These are fantastic. You are an angel! I didn't really know where to start for resources. You are a well of info!

The big thing the nutrition class emphasized is your way of eating. They didn't say SOLE specifically, but it totally is. You need to trademark that girl!

I would love some info regarding supplements.

I am glad I have that nummy pork in the freezer downstairs. I have some questionable stuff in the freezer upstairs though.

Just yesterday I baked some meatballs to have for lunch before my second class, and I was idly reading the ingredients (never read the ingredient list idly - it needs to be done purposefully!) and oy the soy! Grr! Between soy and HFCS you need to read every damn package.

I'll PM you Vanessa. I take millions of vitamins. Are they considered supplements?

I was reading what you said over on HB's journal about GMO foods. I had never heard that term before.

Popcorn? Really? I should never eat it again. The nutrition class said popcorn spikes bloodsugars badly.

I can bring pistachios to the movies. I do like some popcorn at home once in a while though.

One step at a time yes? I could eschew popcorn for now easily. It doesn't work with primal eating anyway.

Hey, before you purchase any more supplements; I'd like to suggest that you read a very small book: "Food Rules" by Michael Pollan ($5 @ Amazon)

If I get a minute, I'll post what he says re: Supplements...but in a nutshell...except in a few cases...it's best to get your vitamins & nutrients from the food you eat (instead of from a pill)

Hey Daisy !!! thanks for stoppin by and the compliments..!

Popcorn is a downfall of mine.......... I love it... and cant eat it.!!
if I save up ALL my carbs for the day...and know I am going to the movies...
I will eat it....( none of that fake butter junk though ) and will consider it more
of my FIBER intake for the day...not my sugar...!! haha...

Nom nom nom.... went to see Avatar a few weeks ago... went through a
bucket like a buzz saw !! haha.... drank the large diet soda too...( which was a mistake..
because it is close to a 3 hour movie...and...well... I had to hold all that liquid in !! haha. )

Well I hope all is well !!!!

Hello!

Twyla - that was hilarious!

Sandy - I had a mid-term this week (gulp) and succumbed to the sugar-beast.

I haven't been that stressed since . . . since . . . I don't even know when! I even broke out in a fever blister and I haven't had one of those since my mom died five years ago. So that's major stress. Why do tests get me so crazy?

On the good news - I've been going to the gym.

I'm off sugar now - I picked up a magnesium supplement that I add to water to relax me and help me sleep. I'm drinking it hot right now so I'll report if it works.

I am back from Vegas. OMgoodness, that place is exhausting. I had so much fun!

Lots of drinking and lots of walking and lots of people watching. Holy crapinoli there is some good peeps to check out there. Better than a show.

I am eating clean today, mostly meat, tea, and water. I have not made it to the gym this week. I sure can tell I'm getting to be a geezer. It takes so long to recover from being a bit naughty. Ha!

I'm on it to own it.

Giving myself three blessings a day. Manifesting health and fitness and a smaller DGG.

Did Callanetics this morning and now I'm IFing through the morning and afternoon, looking forward to dinner out with friends.

I just checked the menu and they have gluten-free options (thanks goodness for trends yes?) and I'm planning on having the pan-fried walleye with double vegis instead of potato. I've never had a resto say no to that.

I will also enjoy a glass of pinot grigio. It's Saturday night.

Dinner went well. I had the walleye and vegis and pinot grigio.

But when I came home I had Girl Scout cookies. grr and arg! Those damn cookies!

So today i am researching L-glutamine and chronium. How did I not know about this stuff? I'm sure I've been told about these supplements, but didn't hear.

I am nicely sore from Callanetics. After studying today I will do some more in the basement workout space.

For dinner I am making chicken breasts. Baked potato for the Pup and stir fried cabbage and spinach for me.

I haven't had a chance to pick up the supplements. I'll try today after class.

Pup and I are going to strive for healthier living. Well, I will be the ambassador of this project.

Maybe me spear heading this will help me stay on task.

Yesterday was good.

Did a bit of slow-moving (ala Primal Living).

Eating was weird. Had red-pepper roasted bruscetta (spelling??) with sunflower seed bread and a few wasa crackers with white cheddar. Weird.

I am planning on cooking today.
