Thanks Tamika for checking up on me. I have been busy with work and planning a new business venture with a friend of mine. We are trying to get together a trip to Atlanta to see the Color Purple on tour in August.

Mr. C and I are progressing but we still have our ups and downs. But still all is well.

The scale is the devil!

I saw this new diet in Women's World a few weeks ago called 10 Years Thinner. Really interested and it is not strictly low carb but it is lower carbs especially in the beginning phase. Going to do more research on it right now...

Mr. C and I had a big blow up last night (sigh). It was the first time I let the sister girl out and it all started over burnt barbeque To make a long story short, I yelled at him and told him he makes stupid decisions. I know I crossed the line because I had been holding some things in for a while that I should have discussed with him before letting it get out of hand. When he gets upset with me he will usually send me a text about a mile long. I took the chicken way out and texted him an apology around 10pm but I haven't heard from him since...

Eating is not good but I am taking my metformin again so maybe I will get it under control soon. PMS has me acting like a BEAST...that's probably why I was so mean to Mr. C.

Thanks Tamika!

Thinks area actually a little better this week. We had another disagreement on Friday but we had a long talk last night and I am hopeful we will get back on track.

10 Years Thinner

I am trying a new diet out and I hope it works. My sister is on it and she LOVES it. It was featured in Women's World a few weeks ago and she went out and got the book. I don't have the book but googled the name and got the basic info for the plan:

Quote:
10 Years Thinner Diet

The Diet – For the next six weeks, follow these six simple guidelines.
For the next six weeks, you can create any meals you like as long as you follow these six simple guidelines. That’s all—there’s no need to count calories or fat grams.

1. Eat protein and fruit and/or vegetables at every meal.
To supply all the amino acids you need to maximize muscle tone, have one of the following: 3 to 4 ounces of skinless poultry, lean beef (sirloin, tenderloin, or roast), or seafood (fresh, frozen, or canned, the latter packed in water; limit albacore tuna to 6 ounces per week because it contains more mercury than other types); or one egg or two to three egg whites. (After you’ve completed the six-week plan, include a variety of vegetarian protein sources in your diet for a broader spectrum of nutrients.) Also, have one serving per meal of any kind of fresh or frozen fruits, vegetables, and/or legumes.

2. Snack on a half-cup of unsalted nuts or seeds plus fresh fruit, twice a day.
Yes, nuts are high in fat and calories. But they’re also great sources of protein, fiber, good fats, and antioxidants (to fight wrinkle-causing inflammation)—and, most importantly, they’ll fill you up. Go for lower-cal nuts like almonds over higher-cal picks like Brazil nuts. If you finish your last meal more than three hours before bedtime, eat a pre-sleep snack as well. Don’t like nuts or seeds? Try 2 tablespoons of organic nut butter instead.

3. Avoid dairy, soy, and grain products for the first three to four weeks.
These are the types of foods most likely to trigger food sensitivities, which may lead to bloating, low energy levels, and dry, unhealthy skin. “Food sensitivities cause a chronic state of low-grade inflammation that can hurt every system in your body, from your heart to your bones to your skin,” Lydon explains.
Beginning with week four, you can add up to 100 calories per meal of dairy or soy products (e.g., 7 ounces of low-fat milk or 4 ounces of tofu). And starting with week five, you can also have up to 100 calories per meal of whole-grain-based foods (such as a slice of multigrain bread, 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1/2 cup of whole-wheat pasta, or 1/3 cup of brown rice), potatoes, or sweet potatoes. If you notice symptoms like bloating after adding any of these foods, cut back again.

4. Cut out processed foods.
It’s best to do without cookies, chips, etc. for the entire six-week plan, and eat them in moderation after that. Why? Processed carbs contribute to inflammation and, thus, aging, Lydon says.

5. Drink 10 to 12 ounces of fluid every time you eat.
Go for water, sparkling water, or iced unsweetened green or herbal tea (add fresh lemon, lime, or berry juice for more flavor) instead of diet sodas. Good news: You can treat yourself to a cup or two of black coffee or tea a day.

6. Pop your vitamins.
Take a daily high-potency multivitamin for overall good health; cold-water fish oil (2 to 3 grams twice a day) to fight inflammation, reduce sun damage, and improve skin; calcium (350 to 500 milligrams twice a day) to build strong bones; and magnesium (200 to 400 milligrams twice a day) to help your body absorb the calcium. Also, be sure your multivitamin contains 5 micrograms of vitamin D to help with calcium absorption.
I will posting to let everyone know how it works out...

Hi Janice!

All is well. Still trying to stick to one plan. Restarting again tomorrow. I want to lose 65 between now and the end of the summer. A very agressive endevour but one that I want to work toward. Wish me luck!

Ten Years Thinner: Day 1

Today I have started cleansing my system and eating according to the Ten Years Thinner guidelines (TYT) and I start weight training again tomorrow.

First thing this morning I took the herbal cleanse along with my first bottle of water and a fish oil supplement. So far this morning I have not had breakfast only drinking water and Chai tea with stevia. I am waiting for the cleansing properties to take effect .

Lunch will be a salad from somewhere (probably Zaxby's) and another water bottle.

Just taking things one day at a time.

Ten Years Thinner: Day 2

Yesterday's Menu (Cheat FREE):
B - Chai Tea w/stevia
L - Turkey Salad w/Ranch Dressing
S - 2 Oranges and Sunflower seeds
D - Steak and Turnip Greens and Waldorf Salad w/Coke Zero

Only managed about 20 oz of water in addition to the tea and coke. Will have to work on that...

I am drinking my 1st bottle of water now and then will have some tea and leftover waldorf salad. Today I am going to workout at the gym at lunch (at least that is the plan).

The egg cream is raw eggs in a shake.
But you don't taste the eggs at all.
This morning I blended 2 eggs , 2 tbsp heavy cream, 2 splenda packs, a dash of cinnamon, and added to a cup of coffee.
Delish.
Make sure your coffee is hot.
You can add different flavors like caramel davinics, SF cocoa etc.
I try not to add alot of other ingredients because I want to stick to the orginal recipe.
Try it.

I am taking a deep cleanse supplement I got from The Vitamin Shoppe. I think it's their version of the Nature's Secret Ultimate Cleanse. You take 2 pills (1 herbal blend and 1 fiber blend) in the morning and in the evening and increase pills until you reach 3 BM's a day (I know...TMI). I've done them in the past and they help with weightloss and cleasing out the system. I figure since I am eating only veggies, fruit, and protein it would be a good time to do it for the next couple of weeks or so.

Confession Time :

I did it again. Ate fries (only a few but 1 is too many) when Mr. C and I went out for chicken. It was not totally on the plan but their chicken is LC because they don't bread their chicken before frying and it is good. Was just going to splurge with just extra cold slaw instead of fries but when I got my order the person that took my order thought I said extra FRIES instead of extra SIDE. I was so pissed but then again I should only be upset with myself. (Long sigh) I guess it's back to the drawing board...

Yesterday's Menu:
Yesterday's Menu (Cheat FREE):
B - Chai Tea w/splenda (could get my mind on stevia)
L - Turkey Salad w/Ranch Dressing
S - Banana and Almonds
D - Crustless Fried Chicken with Cold Slaw...And about 5 French Fries

Only got it 2 bottles of water

I'm Back!!!

I seemed to have taken a break from LCF for a minute but I'm back to try to get my motivation back.

All has been well. Still trying to hustle for that dollar ...This time my hustle is a travel/event business that a friend and I got started a couple of months ago. I know I have so many business dealings out there but I have to do that darn thing. Our plan is to eventually only work for ourselves and be housewifes .

Mr. C and I are doing find. We are taking a big step this week as I am going to meet his daughter this coming Friday. I would be lying if I said I was looking forward to it . We will see how this goes...

I am really concerned about my health and want to really concentrate more on eating healthy than losing weight. I have been on a gaining cycle for about a month now and it HAS TO STOP . I am going to need all of the support I can get if I want to change my life for the healthier. Pray for me LCF .

Affirmation of the day: I CAN do this!!!

Lots of prayers for you as you reach for your center. I know it is tough! I've gained back about 15 of the 30 pounds I lost and I still don't have things quite under control.

Day by day...

Lots of prayers for you!

Things are the same. Taking it one day at a time. Will be checking in daily starting next week. Gonna try something new. Stay tuned...
