I just finished off breakfast... Had 3 eggs with 3 strips of turkey bacon... I always eat more the first week on atkins... trying to make sure I am full so I don't cheat and get off plan... I know in a few days, I will not be as hungry and will be able to get back to 1 to 2 eggs in the morning..

I am cooking me a chicken breast, decided to make me some chicken salad to put in the refrigerator to snack on... I brought some of that scandenavian bran crisp bread from netrition... haven't tried it yet, it has 3 carb and 3 fiber, so really its 0 carbs... alot of people eat it on here...

also today I am making some flax muffins and frying me some pork rinds....

I will more then likely be eating some boiled eggs for lunch.... and a bottle water
and for dinner, i am having grilled chicken... Dh wanted some bbq chicken... so that is the way he will have it... the bbq sauce has 14 grams of carbs... so I will be staying clear of it...

Since gas is going up, I have to find a way to make it to the pool 3 times a week, when I go I am planning on staying at least 2 hours and just keep moving while I am in there.... 1 hour of that will be water aerobics... the other, just alot of stretching and some jogging and maybe swim a few laps in the pool.... getting some exercise in a few times a week is really a good thing... makes me feel so much better....

you here yet????

Hi Lisa,

I hope gas prices go back down. It's 3.49 here a gallon. Everything else goes up, like eggs!

Well, today is my new start....re-induction

I have to have my coffee, so I won't be giving that up for induction, but I have cut way back, and will cut down more. I put 1/2 pkg splenda and a splash of half n half in a large mug and that's my cup of java.

Menu
B-coffee, 2 HB eggs, 5 smokie links
L-1 HB egg, 1 oz colby/jack cheese
D-large hamb patty w small salad ??? have to shop

BRB

I have a few flavored coffees too. Also, I got those splenda pkg mocha, hazelnut. They are pretty good in regular coffee. I have that when I want something sweet, or chocolate. It helps take that edge off a craving.

I am very, very bad at not drinking enough water. Do you drink at least 64oz a day? I need to go fill up a water bottle right now!

Do you start induction with pretty much a m/e fast? I got that LC KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce. It's not bad and has just a few carbs. I use it sparingly when I want something BBQ. It's spicy, so a little goes a long way. I'll have to try to get that bran bread. I haven't ordered from Netrition yet. I want too many things to start with.

What kind of flax muffins are you making? I should make some tonight. The last time I made some I put too much flavoring in, or maybe it was the substitute sugar but I didn't like the flavor. They smelled really good, like bananas, but the taste was off.

Are you going to the pool today? I don't belong to a gym, or go to the pool, but I've got to come up with an exercise plan. What are facercizes?

I have never heard of the flavor in pkgs where do you get them? Sounds like something i would like

Faye, I drink 2 water bottles a day, I know its not enough... but I do get at least 16 oz of coffee in a day... Maybe that is something we can encourage each other on.. like a challenge...

I guess I really do pretty much M/E on introduction... it really helps to cut my cravings fast.... the flax muffin i hear are ok on introduction so I am adding them this time... sure will help with constipation....

I am cooking banana and blueberry right now... never tried a blueberry one, thought it sounded good.. we will see... my mom makes one with sf apple cider and a few raisins... she loves it... and it has never stall my db he has loss about 300 lbs...

i have some of the lc bbq sauce, its alittle too spicy for me... i like it sweet

I will be going to the pool this afternoon about 4 and stay until 6.... get my pool time in today....

be back later

Hi Lisa,

How was your nap? Did you end up going to the pool too?

I get the Splenda Flavor sticks at Walmart, and I've seen them at the grocery store too. They have french vanilla, hazelnut, mocha. They cost a little over 3 bucks a box here, but they last me quite a while because I use them more as a treat.

Would you mind giving me your recipe for the muffins? Do you use blueberries? They grow wild in my backyard and I have some in the freezer. I don't have any davinci syrup other than vanilla. I have banana extract. I'd like to try them again, maybe your recipe calls for less sugar substitute.

I'd like a water challange...remind each other to drink our water. I ended up getting busy and forgot, and have just had one small glass so far.

I am sort of on call having to check my work email for a possible conference call for this big exciting announcement and nothing yet. I hope they don't expect us to check it every half hour all night. I have things to do. I have to get out there and cut my grass. My yard looks pathetic! Also, cook dinner. I'm making a big hamb patty and I'll have maybe green beans with it instead of salad. I didn't stop to shop because of having to monitor my email.

How far away do your kids live from you?

Ok, up from my nap... still sleepy.. would probably be sleeping if the dog barking hadn't woke me up... I decided not to go to the pool.. really don't feel good, be so glad when this passes....

Flax Blueberry Muffins

2 cups milled (ground) flax
1 cup nuts (I use walnuts) *Optional
1/2 cup granulated splenda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup walden farm blueberry syrup
1 stick of butter
4 eggs beaten

bake 350 for 15 minutes
Makes 12 muffins. Tastes very similar to real blue berry muffins
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I bet some fresh blueberries would be excellent in this...
Yes a water challenge would be good.. I am terrible at drinking water.... need to get more in....
faye, my son and daughter live about 2 1/2 hours away from me... son lives in southern tennesee and daughter lives in northern alabama.... My dh has a daughter that lives about 15 minutes from us, we never see her.... and a son that lives about 30 minutes away he never see.... and a step daughter that lives about 30 miles from here, haven't seen her in a long long time either....
Goodmorning Faye... Well I made it thur day 1 of introduction... very proud of myself and so glad its over with...
I got a recipe yesterday for some flax bread... the person that gave it to me, said it was good using it like french toast or for making sandwich... He said he loved it with fried eggs, busting the yolk and and letting it soak it up...
here it is:
Three min microwave bread
INGREDIENTS:
1/8 cup almond flour (almond meal)
1/8 cup Ground Flaxseed/Flax meal
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
a "pinch" of bulk splenda
1 Tablespoon butter, melted
1 egg
I make this in a 2 cup microwavable container. You can experiment and use different shaped ones.
METHOD:
Melt butter in microwavable dish. Beat in egg. add dry ingredients. Mix throughly with a fork. Cover cup with glad wrap, cut a small slit in wrap. Microwave on high for about 1 minute 30 secs. Microwaves may vary. Check on it. Do not over cook.
fixing to go and have my first cup of coffee... Do you count that in your water intake?
be back later
Goodmorning,
How are you feeling today? Let's make it day 2, no cheats!
Okay, let's make a pact. Water, lots of water, TODAY. How about we work our way up to 64-80 oz a day and go from there? We could start out at 40-50 oz today, say 5, 8oz glasses. I wonder if you would feel better with more water flushing the toxins out. When you go into ketosis the ketosis flu is probably due to a lot of toxins. Yea, all this and do you think I drink water? Nooo! So, feel free to prod me about the water!
The blueberry muffins sound really good and it is a different recipe than I had for flax muffins, so I'm going to have to get some blueberry syrup. I will try and find some locally. I think I'll leave out the real blueberries right now, until OWL. I know they are lower on the carb index, but I better wait.
I have a 12 yr old who lives with me most of the time, and goes to her Dad's off and on. He lives just 10 miles away. My DS lives with him, he's 19. He works alot so between that and his GF, I don't see him very often. I have two other DD, one is 22, and getting married the end of June. She lives with her fiance just 20 miles away, and the other DD is 28, married, has my 2 Granddaughters, lives 15 miles away and don't see her all that much either. Weekends the kids all get busy with their friends. It seems so much a rat race anymore.
I don't get online much in the evenings either. My DBF doesn't like me to be on when he's home either. Last night we had a quick dinner and we're out doing yard work until almost 9. Tonight, he wants me to go with him to do a couple dock jobs. They are about 100 miles from here. If I can get right out of work at 430, drive 100 miles, install the two docks, drive home, it will probably be 11 or so, and I have to get up at 345. I would rather just stay home and get some stuff done there instead of sitting on the lakeshore, pretty much watching them install a dock, and running for tools from time to time. He likes me along for the ride and I do like to go, just will be really tired. I'm also not sure I can get out of here right at 430.
So, menu for today,
WATER, coffee
B coffee, 2 HB eggs, 5 smokie links
WATER
L- 2 HB eggs, dill pickle, 5 smokie links
WATER
WATER
D-on the run, FastFood, no bun
WATER
Can I count running to the biffy as exercise? I'm going to drown!!
Have a great day!
Faye
thats alot of water no doult you are going to be running to the BR alot...
I was up alot last night, making a BR run....
Ok, I am with you on the water drinking... after I get my two cups of coffee in I will start on the water... I think my bottle waters have 16 oz in them, will have to check... I only drink the Sam's bottle water, its my favorite... and I don't drink any diet soda... except if I am out somewhere and might drink it with a meal or something...
Faye I wish i lived closer to my kids... and grandkids... but even when I lived down the road from them I didn't see them that much... heck my MIL and FIL live next door and I don't usually see them but a couple times a week...
I guess in a way I am kinda of a loner... I like my time by myself... I enjoy going to the pool and talking with the other women there, but I don't do alot of talking...hard to believe, right
Its wonderful having the online friends that i do have... its about the only conversations I have during the day.... dh is busy doing his own thing he loves to work on his race car and I am ok with that... I am glad he does things he enjoys... not to say we don't spend alot of time together... and I enjoy that too.. but, its just nice to have my free time to do what I want with...
My Menu
B-3 egg w/bacon 16 oz coffee w/ cream
L- 3 boiled eggs with 16 oz water
WAter
Water
D- not sure yet and water
water
I am so glad we started this together, its going to be fun to keep each other accountable.... WE CAN DO THIS!
I count only water for water, although I've seen some count mostly all liquids they drink. I count coffee as coffee because I put h/h and a touch of splenda in it, so I count the carbs. I don't drink much soda. Once in a while I have a diet rootbeer or flavored carbonated water 0 carb. I like iced tea in the summer and make mine without sweetener and sometimes a splash of lemon juice.
Do you want to count water as only water, or count all the liquids?
Thanks for the quick bread recipe. Do you make your own almond flour or buy it? I'll have to get some almonds or the meal. I have a similar micro bread, but without the almond flour, just flax. It's kind of like a flax pita. I really have to try this one. I got really tired of the revolution rolls, too eggy.
Ok water for water only... can't hurt, right
I buy my almond flour at Target, its bout $11 for a bag, but it goes along way... I have got to get me some more flax meal, I am surprized it so cheap.... I am wanting to try this bread recipe too... maybe in the morning for breakfast...
I didn't care for the revolution rolls, tried them several ways, did't care for the egg texture either....
You much work at a computer, you were really fast to answer back the last time...
I'm at my computer on and off most of the day. Mornings I'm on most.
We don't have a target here. When I go to a bigger city I look around for LC stuff I can't find here and get it if I have extra money. I've seen so many recipes with Almond flour. Does it give a more bread like texture?
I'm kind of a loner too. My kids live pretty close to me but I don't get together with them that often. We talk on the phone a lot. I have work friends, but don't like to talk too much about personal stuff at work. I like time to myself too, like tonight, would rather go home instead of with DBF, my DD is at her Dad's, so I'd have the house to myself. I have Friday off, DD in school, BF at work, so it's like my day. I know exactly what you mean.
Do you use the golden flax meal or the regular darker kind? I can get dark flax meal, but only the golden seeds and grind them in the coffee grinder. I like the golden better. I use the dark meal for half the flax sometimes.
Did you watch the movie Taladega Nights? I probably spelled it wrong!
I'm also glad we started this together. Accountability Buddies.
I have never seen the golden flax meal... I find flax meal here at walmart, but I think its dark.... I had never used flax meal until I started in January.... Keeps me regular
OK, I am done with my coffee ( 2 cups 16 oz)
Now its time to start drinking some water... I have to go to walmart and get some more water.... I find I drink it better if it comes in a water bottle... I just don't like the way it taste right out of the tap...
I once started a challenge on water on these boards... a long time ago... so I did alot of research on it and its benifits....
I like my water room temperture, but It says it burns more calories if it is cold and people tend to drink it better if they drink it from a straw.... I say people, thats not me... I would rather just sip it out of the bottle...
also putting alitte lemon in it is good, also good for the kidneys... I love warming some and putting alittle lemon in it and a pkg of sweetnlow.... has a good taste to it and seem to help with congestion....
ok, I have got to get up and get ready to go to the pool, going to try and make the 11:00 aerobic class...
will be back later
I get the golden flaxseed at the regular grocery store near the other milled products. It's pretty good.
Talledaga Nights was pretty stupid, but did have a few funny parts. I'm not really fond of the main actor, what's his name? I'm not good with names. He played in Bewitched. I like thriller type movies but not the scary ones, or all the Freddie Kruger, Jason movies.
I don't like my water ice cold, and do drink it at room temp ...mainly because it sits on my desk so long it gets warm. I've had 20 oz so far. I make iced coffee sometimes in the summer. Before LC I used the flavored liquid creamer, but have do a nice strong fresh brew with a bit of heavy cream, a dash of SF chocolate syrup and a dash of vanilla extract and ice of course. With the splenda flavor sticks I can use one of those, ice, and some heavy cream. Sometimes I put it all in the blender, so it's like a smoothie. When I really have the sweet craving I try this too, or drink hot flavored coffee. I'll have to try the hot lemon water for congestion. I've still got this awful cold. My chest has loosened up, but still coughing quite a bit.
How did pool arobics go? Well,,,,have to run....I'm floating, floating!
Lisa,
I'm sorry I haven't posted at all. I did end up going with DBF to do the docks. We got off to a late start, so they could only do one instead of two, which got the DBF in a bad mood. When he's in a bad mood, it puts me in a bad mood. We didn't get home until 1130. I had to get up at 345 to go to work. I was watching them put in the dock and started sneezing, must have been 30 times in a row. Ugh. I was stuffed up, tired, and sorry I went. I got up and went to work, but felt terrible. Sinus headache, my chest is all wheezy. I called to see if I could get into the doc but he was closed. I'm going to call this morning and if he's still closed, I'm going to go to the walk in place. I can't seem to take anything that helps with this. I've taken dayquil, nyquil, sudafed sinus, allergy, benedryl allergy, robatussin, nothing is working at all. My head is so stuffed up, my face around eyes is all puffy. My chest hurts. My ribs hurt from coughing. I'm sick! Whaa! What a cry baby I am. I got completely off plan too. I had bread. I work so hard at it for a couple days and then in a moment of weakness, eat what I shouldn't.
The DBF wants to go camping or do something this weekend but I'm not feeling up for that.
Hey, I did drink water though, 22 oz bottle, 3 of them. That's amazing for me. How are you doing on the water? I try and drink all my water before dinner because I'd be up all night too. I think once you get used to the extra water you don't go quite as often.
What are your plans for the weekend? I have to still get some flowers for my Dad's grave. I usually have that done by now.
Well, I'll be back on in a while. I have to call and see if the doc is in today. Probably not, so I'll end up going to the walk in.
I called the doc's office and much to my surprise he answered the phone. I asked if he was taking appointments and he said no, but asked what the problem was, and who it was, I told him and he's calling in a prescription for me. Wow! I called right at the right time. Now I don't have to sit and wait in that walk in place. I have to run into Wal-mart now, but I am out of everything.
I am going to make sure I have what I need to stay on plan, even if we end up going camping sat night. I have to make a list of stuff.
I'll be back later to check in.
So glad you are back, really missed you...
And so sorry you are feeling bad... do hope the prescription helps out..
Me and dh have no plans this weekend... my mom wanted us to drive up to tennesee to be with them... but more then likely we won't... We allready have to go up there on the 5th of june for his doctors appointment... which is in Huntsville, not too far from where they live.... Gas is so expensive and we just brought his new glasses and eye doctor appointment,so money is tight....
I am ok with not going anywhere... we will probably get some smoked sausage and cook some chicken breast on the grill.... and maybe invite uncle buck over.....
I sent a invite to Thurm, maybe she will show up soon...
so far on water.... NONE.... I am still on my coffee... but really going to try and get in at least 3 bottles today, maybe more... we will see....
will be back later
