I'm a newbie to Low Carb Friends and have found it to be a very supportive place and helps keep me on track, so I wanted to start a weightloss journal. I'll post pictures of my progress, menus when I can and hopefully meet others that are in the same boat as me. Feel free to post comments and words of wisdom/encouragement to keep me going!

I started Atkins back in mid-March/April-ish and so far have lost around 20 pounds. As far as I know, my highest weight was at 182 pounds... I found out at the Dr's. office when I had strep throat back in February and hadn't been eating all week, so it could have been higher! Shortly after starting Atkins, I bought a scale to measure my progress.

Unfortunately, I don't have any REAL before photos because anything unflattering that made me look fat, I would normally delete out of embarrassment. I do have couple pictures that show me at high weights that I thought were good enough to keep at the time...

Sometime in January? I have a carb loaded box of food in my hand!! I could barely button that jacket up then, now it is big on me!

Beginning of May, about a month into Atkins w/ NO exercise.

I've lost about 7 pounds since that last picture was taken and have since been taking weekly pictures in sports bra and booty shorts so I can see all of the little changes that occur... when I get a little more courage and make more progress then I will post them.

The past couple of weeks I have added workouts into my schedule, namely Turbo Jam and Callanetics (which I'm only on hour 1 so far!). I'm hoping this will help me speed up the weightloss progress and tone up before the big day... I'm getting married June 20th over in Hawaii, so I'm trying to lose atleast 10 pounds before then. That will bring me down to 150 pounds. Wish me luck!!

B- LC yogurt + scoop of dr. natura fiber mixed in = 5 net carbs
L- can of tuna + tbs. mayo = 0 net carbs
D- ??? Not sure, haven't planned that far in advance! Some type of salad sounds good though...

I'm going to go drink some H20 and work on my second hour of Callanetics... hopefully I make it all the way through!

Water, water, water!!

Work a long day, no time for exercise or actual cooked meals...

I plan to go on a hike tomorrow since it's my day off and the weather is nice.

The nice weather is gone already!! It's raining out, so I guess I'll stick with my indoor exercise videos instead of having fun in the sun!

B- yogurt + fiber = 5 net carbs
L- tuna = 0 carbs
D- HUGE chef salad = 8 net carbs
S- Extra sugarfree gum = 1 net carb, Tab soda = 1 net carb (it says zero... but the artificial sweetener)

Daily Total= 15 net carbs

I did Ab Jam today. Fun stuff. Oh, and something that hasn't happened in YEARS, literally YEARS happened today...

Somebody called me skinny! That's right, me... skinny. I didn't know what to say, it's something that NEVER happens. This is me after hearing someone say I was skinny: .

That seriously made my day since I haven't heard anything like that since I was 14 or 15 years old!!

Drinks: Water, water, and more water! I'm really working on getting the H20 in...

I finished my 3rd hour of callanetics today! By the end of the hour I am SPENT! Both my mom and my sister want to begin the callanetics workout now too.

I'm so discouraged today though... I've been eating clean, exercising more than ever, I'm in ketosis and I've actually gained weight since the last time I weighed myself! I'm trying so hard to get down to the 150's and it seems like my body is fighting me against it... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Hopefully I'll break past the 160's soon enough, but GAINING?! That's just ridiculous.

I've entered in all sorts of challenges for this month: The June Callenetics challenge, the fit in your tight jeans challenge, etc... hopefully this will motivate me to keep on track because the SCALE sure isn't helping!!
