OMgoodness. My darling girl and I were texting all last night. She has been having continuous braxton hicks-type contractions since midnight of last night. So for over 17 hours. She went to work yesterday! That child!

She lost her "plug" as well. But she was convinced she wasn't going to have him yesterday and she was right! I'm up early and no word from her. I hope she was able to sleep. She finally packed her bag last night at my urging! lolol That child never has a sense of urgency. I kind of envy her for that.

Pup and I are nervous like cats. I slept pretty hard though!

Today might be the day!

We'll see. She woke up this morning with less braxton hicks and went to WORK!!! Oh that girl!

I am more on pins and needles than I was yesterday and I thought yesterday was crazy! Why am I so much more nervous than she is?? People have babies every day!

hehehe

Bella had her weekly doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon and she said it will be soon, but not right now. Her body is making ready with the pre-labor, losing her "plug", and a vague, crampy feeling. My poor little girl. She sounded just so exhausted yesterday I wanted to have the baby for her.

And get this - the child is going to work today. She said she might as well get a few more things done before her leave and working one day in November will up her PTO days for the leave as well.

Okay

This little dude is coming soon. My little tater-tot can't keep us waiting much longer.

soon?

As for me - it's been a week! I'm plodding on. Today is a day off for me so I'm going to concentrate on preparing some healthy eats, cleaning my house, making some appointments, and general shenanigans. Ha!

also in the plan for today

He gave his momma a hard time. She went into labor at 6 p.m. Saturday evening and didn't he make his appearance until Monday morning! It was that huge noggin giving problems. But look at that hair!!

Damn our genes and our huge heads! Both of my girls had 14 inchers.

He is beyond gorgeous and everyone is so happy.

I am a granny! My husband and I are now officially Gigi and Poppy.

What a beautiful baby boy! I stared and stared. I see you. I am so bursting with huge smiles here, Gigi. How I wish I could hug you big and tight! I kept thinking all day yesterday: I just know it's today, I just know it's today!

[ps - all my sons had huge heads too, Z the biggest -- compliments of their momma, yikes! It's why I can't find hats to fit me ]

Congratulations to Momma and Daddy and GiGi and Poppy! A miracle is born. And he's YOURS. And your world is complete!

Daisy, he is perfect! What an adorable baby. I think he is the cutest I've seen. Add me to the list. My DS's head was huge. After 44 hours, they had to do a c-section! Thought to your daughter. I am sure she is sore and adjusting!

How is GIGI doing????

He sure took his time didn't he?

T - I have to try on dozens of hats when I'm getting one. I then guy the one that the least tight. Big headed girls unite!

I love that little tater-tot so much. I've had a cold the past couple of days and it's killing me to not see him! I don't want to sneeze and cough in their house.

She is doing good. Recovering from a C section is rough as you know! I told my DD1 that I'm never telling my birth stories again. I had such easy deliveries in comparison to what she went through. She was born in 30 minutes! She pretty much shot out like a canon!

Teasing a bit, but it truly seemed like the doctor "caught" her.

I'm doing great!

So - off track a little with the excitement this past week and a half. Not too bad though. Didn't jump on any candywagon anyway. For that I'm grateful.

I'm sick - not deathly, but just coughing, sneezing, headache, no APPETITE! That's the good part of it! Always a silver lining.

So I'm drinking water, drinking tea, having lots of good soup (I made homemade chicken noodle for Baby-Momma and kept some for me).

Feeling good mostly.

The bad thing about having a cold this bad is I can't go see my little Baby-Doll. I made DD1 send me a photo yesterday and she sent me seven. Smooches to my girl.

His hair!

Proud Poppy is holding him here.

I'll stop soon I'm certain. Right now I'm thinking everything he does is magic.

. . . so . . .

As I've said, the only good thing about having a cold is I have no appetite. My energy isn't horrible, but by 8 p.m. or so I am done. Last night I changed sheets on the bed, brought up a shot of Maker's Mark to sip in bed, thought I'd look at a magazine or two before falling asleep. No dice! asleep by 9 p.m. That's okay.

Yesterday I had a bowl of leftover chicken noodle soup I had made for DD1 and Pup (husband) and I tried out a new bar and grill in the neighborhood. I had a Cobb salad and water.

The temperature here yesterday got up to 55. It was so warm I didn't put on my coat when I left work. I even ran over to my favorite thrifting store in my neighborhood and donated an Ikea bag and went in and found a couple of things.

I love Buffalo china right now and found a small platter. And I found four clear glass Christmas plates with an etched tree in the center. I'll take photos maybe when I get them out of the dishwasher. I love thrifting. It relaxes me to poke around and see what I can see. I even found a few winter sweaters for myself. I'm heavily into looking like Lara Antipova from Dr. Zhivago. All those long skirts, boots, and big sweaters.

And the slow walking is perfectly in keeping with my move like Grok primal stuff. Perfect for getting the steps up on my Fitbit.

The temps are mild as I said, but the wind! I don't understand why it's always so windy. Yeah, I get the meteorological reason, but come on! It's hard to be outside when I'm flying down the street like Dorothy before the monkeys tried to get her!

It's pretty bad! It just keeps hanging on.

Set me free why don't you babe?
Get outa my life why don't you babe?
Cuz you really don't love me,
You just keep me hanging on.

Every day it seems to be affecting me differently, but not really getting better.

I couldn't stand being away from the Tater-Tot so I bought masks to wear when I'm with him.

But yeah . . . it's an icky bug. I don't like it.

Hey, girl. So bummed to hear that this ICK still has you down! Hope you're taking plenty of vitamins too to help kick it to the curb.

I've been swamped lately, both at work and in the evenings, and no time to play catch up with my online ventures and friends. I'm not complaining! I am most thankful to have my job, and I realize there are times that I just have to roll up my sleeves and hold on tight till the craziness passes and the winds die down a bit.

Your little sweetie is so beautiful! OMG. That hair. I know it's killing you to not be with him. Stupid bug! What bad timing. Just keep focusing on all the fun you're going to have with him in the hoildays ahead. That will keep you afloat emotionally, hopefully.

As for recovery, I think trying get in a some light cardio has proven to be helpful in helping people get over bugs, as well as preventing them. Maybe try to get in 20 mins or so of sustained cardio and see if that helps you feel stronger. When your body is strong, so are your antibodies! Try to take in high doses of antioxidants ... and acai berry cocktail. Lots of vitamins, lots of water, Vitamin D and a little aerobic activity will definitely help to push things along. We gotta get you better...SOON! That youngin' misses his Gigi!

Shot of the babes while squirming around.

He's coming to our house today for Thanksgiving! My DD1 and SIL were scheduled to be with her dad's family normally for this year, but she just doesn't feel up to a long trip with a three week old baby. We only live seven blocks away! Yay for us!

I'm cooking. Spent the past couple of days cleaning and last night doing all the pre-cooking I could. Pup helped a lot! Our house looks fantastic!

I made part of our meal more carb friendly. I made caulitaters for DD2 and I since my friend is bringing mashed potatoes as her contribution to dinner. The cauliflower to potato ratio is 4:1. I tasted them after whipping and they taste wonderful!

And I made my stuffing with Trader Joe sprouted wheat bread so the carb count is way down on that as well.

Our family has always been big on snacks before dinner (so weird, but true). I have fruit, cheese, salami, rice crackers, and DD2 is bringing pickles wrapped in cream cheese spread on turkey slices. DD1 is bringing the Tater-tot so that's her eat-em-up contribution. Ha!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my wonderful LLC friends. Be safe and have a bourbon with me if you're so inclined!

How is it I managed to fall off the planet for a bit? I'll never know what happens to me, but it does. Sad!

We've all had a hard winter yes? Nasty and long. I feel the change coming. I have been hearing the birds, melting is happening, and I even transitioned out of my down coat so progress is happening! Yay to that.

I have had such a personally challenging winter. I have suffered from symptoms of menopause (as all of us certain-age ladies) for the past two years while trying to find the perfect balance of my hormones. No luck no luck.

I found a new anti-aging doctor in my town and visited him back in February. Got weighed on a Tanata scale (mind blowing!) had blood work done. When I went two weeks later to meet with him to go over my tests he said, "I was shocked how bad your blood work is. You just don't look like it would be this bad!" I had to laugh. For whatever reason I've always been that person that looks "fine" even when sick as hell. Isn't that weird??

My blood work showed Vit D in the crapper, estrogen in the crapper, libido in the crapper, progesterone in the crapper. DHEA in the crapper.

He updated my supplement supply to include a green tea extract, a different DHEA, a different Vit D that includes Vit K, and I'm to keep taking all the other crap I take. He approved of my supplements! I'll post the list if anyone is interested. It looks like I'm a nut when you see everything I take.

I'm a few weeks in and this is a bit TMI, but the libido came back immediately - which relieved me so much. I hated feeling no desire. Husband likes this as well.

I can feel a bit of brain fog lifting which was really bothering me. I kinda stopped talking to people (half kidding here, but not really) because I couldn't ever remember if I had already told them stuff. Do any of you know what I mean? It's embarrassing to always repeat yourself. I'm still doing it a bit, but I am hoping all of that gets better. I can always see in my DD2's eyes when I'm repeating myself. That always makes me sad.

I am having much fewer hot flashes and his first goal was to help my horrible insomnia. That hasn't really changed much. Maybe a little. Hard to say!

I meet with him again on April 1 so we'll see what the next step is and if anything will change with my bio-identicals. Oh I forgot to mention them - he has me on an estrogen cream I apply every evening, a testosterone cream I apply three times a week, and a progesterone sublingual I take every night.

It's not as bad as all of that sounds and if I feel better, which I have started to, I'm down for all of that.

And I started keto eating last Sunday. I'm suffering right now from the worst keto flu! Yuck! But in a weird way it makes me feel like I'm doing something right if I'm feeling so badly because of cutting out the nasty carbs and sugar from my diet.

Whew! That was a lot!

. . . and . . . here are a few photos of my little Spud who I get to watch two days a week. I love him with unbridled passion.

He is just over four months now and the smartest little boy you've ever seen. His pediatrician says he is way ahead developmentally. Just like his momma was when she was a babe.

Smooches everyone!
