Hi Penny, konjac powder is like xanthum gum, I got it when I was going to the weight loss doc but you can get it online wheerever they sell shirataki noodles.
Amber, my son is 10 also and he's a little chubby. I've been teaching him to read labels as well... and sometimes it's hard to find food! lol If it has starch or HFCS, we don't buy it. Off to church then grocery shopping... and then a run! I'm going to break the 5 mile mark today. |

I also made pizza, the crust was made out of cheese. I liked the cheese crust a lot better than the cauliflower (sp? sheesh) crust that others have made.
I didn't work out over the weekend and I'm not sure why... I am going to switch my schedule around though and make Sat my rest day. I used to have it on Friday because that's when I went to the WL doc. Off to run! |

Another 5K down! Beat my last time by more than two minutes! I clocked a 38:18 and there were 4 hills! i'm shocked because I hadn't run in two weeks, I hurt my leg and I almost begged out of this race.

Congrats Lynn! good for you! Gosh I wish I could run! I need to exercise the bad thing about low carb is you lose without a lot of exercise which makes me more complacent!

Don't do that! On Atkins, I lost 111 lbs without exercise and when I started to gain back, I should have started to exercise... and really on the way down. I was that skinny fat they talk about.

I'm getting there, ideally I'd like to lose another 30 lbs. And my arms are a wreck. Only surgery could make them look good, but, I'm not going to worry about it. I will still lift weights and I have some pretty decent guns under all the skin. Do you have a YouFit where you are? That's where I go and it's 10 a month. 20 if you want to be able to go with a guest (guest is free and unlimited). But it's bare bones. Treadmills, weights, elliptical, no classes.

When I went to Texas, I bought a new pair of jeans because my size 16s are looking terribly loose and I had to wear a belt just to keep them up. I was able to buy size 14 and I was worried it was just a fluke.
This weekend, I bought a pair of trouser jeans for a holiday party and they were 14 as well! So there we have it, I wear a 14 pants! |

You're up early!
I am thrilled. When I lost weight with Atkins and I weighed 171, I couldn't wear a 14. The working out has done something. lol |

It does work! don't do Atkins, but Atkins does work great.
Are you getting enough veggies? The exercise will help you not feel tired for sure. On that note, I am getting my lazy butt in the shower. I skipped my morning workout because I want to run on the street and will have to do it after work. I've decided that I can run in the dark. But I can't run in the dark if it's cold. And today, it's dark, cold and wet because it's been raining all weekend and that's far too many negative conditions at once for me. lol |

It is so cold here, flurries all day and whipping wind no way would I consider walking in this, and even my basement is cold to do a tape, LOL Always an excuse, I do follow Atkins induction and I eat veggies at lunch and dinner, I dont remember feeling this tired before, I was sick for weeks and finally took a zpack and am feeling better maybe it is still that in me, I am so sick of being so tired though.

Whoa. insaneness at work. I just finished a week of vacation and I didn't do a whole lot. I worked out (not as much as I should have but I did get in 4 workouts in 7 days, so it's better than nothing).
Today starts the rededication. I was up at 5 to work out, I'm going to come here daily. I had gotten away from coming here but that really keeps me in check. Clean eating, I've been eating too much and I know that nuts are a problem, they always have been, so no nuts. And no wine during the week. Off to get the kiddo up and ready for the Y. |

I like that dress! We aren't going to do New Years but that's ok, we have our anniversary in two weeks and we're going to a Brazilian steakhouse, I'm excited!
You can get that last 5 lbs easily, thats really quick to get it off. I had steak sauce that I shouldn't have on Christmas... it's amazing how awful I felt after. ugh. |

I'm actually not on Atkins, I do low fat and low carb (and no processed foods, it had to come from the ground or an animal, period). BUT! For this evening, I am going to treat myself to the filet mignon wrapped in bacon. And shrimp wrapped in bacon. And pork wrapped in bacon. LOL
I'm honestly more excited about their salad bar because it has asparagus drizzled in truffle oil and other fancy schmancy items!!! |

Ugh, I haven't worked out in 5 days. I have been sick since Sat. I went running on Sat because I still have that run coming up on the 23rd and I was going to do 5 miles but after 1 my chest hurt so I pulled it back to 3.5 but had to walk the last .5 mile. Then Sunday and Monday, I sat in one place on the sofa. I was totally out of it. Went back to work Tuesday and yesterday and I woke up this morning, even got on my gear and my nose won't stop running and I'm coughing. Didn't think that anyone would want to get on a machine after me at the gym. But I SWEAR that I can feel my muscles getting smaller and that I'm a sloth. ugh,.

Amber, I'm so proud of you for joining the gym!
Well, life. She is like a country song at the moment. I won't bore anyone with details except to say that my working out hasn't been as frequent or as intense, my sleeping is bad and I've had too much wine. But that is not the reason for my absence, our laptop caught a virus so my sister loaned me an old one of hers. I'm back on to the gym, I need to figure out a race to run. I didn't get to do the 5 miler over the causeway because of a conversion at work. It's times like these that I wish I was still seeing the weight loss doc because my confidence isn't where it should be, but I know that I can do it on my own. Just wish I had the crutch. |

Oh, even though life has been nothing but a country song, we did have a couple of highlights!
Our Anniversary (5 years), we went to a Brazilian Steakhouse and if it was at all possible to move in, I would. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And the addition of Raymond to the family (he's 8 mos old, a coworker couldn't keep him) ![]() ![]() |
