Oh dear lord. I am struggling so much. Every day I get up with new resolve and every day I succumb to sugar. I never used to have issues with sugar! It was salty/crunchy stuff. Now it's sugar sugar sugar.

Accountability! Exercise! Cook delicious stuff for yourself! Don't think of ways to find sugar!

One week seriously staying on plan. I feel very good! In the groove. Made good choices over the weekend. I'm happy today.

I have resisted the lure of the scale all week. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I have had mostly successful week, but did succumb to some chips while watching the Grammys Sunday night.

I did my first night of Callanetics last night! I had half-heartedly tried a while ago, but last night was for real. I used my new ballet bar. It's really hard work! I'm not strong at all. At the end of the DVD my legs were like noodles. I'm looking forward to doing it again Wednesday night.

It's mid-way through the afternoon and my butt muscles are hurting. This is good yes?

I'm actually really looking forward to being able to do it again.

I have to go to San Fran with youngest DD for an apartment search for her (she's moving there in July for her new job) and I would like to be a little smaller and cuter.

I have an ancient callanetics video tape, tried it once, and quit. That stuff is hard. I've heard, though, that it really makes you lean. Good job on the exercise. I should get mine out and try it again.

Oh yes Sue, get it out and we can chart our progress. Our stats are very similar although I'm guessing you are much more fit than I am. My job is very sedentary.

I'll let you know how it's going.

BTW - nice to see you're smiling face!

I'm sorry to laugh, but I'm in such terrible shape. I've never been an athlete; I thought I was chubby (weighed 125) and was afraid to participate in sports. I'll have to dig out that tape. I hope I didn't throw it away. It's from the '80s.

Now you're making me laugh! I thought I was chubby in school too. I think I weighed about 127. Now I know how scrawny I was.

I have the Callanetics DVD and it was filmed in the 80s. The outfits these people have on are very entertaining. Makes me want to break out my leg warmers.

yep, my tape was given to me by a friend, and along with it on the tape is an old Jane Fonda low impact aerobics routine with lots of leg warmers.

My DBF asked me to marry him! Whoo hoo! He is now my DF isn't he? LOL!

He asked my two daughters first. He had them over to his house about an hour before I came over for dinner. He showed them the ring and asked how they felt about it. He's so cute.

Here's the ring. <swoon!>

I am so happy for your Daisy! Congratulations, and may you have many happy years together.

The ring is gorgeous.

How sweet that he had the girls over to show them the ring.

DD#2 and I got back from SF very late last night. The flight (or flights home) were challenging. We were on four different planes. During a stop the plane wouldn't restart so we were herded onto a different plane and our connecting flight waited over a half hour for us. But they lost our luggage. I had bought DF a Tumi kit bag for traveling. Gosh I hope I get that luggage back! It was new luggage too.

We walked all over that town though. Up so many hills I couldn't believe it. Actually I couldn't believe I COULD walk up those hills. I fully expected to have lost a bit of weight from all the exercising and it didn't seem like we were eating much. I wasn't watching carbs at all though. I actually weigh two pounds more! Grr!

My ankles are swollen like mad though. My HRT meds are in my luggage. Oh dear.

I'm here at work, but not getting much done. Can't concentrate!

But I am eating induction today. Actually, I want to eat induction for the next week and see if that will kick start me.

Hopefully I can get hour three of Callanetics in tonight. If I can stay awake! I got about three hours of sleep last night.

I am going to change my signature weight to match my real weight. I need accountability.

1. Weigh and record weight only once a week. Next weigh-in is 3.10.08.
2. Eat induction for seven straight days.
3. Callanetics twice a week. Starting tonight.
4. Make time three times this week for cardio. This means getting to the gym!

Yesterday was a good day! Stayed on plan, drank pretty good water, did a few chores when I got home, and, the best for last, I got my luggage back! Oh happy day!

Yesterday's eats:

B: 2 eggs, pinch of shredded cheese, salsa, scrambled in butter
L: Cobb salad from the deli downstairs; very fresh and delicious
D: Crisped hard salami topped with a smear of sour cream and salsa, a few pork rinds, and a few Parmesan crisps

Not enough protein, but the carbs are good. Kinda high in calories. I feel good about it overall.

Congrats on your good day, Daisy.

You asked in my journal how I got my protein in during the day, so thought I'd answer you here. I usually eat eggs with bacon or 0 carb sausage for breakfast, some sort of leftover meat for lunch, and a regular dinner with beef, poultry or fish. I like to cook extra because both DH and I take eat leftovers for lunch.

Hope you have another successful day.

Thanks Sue! Sometimes it's challenging getting the protein in isn't it? Mostly in the morning for me it is challenging. I do not plan ahead. Or I run out of time to scramble a couple of eggs.

I used to make quiche and that was great to grab on my way out the door. I'd heat it up when I got to work and people would be so jealous smelling the deliciousness of it.

Okay - yesterday was another very good day. I didn't get my exercise in though. I'm still recovering from my trip; getting everything put away, tons of laundry, spending time with my dog (poor thing was missing me pretty bad from what I heard). And last night I was in the kitchen until nearly 8:00 trying to boil a turnip. That's another story! lol

But the eating was good I'm happy to report.

B: Ricotta cheese
L: Cobb salad from deli (again)
S: Burger grilled on my George Forman with chopped onion and feta cheese and and an egg mixed in; zucchini slices dipped in Marie's dressing; a slice of swiss cheese

Yea!

Wow! I feel so good! Another good day. My darling fiancé and I went out to eat at a new restaurant in our neighborhood. It was delicious and such a nice break in the middle of the week. He's a CPA and in the throes of his busiest season so I don't get much time with him right now. He literally works 16-18 hours a day, and about 10 hours a day both Saturday and Sunday. So last night was such a treat really.

The new restaurant was so lovely! Our area is mostly chains or icky sports bars and this place was contemporary and lovely! Lots of wood and tile, lovely lighting, even the bathroom was clean (!!) and modern. I loved it!

So I had a Glenlivet on the rocks and steak fajitas sans the tortillas. DF had a burger on Focaccia bread and frites. I even watched him eat a piece of lava cake with vanilla ice cream while I finished my Scotch. It looked delicious, but I really wasn't tempted.

Yea for me!

Here is yesterday's eating.

I know! That lava cake looked awesome.

I came home though and made myself hot chocolate and sorted through some low-carb recipes and was quite content.

I have jeans on today I couldn't quite sit down in before my trip. For the first time in a long time I'm feeling optimistic. My ankles are even slimmer from all the p-ing I've been doing (TMI!! )
