Fearless Sunflower's Lo-Carb Journey

Starting this journal today, 6:26pm.

Meals today:

B - Missed it because I had to leave too early = 0 Carbs
L - Hamburger "Helper" - 14 Carbs
D - BBQ Chicken with Garlic, SF Jello - 2 carbs

Was Dark Purple Ketosis until 6pm. Then went swimming for 1 hour, swamp laps. Came home and retested, back to negative. GRRR!

Weight - Can't weigh on the weekends, I'm going by the medical scale at work.

Will attempt not to get frustrated about the ketosis. It was a lot of carbs all at once after not eating all day. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be back to atleast pink

Ok. Weight loss for this week is 3.5 lbs. I should be happy with this, but My personal goal was 5. Guess I really can't complain considering the day before I started Induction I completely scarfed a pizza buffet. My goal for atkins all the way weigh-in on Wednesday is 5 lbs from last wednesday. I dont think I am going to make it... but today I am at my all time low~ 24.5 lbs until I'm under 200. I can't remember the last time I was under 200. I think I was 180 Freshman year in highschool, but I know I was 210 by Sophomore year. So, I am only 14.5 lbs from the lowest weight I remember "for sure".

I'm just not patient. I need to learn this virtue. TOM is this weekend... and I feel all puffy. Lovely.

Hmmm... Yeah. Medical Issues resolved. I gained back what I had lost the past two weeks, so I'm restarting as of yesterday!

Yesterday:
Egg Quiche
2 Carb Free Hotdogs
Scrambed Egg

Today:
Egg Quiche for Breakfast
Chicken Breast with some hot sauce and mayo for Lunch
Dinner: Chicken Breast skillet fried in a tbs Olive Oil, 2 tablespoons salsa, with one ounce of cheddar cheese. 1/2 Cup broccolli. It smelled amazing, and I couldnt eat it. Getting that aweful nauseated feeling. I'm going to resist the urge to buy ketostix for a while. I tend to obsess over them.

Weight yesterday was 228.5
Today was 225.5.

Down 3 lbs. Its a good start. I'm trying to follow Atkins 72 as close as possible, and plan to stay on Induction level for quite a while. I would like to lose about 80 more pounds. Maybe 75. Seems like so very much weight to loss. I'm fairly young, and I am hoping I can get this weight off before my skin permantly sags beyond hope.

I'll try to post my menus and weight every day. I also keep track of my weight on Fitday, but I hate adding the foods there, it takes forever! If I stall, I will try to figure out what is causing it.

So, that is my story

Today I am 221.5! that is a 7 lbs loss in three days. That rocks. I know it will slow down, and that at least most of that is water weight, but I don't care! Its off, and I am going to do my best to keep it from ever coming back.

Meals Today:
Breakfast: about 2 oz Chicken Breast, (From dinner last night that I couldnt eat), and 1/4 cup of Broccoli.

Lunch: I think I am going to make some chicken wings, with Garlic Mustard and Hot sauce.

Dinner: Not sure yet... But I am going to make some jello this afternoon, so I might have some of that for dinner.

I got lazy, for lunch I just microwaved the egg quiche. Still a good choice, just not what I had planned on.

I've got diarrhea! What is up with that? I am thankful that I am working from home today, I don't normally get to do that. I have IBS, but this is weird. I'm not having cramps, I don't feel bad, but I'm pooing water. Yuck! But, It will probably make the scale happy tomorrow. Gotta make this a positive thing

Ok, so I had the two mini quiches for lunch, and for dinner today, we BBQ (KC Masterpiece Low Carb Sauce mixed with Mayo is really good for grilling). I had one hamburger patty, and one hotdog, and I am stuffed. I love this appetite suppression! DH is eating the last of the corn casserole I made this weekend, so that won't be in the fridge anymore, so I wont have to look at it, because I really do like corn casserole~!

I just feel kinda "blah". For now, I am not buying any more Ketostix. I obsess over them. As long as the scale is trending downward, I dont need to obsess about the stix.

So, I will weigh tomorrow and post it here, and in my signature. I can't weigh on the weekends, which drives me nuts. I have always been a daily weigher. I have a scale here at home, and it gives me a lower number than the one at work, but I know the one at work is medically accurate, so that is the one I make myself go by.

3rd Day down

Weight today is 220.5. Down one more pound! I know this will slow down, but I am loving this. 10.5 more pounds to the lowest weight I can remember

Woo Hoo!

Breakfast: 1 Egg Quiche
Lunch: 1 hamburger patty, one BBQ Hotdog with 1 tbs Mayo, 1 tps LC BBQ sauce mixed together. 1 cup SF Jello. I shouldnt have eaten the Jello. Now I feel Yucky!

Plan for dinner: I'm going to try to make egg drop soup. But I have kickboxing tonight, so I might feel sick after that, and if I do, I'll just eat some string cheese and water.

You're doing great! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for visiting my journal.

I like the pig. Is he yours? Do you live on a farm? I live in town. Small city lots. I keep filling it with flowers and pretty soon I won't have any grass left.

Update:

Friday Night, golfed. Weight on Friday was 220. I don't weigh on the weekends because I go by the scale at work.

Friday I had about 30 carbs, which is more than I should have had, but I'm not going to stress over it. It was because every 3rd Friday we have a Carry-In with the Golf League. I ate chicken, and meatballs, and estimated carbs. I DID go buy some Ketostix, just to make sure that I had made good choices. Bad thing though, now my fingers are all puffy. Yuck! apparently too much salt. Will work on that

Saturday: Golfed 9 holes, 4.5 miles on the Elliptical.
Sunday: 3.45 miles on the elliptical (would have gone longer, but wanted to get home for the NASCAR race, GO GORDON!)

Will weigh in tomorrow and see how the weekend was.

Well Shi+!

My period came 3 days early! Whats up with that?? I have been regular forever, always start on wednesday or thursday. Now, I started last night. Felt bloated all day, fingers swelled, figured it was because of salt, even though I didnt think I ate much sodium compared to normal.

No loss for the weekend, but I expect to see some results in the next day or two. Scale is still stuck at 220. No gain, and with the unexpected TOM arrival, I guess I can live with that. I'm also constipated. Which, after 5 years of IBS, I am not used to at all. This sucks. Need to drink more water, and I plan to add some lemon juice to it to see if that helps get some more of this water off.

Menu for Today:
Breakfast: Skipped it cause I was nauseated.
Lunch: 2 BBQ Dogs, 1/2 cup of Chicken/Shrimp/Broc Mix
Dinner: Not sure, something with Bacon sounds good.

Today, 218.5. First time I have gotten below 220 in quite a while!

Water weight is decreasing, fingers are not swollen today.

B: Couldn't Eat
L: 1/2 Flat-out, Steam-um, american cheese, LC BBQ sauce
D: Not sure yet... Going to the Y tonight, so probably something quick when I get home. Maybe the other half of my sandwich.

18.5 pounds to go until Minigoal for September! 8.5 more to go for August Mini Goal This time, its going to happen, I won't quit.

Oooohhhh, that sounds good. I'm going to have to try that. We eat a lot of Flat-outs around here. My dh is also doing low-carb with me. He has much less to lose, though. LOL

You are doing so good! I know that you can meet your mid-September goal. My anniversary is at the end of September. I'd really like to be down a lot by then. We can do it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tonights dinner: 1/4 of Flax Savory Bread (i used soy flour instead of flax). 6 meatballs with some pizza sauce.

Should be ok, but since that bread is kinda heavy, I might not show a loss.

I did 5 miles on the elliptical, and 30 minutes of leg weights tonight on the nautilus machines. Havent worked up to Free weights yet.

So, that is all I know for the night, will post tomorrow with my weight and stuff

Damn!

Well, I got pressured into going out to eat with friends on Friday night, even though I had told my DH not to even mention it. I didnt eat many calories, so my 2 lbs gained this weekend is water. I ate a Breaded Tenderloin sandwich, and 6 fries. Pushed the rest of the fries onto DH's plate. Kicked myself out of Ketosis, so I get to go through all that lovely stuff again. So, did not lose over the weekend, but I exercised like a mad woman. It will come back off. But I should have put my foot down on going out. But when the other golfers are all going out to eat, it is hard to not go. We want to be friendly, and feel included.

I can't eat salad, so that wasn't an option. Could have passed on the bun, but the dang sandwich was so expensive that I wanted to eat the roll too! So, meat and eggs for the next few days. Woohoo! (not)

I gotta meet my August goal!
