I feel great today! Up and going! I am going to run 3.2 miles in preparation of the 5K coming up next week.

I have a very tough week coming up at work, our conversion! bum bum BUM!!!!!! We normally convert 4 clients a year and because the two companies merged, we're brining on 17 tomorrow and 54 in March. We've been gearing up the last 6 months for this and I've been working 60 hours a week (I actually love it, it's exciting to me and I've learned so much!). I just need to make sure that this week I am ON SPOT! I haven't lost any weight in 3 weeks and I blame myself. I had been drinking wine every night because of the stress, my workouts haven't been as intense, I've been grabbing lunch at work (and we all know, even though it's supposed to be low carb, if you're not the one preparing it.... you never know).

This week, today, in fact, I need to cook and have a lunch and breakfast for every day this week. I need to get my arse out of bed at 4:45 and workout, no matter what happens at work. I need to drink my gallon a day and I need to take my vitamins. And I will do it. I am checking in here everyday to talk about it too.

AND! By november 8th, I want to be 180 lbs. I can do that!

I need to repost my pics... they diskapeared.

This was me in high school

Again around 230

This is 184

This is 184, at the local folk fest... and btw, that beer is foul. LOL that's the MGD 64. May as well have been water

AND This is my lowest ever, 171 about 5 years ago.... I'm trying to get to 160 now.

WOW I enjoyed your reading through your journal, being 5'10 it is interesting to see your weight and how you look. I restarted again and with an impending wedding trying to lose. You look super though, you have a lot to be proud of!

Thanks, Amber! I feel awesome.

I used to think that I was large framed when I was bigger and that was just plain old denial. I know now that I'm small framed and tall and I look heavier than others my same height and weight. I'm shooting for a lower goal, actually. I want to get to 160 but I would ultimately like to get to 145-150... I need to see how I look.

I just so want to be under 200 pounds, I have not been that in over 25 years, and reading your posts, I know I have to move my fat arse, I hate to exercise, and that is the biggest problem for me. It is so motivating to see what clean eating and exercising can do.

I didn't like exercise... actually, I was known for hating it but still losing it. But this time around, my shape has changed, I've got muscles I never knew existed and that's what motivates me to keep doing it.

thanks everyone! People rarely post in here, so It was nice to have special guest stars!

Ah, it's been a while. I've been working like an insane person at work, last week, I got in about 67 hours. And then, I've started to see a therapist. I told him that I've got stuff to work on and I want to work on not eating my feelings away. He's super fit and was glad to hear that I'm running and told me to keep it up. He said based on my schedule at work and what's going on with my son, the exercise is probably the reason I'm not on anxiety meds. So on that note! lol I keep it up.

On Halloween I ran a 5K. I was dressed as Wonder Woman (it was just a t-shirt). It was pitch black when we started!!! I was so nervous. I went to the back like the slower ones were instructed and I'm next to these guys and they are saying, "Oh God, I'm sooo slow, dude. I can only run a 10 minute mile." Well, that made me more nervous. The adrenaline was pumping. The horn went off, I started to jog very slowly because there were so many people, I stomped on the mat to make sure my chip registered and then, I went on the outside to pass people! I was passing people!

For the first mile, there were a few people who were using me as a pacer and if I passed them, they started jogging again and passed me. And then, right at a mile, a good song came on that I loved and I left them all behind. Same thing happened at 2 miles.

Right at the end, I could see the finish line, a slow song popped on my player and I was fiddling with the MP3 player. I finised at 40:22... had I not fiddled, I would have done it in under 40, which is what I wanted. But hell, it was 8 minutes faster than my last one and I jogged the whole way!!!

I have another one coming up in December in Nacogdoches, TX, the Jingle Bell run, that should be interesting... they actually have inclines (the nice thing about running in FL... we have NO hills!). And then! The people that sponsored the last race that I ran, it's an organization, the Gulf Coast Athletic something or other and they have races every month on the different beaches in the area. For January, I'm doing their Clearwater 5 mile run which is over the "majestic Clearwater Causeway". lol That should be different. That will be a hill. Two times because you have to go over, turn around and come back.

So that's my next fitness goal. By January, I have to be prepared to run 5 miles. I think I can do it because with this last 5 K, when I hit the finish line it was easy... I could have done more. I am going to up my distance by 10% a week. Wish me luck!

I haven't lost any weight in 4 weeks. I guess that's a stall... I am losing inches because pants that didn't fit 4 weeks ago fit and the ones that just fit are now loose. Would be nice to see a 179 though! I haven't been as stringent on the eating and I wonder if that's it ? I used to weigh every morsel and I don't anymore... I weigh some and not others. To be honest, with the stress at work, I'm really glad to not be gaining.

Lynn:
You ran in wonder woman wear???? You are my idol!!

I said when my fat a** can pork into a sexy wonder woman costume I am wearing it every where! My aunt always says God didn't make me skinny cause I would have been a stripper, or a prostitute, LOL.

Seriously, congrats on the run, that is fabulous, you did great! Beating your time by 8 minutes is a big achievement! Sounds like work is difficult now, but hope you can stay focused, you have so much to be proud of!

I lost track of threads so was glad to see you posted!

Keep up the awesome work!

I got under 280 finally! 5 weeks, 21 pounds, now to get to 269.

Awesome job, Amber! You're moving along quickly!

I don't have pics yet, I didn't wear a costume so to speak, I wore navy running pants and then a Wonder Woman T. A friend was going to run with me and be bat girl, but she overslept and didn't make it. And when I get to goal... if I'm trim and fit.... I'm applying for a part time gig at hooters! LOL

New wrinkle, BF totally blindsides me today at work suggesting a trip to Vegas in Jan, I think he wants to get married, I am a little flakey about setting a date, etc, so now I am looking at maybe 10 weeks to gt below 250, and possibly married, LOL. That would be right around 100 pounds lost, but still not as thin as I would like to be, but oh well, he fell in love me fat, so maybe I should just do it. This whole afternoon I have been a wreck!

Youhave the rest of your lives together to get skinny!

I am looking forward to weigh in tomorrow. My pants are really loose, my waist was at an all time low of 33 inches and hips 41.5 (started at 42 and 56, respectively). The jeans I'm wearing, I can now pull off without undoing them. So, we shall see. Maybe I broke this stall.

Ever since the 5k, I've busted loose of the mental hold that I had. It scares me a little and I don't know why... maybe because if I go to far, I can't turn back ever... and that's scary. Falling off the wagon and giving up is a pattern in my life. This morning, I ran 4.94 miles (so close to 5, but I don't know how far I've gone until I get home and plot it) and I mean... what's next?! a 10K. Then a 1/2 marathon... then a marathon... maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.

I had my cheat day over the weekend, Chinese food for my mom's birthday, it was planned. God, it messes up my stomach... and there are no more cheats until January. So I'm on protein only through Thursday. I have made taco meat, chicken breast and deviled eggs and mmm mmm the deviled eggs are delish! I use that Vietnamese hot sauce and chives.

Tomorrow is cross ramp day and then Thursday is a run... I'm going to go either the same or do a 4 mile run, I don't want to push too hard and kill myself. My knees are a little sore right now, but not immobile sore.

Thursday after work I am also going shopping for winter workout gear. I was not at all prepared for this stuff! This morning was 50 degrees and I understand that's not cold for most people but when we have 90 degree weather 9 months out of the year, this is big stuff. WalMart has thermal jackets for $8.00, thermal shirts for $9.00, running pants for $11.00 and head bands that cover the ears for $9.00. I have a run in Nacogdoches, TX on 12/3, a run here on 11/21 and then a big run on 1/23. BIG run, up a causeway and back.

I figured it out! How to make a casserole!

I had these low carb recipes for casseroles and then I see they call for cream or mushroom or cream of chicken, which, I'm sorry. It's not LC. It isn't. Not for me anyway. You look at those ingredients and numero dos is modified corn starch or something. Part of what I'm doing here is to be LC and processed food free. Not always easy, but I don't want chemicals in me.

So... I experimented. I took 1/2 c Unsweetened Almond milk, 1 tsp konjac powder and tsp onion soup mix and voilá! It worked! I made a chicken and brocolli casserole that May couldn't stop eating.

I agree. The ingredients in cream of mushroom/chicken soup are funky and not LC. Your casserole sounds yummy. Is konjac powder a seasoning? (too lazy to google)

My son is 10 and is really trying to help me so we started looking at his food, like I had applesauce for him that was all natural, and the first ingredient was high fructose corn syrup, I was shocked. And yogurt man that stuff is loaded with sugar. He is built super but me and his Dad are both overweight so I want to be a little more careful with what he eats as well, there is no need for that stuff. Of course between my coffee and liquid splenda I am jacked on preservatives and caffeine.
