KyliesMom - Listening to the thinner me!

When people told me that I would gain weight when I quit smoking back in February 2004 - I didn't pay much attention. Now over 3 yrs later I noticed that for each year I quit I gained 10 lbs! I decided a few months ago that if I continued at this rate I would be extremely overweight in no time. Everyone told me that quitting smoking would be the hardest thing I would ever do..... It's harder than stopping cocaine.... which it is really really hard but once I was past 6 months I sailed through unscathed - what I didn't realize is that I was compensating by putting food in my mouth! Now 3 years later I am trying to retrain my brain and body to stop being an overcompensate and just eat to live not live to eat. Not an easy thing to learn - when I was a kid I was made fun of because I was too skinny - who would of thought I would have gone the other way as an adult!

So now I am moving on and trying to listen to the thinner me! My goal is to be a size 8 by 8/26/07 ( my 41st birthday and the day before my daughter goes into 2nd grade)

The day I am starting my journal these are my stats:
Stat's 6/15/07 Weight 158.5*Chest 35.5*Waist 33*Hips 41*Thighs 40*Size 12 Weight Loss Total 3.50 lbs

Today we are going to Sawgrass and I will stay on track! I plan on either a burger hold the bun or a grilled chicken breast w/ a nice salad. My DD is so looking forward to wanna do city - It's great #1 because it's inside and #2 I get to shop afterwards because it's in a mall

So this morning I went to put on my 14 Calvins and the rode up when I walked so I wasn't comfortable so I tried my 12 Levi shorts which are smaller than the 12 levi jeans and they fitI can't believe it. I am finally starting to see some real progress. I am starting to miss sweets so I bought a box of the no sugar free chocoate ice pops which are really good. I plan on keeping it to 1 every other day or so... Too much of a good thing is always BAD! Well I'm off to take DD to Syncro and then to sawgrass so I won't be back online till tomorrow.

Oh and I almost forgot I finally became a Senior member so I can change my Avie to rotate. YEAH

OMG was Saw Grass a shock yesterday! Either I have become soft or that place was nuts 1st there was nowhere to park - I had to go round and round like at Holiday season !...... then once in side Wanna do was so Crowded I paid $36 to get in and my poor daughter only got to do 1 thing This HIGHLY pissed me off So then we go into the mall and it feels like we are being herded like animals through the halls So from now on My daughter will be staying on this coast and we will be staying in our malls - I would much rather deal with the crowds at Busch Gardens than SawGrass anyday!!!

One more thing that annoyed me about my trip.... I stuck to the program and I put on 1 lb I know I'm not suppose to weigh in everyday but since it's my 2nd week and I'm trying to see what I'm doing, I figured it's ok Lesson learned

Note to self do NOT weigh in every day

Since I was getting really tired of eggs every morning I decided to make a muffin recipe.... This is it:

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups almond flour (almond meal)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
4 eggs
1/3 cup water
Sweetener to taste - about 1/3 cup usually works well - liquid preferred(I used the Fructose no carb version since I really don't like the others)

I also added 1/4 tsp of Cinnamon for a little added flavor

PREPARATION:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2) Butter a muffin tin - you can really do it with any size, but I'm assuming a 12-muffin tin.( I used papers easier to take the muffins and go and less cleanup)

3) Mix dry ingredients together well.

4) Add wet ingredients and mix thoroughly (you don't want strings of egg white in there - and you don't have to worry about "tunnels" when you are using almond meal).

5) Put in muffin tins (about 1/2-2/3 full) and bake for about 15 minutes.

Taste Test by me and my DD to follow after done baking

Kim... just wanted to say HI

Also, if you haven't tried the 1-minute muffin from the recipe room, it's pretty good. Although, for induction you might want to be careful with the almond & flax meals as they can slow your losses ...

If you're tired of eggs, have you thought of having something like strawberries & low-carb yogurt? (Dannon makes some good ones that are only 3-carbs per 1/2 cup)...

Also, you can switch it up and have a "lunch" type breakfast too...

Well today has been a VERY long day and it's only 2:30pm..... Sometimes I feel like I just want to pull my hair out! I'm wondering as I am sitting here drinking a diet coke, when will the clock hit 4:30!! I have pretty much stuck to my program today - even though I cheated a little I had some slim Jim's because I was craving something and at least they no Carb. I'm thinking I may have to introduce some wheat products (with at least 4 mg of fiber) back to the diet soon. I'm hoping my tiredness subsides soon also.

I love slim jims when I am shopping.
Just out and about the fat helps me from wantting to buy the sugary stuff.
I hope today will be better!

I have a NEW favorite chicken recipe - I was getting sick of it until last night when I decided to experiment.

1 Boneless chicken breast
1/8 tsp prepared mustard
1/4 tsp of Horseradish( more or less depending on if you like it spicy)
1 piece of Turkey Bacon(or regular if you like)
1 piece of swiss cheese
a dash of Lowery's season salt

Fry the chicken and bacon together in the same no stick pan while cooking on med heat mix the mustard, horseradish and season salt together. When 1/2 through the cooking add to the top of chicken and finish cooking. When not pink take bacon place on top of chicken along with swiss cheese and melt. YUMMY! This has SO MUCH flavor it's wonderful I even brought a piece for lunch!

WTG with setting a goal and having a reward for yourself!!!
And, like Lisa, I've been known to snap-into-a-slim-jim when out shopping to help me get through till the next meal and to avoid all the bad choices out there!!!
