Jaimie's Journal
Welcome!
I am sooooooo excited to start my very own journal. My very good friends here at LCFriends have really been an inspiration, and with their support and insight, I know this journal will be another great way for me to navigate this LC WOE. Many thanks to Sue, Beth, Candy and Krysta. You inspire me everyday! ![]() I am a 41 year old wife and mom to 3 wonderful kids. I work full time at my kids' Catholic school, and teach dance 2 nights a week. I usually work an early morning shift (4 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.) at Target each summer (since my regular jobs are off during the summer) BUT, this summer I am having foot surgery to have a neuroma removed, so no Target for me. I am following a version of Atkins that I love to call FATKINS. I work on eating highfat/lowcarb/moderate protein. This seems to be working well for me. Please visit often and share your wisdom, I think it is what God wants from each of us, to offer love, caring and support with one another. Peace

Thanks Phil and Beth! So fun to have this spot!
Here is my menu for today: B---Iced Venti Americano with sf caramel and splash of heavy cream L---8 Tyson Buffalo wings with 1 T blue cheese dressing, 1 T CO S?---Another Iced Americano D?---Parm crusted Chix breasts with homemade LC sauce and spaghetti squash for me and Olivia (DD), Dreamfields for the boys. Probably sliced cukes for all and whole wheat garlic toasts for the rest of the family. S?---Maybe either LC homemade PB cup, or CarbSmart Ice Cream Bar The afternoon is just a plan as of now, gotta do some shopping for tonight and Father's Day tomorrow. This has been a week of "endings" as Timothy (DS2) graduated from Kindergarten, and now we are all headed to his last T-Ball game. Boo hoo...my hormones are whacked as it is this week, and now all this ![]() BBL ![]() |

Menu looks good Jaime. Now are you doing Induction or OWL? Make sure you are getting your veggies in there...some salad or LC veggie. I have to watch that LC icecream. Both on portion control and gaining.
Hope you don't have any problems with that!Sounds like a busy day. Have fun. Maybe you will be so busy you won't notice your hormones.![]() |

Good luck to you! I loved my iced coffee from Starbucks w/sf hazelnut syrup and a splash of cream also. It's much lighter & cheaper than an Americano.

I haven't tried the Iced coffee before! I will have to try it. I usually get a Decaf Americano w/ HC, SF vanilla, and 3 splendas. I looked up the carb count though and the Americano has 2 carbs for a Tall. Then add the HC (1 carb?), SFV(0), and 3 splendas (at .8 a piece) you have just over 5 carbs for a tall. It sure does add up!!

Beth,
I am working on the beginnings of OWL. I usually eat 2 salads and some other veggie each day. For some reason, I had to add the sliced cukes today to get some in, hmmmmmmmm. Beth, you should try to have the Americano without the added splenda. I find that if I ask for it with 4 squirts of sf syrup, I don't need any added sweetener. Just an idea if you want to save your carbs. Lisa, I sooooo love the espresso, that when I get a regular iced coffee, I am disappointed. Maybe I should try again. Now, the LC ice cream situation...I am perfectly able to have 1 ice cream bar every now and then, maybe 3 a week if it is hot here...BUT pre-tom...not so easy ![]() I will probably skip one tonight as I have been having MAJOR cravings for something sweet. I may have 5 large strawberries instead. HUGS |

Sounds so divine!!! I so need to order some more decaf k-cups so I could have a bit before bedtime.
We had such a nice day today. Totally neglected the household chores, but played outside with the kids, went to Tim's last T-ball game, took a walk with William, made a delicious dinner with romano cheese crusted chix breast covered with homemade sauce and cheese...just a relaxing day. Tomorrow morning is our last Mass of the season. I always get sooooooo depressed when my singing group takes our summer break. I LOVE singing at Mass, and really miss it when we take some time off. I had my last round of solos last week, but tomorrow we are singing some of my favorites. It will be beautiful and sad. Tomorrow is also the start of the most stressful week of the year for me. I teach dance 2 nights a week, and our annual recital/show is Saturday, June 23. Our dress rehearsal is Friday. I am responsible for 10 classes, my 3 kids and myself...always sends me right over the edge. I have been at the same school for 39 years, and before I had kids, it was my favorite day of the year. Boy, times have changed! I will do my best to stay on an even keel and help to make it a fun and memorable time for my own children...they deserve it ![]() Hopefully, with some help from DD Olivia, I will post some pictures from Timothy's Kindergarten graduation and then will have some from the upcoming recital next week. My computer skills are not the best...so don't hold your breath!! Good night all! Can't wait to catch up with all of you tomorrow. Last edited by Livywilltim-mom : 06-16-2007 at 09:05 PM. |

Happy Father's Day!!
![]() Good Sunday Morning! Dixie and Pattie, thanks so much for stopping by, and jtinker, so glad you were here yesterday too ![]() This journal will be a turning point for me. I just know it. I am up a pound today, but can tell it is all pre-TOM, I will feel sooooooooo relieved when it arrives! Dixie, that avatar ROCKS, you are a riot woman ![]() Getting ready to head to sing at church, here is my planned menu for today: ---Coffee with sf caramel, heavy cream and CO ---Venti Iced Americano with sf syrup, heavy cream and TONS of Ice...it's so hot here today ![]() ---Some kind of salad with a protein and fat ---Grilled shrimp (see my recipe in the fish/seafood section) or if you are interested, I could post it; with grilled marinated chix thighs at my dad's for father's day. I will definitely have the tossed salad there and bring my own Ken's dressing. I don't have a problem passing up the desserts, but I may want to bring a bit of heavy cream to pour over some diet soda?? Hmmmmmmmm?? Hope you all have a spectacular day! PS...even though I am up a pound today, a dress that used to be too small for me, that I am using to check on my shrinking sizes, is only about 1/8 of an inch too tight...I could have easily worn it today!!! YAHOOOOOOOO. In April, I couldn't even close the buttons in the front. I almost wore it today, but I want it to literally hang like it was made for me before I wear it out. Peace |

Sara, thanks so much for stopping by! I read through your whole journal and am so impressed with your accomplishments!
Holly and Candy, so glad you both stopped in Candy, please say your knee is better!!Hope everyone had a nice Father's Day! I stayed on plan today, well sort of...there was far less plan-friendly food available at my dad's than I thought there would be. I was able to have 10 grilled medium size shrimp, 4oz filet mignon, and 1/4 c roasted cauliflower. I completely forgot my Ken's dressing and heavy cream, and the only salad dressing was non-fat...totally full of sugar. There wasn't a LC dessert, or even fruit...and because I forgot my cream, I didn't have coffee or anything after dinner. I am fine with hanging out and not feeling deprived...but I was totally starving when we got home!! Love you all, and I am PRAYING for a loss tomorrow...BUT unless TOM starts, I am just wishin' away ![]() Peace Last edited by Livywilltim-mom : 06-17-2007 at 07:50 PM. |

Jaime it sounds like you did well at your Father's house. It is hard when you are away from home and don't have all your little legal comforts! We are traveling (by plane) in just over a week and I am already panicking a little about not knowing if I will have everything I need and be stuck choosing the better of a bad carb. Hope you see a loss today. Have a blessed week!!

Monday Morning Blues
Monday, again.
I am usually pretty upbeat and positive, but today has really kicked me in the rear I am up another pound, which I know is TOM as "the girls" are swollen and sore...heck, I probably have 1 pound of water in each![]() I eat completely clean, and am able to resist the TOM cravings, but am not rewarded with any losses in 5 days, just gains ![]() This week will test my patience and resolve, so I will take some deep breaths, get some work done here at school, now that it is soooo quiet without the students, and forge ahead. Peace |

Joan, Sue and Beth,
You ladies are so sweet. I have been having a tough day, and here you are, being so encouraging. I hope I can be helpful to you too ![]() Today has been ok, considering that I want to stuff my head in a bag of chips!!! 1 Venti Iced Americano, sf cinnamon dolce syrup and heavy cream 1 T CO 1.5 litres of water so far...2 more to follow while I teach dance tonight 2 all meat hot dogs...no fillers...with mustard 1/4 chix breast with homemade sauce and shredded cheese left over I don't have anymore food planned as I will be working tonight, and usually drink 2 litres of water while I teach. I hope it is an early night. The studio where I teach has an adults only get together at 8pm tonight, and I hope I can skip it to come home early and put my foot up...we shall see?? BBL |
