are not good for you but I just can't give up the frankenfoods. Maybe I will someday I will but not right now...I love CZ too much !

Confession Time

Hello everybody!

Yesterday it happened again...I was just finishing up lunch and my co-worker came over and invited me over to her office. When I got there she had the most beautiful red velvet cake I have ever seen. She said that she had it baked by this lady that won 1st place at the state fair with the recipe. Of course I just had to taste it ! It was SO good but there I was again...off the wagon.

I need to be more disciplined. Today I had a craving for fried chicken so that was what I had for lunch. My hormones have me so hungry. I have been slack on my meds but that should have decreased the hormone responses not INCREASE them .

I need to get back on the ball. I saw the results of this lady that just finished BFL on another thread and they were amazing. I am motivated to do it now. Should I start on Monday?

Why not give it a try, if it's not unhealthy you'll at least figure out if it works or not. If it works you know we'll all be begging you for the details. (was the cake reallllllly good?)

Did you try the one minute chocolate cake? It's actually really good. I'd like to make one now but i'm out of twin. All i have is stevia, and i just don't think that will taste very good.

After not talking to Mr. C for a couple of days I got a call today and we are planning to have a talk tonight to clear the air. His birthday is Sunday and we had planned to do something special but...we will talk tonight and I will report back on Monday.

Looking forward to the weekend. I haven't felt my best this week so I am glad the weekend is finally here. I had plans to go to a homecoming game but they got canceled. I may go out of town but that's still in the air.

Have a great weekend everybody! Chatcha latta!
