Jeez Louisers - I am up four pounds. Rats rats rats
![]() You can't fool the scale. You can't fool yourself actually. I know what I've been doing. And to top if off, I tripped and slipped on a damn rock last night while out walking George and twisted my ankle. It's not bad. I iced it last night and kept it elevated most of the morning. I just showered and am going into work a bit late. Grrr What a clutz! I went down so fast I didn't know what hit me! I have a bit of road rash on my palms from breaking my fall. DBF said I let out a little squeal before hitting the turf. We were just walking along and BAM - down I went. ![]() I am going to continue with IFing, but I am committing to eating cleanly and sticking to a more low carb plan. Who ever said corn on the cob and tater tots were a good thing to eat on a diet? Hmm? lol ![]() Again - onward and downward. I will not change my siggy just yet. I hope to undo some of this damage. <edit> I will change the siggy weight tomorrow. I shouldn't be such a coward. I said I would change it every Friday and I will stick to that.

Ugh and Ugh!
I just don't know what the heck to do anymore. I'm spinning out of control a bit. I'm going to regroup and think this weekend. Go clean and high fat and see how that makes me feel. <sigh> I'm reading all over the boards about interesting approaches, but I can't lie. Some of them are so damn complicated! Totally makes my eyes twitch and my head swim. Ack! ![]() I did print out Fat Fast information and will keep that in my mind. Meanwhile, I'm going to think think think while I'm painting this weekend. |

The weekend held no special enlightenment for me. <sigh>
I pm'd a bit with Twyla today and she really has me thinking. I am making a plan and will be starting Wed of this week. Tomorrow will be a gathering/planning day. Onward and downward! Last edited by DaisyGG; 08-25-2008 at 01:13 PM.. |

For some reason my eyes popped open at 4:00 a.m. Got up around 4:30. That's okay though. I showered, let dear George out, made some coffee, got my bag ready for work, and got on LCF to poke around a bit.
It's storming outside gently. Does that make any sense? I really love listening to the rain. We haven't had much this summer. My poor grass could really use a drink. It really is a lovely sound. I've been doing much thinking the past 48 hours. I am taking my time deciding exactly what to do. I keep expecting fast answers and results. These things take time. Reality check yes? What could be better than rain outside my window, delicious coffee, my dog snoring in his chair, and posting away to purge myself? I love it. Thank you LCF. I like being here. Very little infighting BTW. You just don't see that much. I like that too. |

Rain....Ahhhh, yes. Me too, Daisey. It's a cleansing sound, isn't it? It washes away the clutter from our minds, calms, soothes, renews. Just what you need, right? It's raining here too, and at the moment I'm listening to "Jazz for a Rainy Afternoon," a CD I fell in LOVE with when I first heard it playing softly in the background at an attorney's office. It's a KEEPER! Just wanted to throw this out to ya: You mentioned that things take time. Total truth. To help you not be overwhelmed or grow impatient with progress when it stalls or slows, why don't you look at your weight loss journey one day at a time, and certainly no more than one week at a time. Play mind games with yourself. Think of this endeavor as lasting one week, and draw out a map for your daily goals for this week. e.g., What will I prepare for my meals, snacks? What am I shooting for in terms of calories, carbs? Have I eaten my daily requirement for protein? What are my weekly exercise goals? Line it up, place a box beside each item, and check them off as the week progresses. If a box goes unchecked for a given day, leave a space at the end of that line item for reasons. How were you feeling and/or why did you choose not to do such-n-such. At the end of the week, you will see a big picture of what you set out to do, what you actually accomplished, and which areas you need more structure and commitment. If you keep thinking way far ahead at what your long-term goal is, it can be far too overwhelming. This is life. It's not a race. Make every day count. Listen to the rain. Let it set your pace and cleanse your mind.

Hi Daisy,
Just stopping by to say Sorry you were struggling a bit there, hope you're feeling on track again. I can certainly relate. I go through motivated phases and NOT motivated phases. In the past I have undone months of good work in those not-so-motivated phases ![]() Fight the good fight and never quit. sandy |

So much better - I am on day three of my new plan.
I am sticking with Intermittent Fasting for the time being. Staying away from all sugar, white flour, white rice, potatoes, etc. Keeping carbs around 50-55. Lots of greens and vegis and protein. |

Hey Daisy, so what is your "new plan"? Inquiring minds (atop buff bodies) want to know!
![]() ETA: whoops now I see IF ~ may I ask, what does that mean exactly? ![]() PS: per Barry Groves (Atkins sans Induction) if you keep your daily carbs at 50-60 (and very high fat) ~ you should NOT ever need to be hungry or fast while you lose weight... Weekend Report
Truth be told, the weekend was pretty good overall. Progress - not perfection is my new mantra. I need to stop beating myself up. I'm kinda weird that way - if there is a self-perceived slip I'm *****-slapping myself all over the place. Not good. I feel happy with the weekend. I have no macros to report though. We were in the middle of moving the offices around so puters were off much of the time. |

Kinda funny story . . .
Saturday morning DBF and I went to breakfast with his momma and sister. His momma ordered her breakfast with bacon. They delivered it with sausage. The server said sorry and went to get her bacon. She handed me a couple pieces of the sausage (I was having scrambled eggs with a little cheese and salsa) and right when I had finished half of one of the sausages the server returned with the bacon, but ASKED FOR THE SAUSAGE BACK. We're all like, "Wha?? You need it back?? Why?" Sheepishly I placed the half sausage back on a plate to give to the server. Holy moly. That's Denny's for ya! ![]() |

Monday Sept 8 Report
A very good day. Warriored all day. For supper I had zuke "pasta" with TJs red sauce. I also had some PB off of a spoon. And a bran crisp cracker with a little parm. Very good! Didn't enter it into FD. That has to be my next thing. Accountability and all. I did 20 minutes of my JW DVD. A good beginning. Then I was running up and down stairs in my house doing laundry and such. Not bad. Pants felt looser this morning, but I'm resisting the siren's pull of the scale. Who was it that was saying it sets them up no matter what the scale says??? I bet it was Twyla. I believe this to be true. If I've dropped anything I feel entitled to a treat. If I've gained I feel like "heck! I may as well have a treat." I'm crazy. I feel encouraged! Last edited by DaisyGG; 09-09-2008 at 07:31 AM.. |
