48lbs to lose - sub 4 hour marathon to run

My name is Peter. I am nearly 39 and am 183cm or 6 feet tall.

I successfully low-carbed from 240lbs to 180-185 lbs at the beginning of 2002 and stayed in this range for the next 3.5 years. I was religious in my regime and didn't find it difficult to stick to my own brand of the low-carb rules. By 2003, I was running marathons and ultra-distance mountain runs and I would say I was great shape...then, after three and a half years of being slim, and for no apparent reason, carbs found me.

Two years further on I have packed the weight back on and am 228 lbs fat...I have unsuccessfully tried re-starting my low-carb regime a few times over the past year. I am a very sociable person and travel and entertain a lot, making food intake tough to control. I am also a wine lover and find it tough to cut out alcahol when I go out with friends, colleagues and clients. I am at the stage where I desperately need a new "fat" wardrobe and I really really want to avoid this as it would feel like an acceptance of losing the battle...

So here I am in the early afternoon of "day zero", making this post and trying to approach this time's effort with commitment.

My goal is to get to 180lbs, which is 48lbs to lose. The last time I low-carbed, I lost 14lbs in my first 14 days, and this time I am hoping that my efforts will yield a similar kick-start during the "induction" stage. This doesn't mean I will starve myself, but I am just hoping I will react the same as last time simply by sticking to the rules.

I will weigh in first thing every day and make a post here.
Wieght now:228
First goal:214 (16 June)
Ultimate goal:180 and a sub-four hour marathon before this year end.

Best of luck to all low-carbers!

225.8 this morning, which is 2.2lbs off. 11.8 to go before 6 June, 46.8 total remaining.

Enormous 3 egg, bacon, cheese, cauliflower and spinach omlette last night. Didn't feel hungry.
