Day 10

Mangia
Good day. I'm feeling in control. I hate to say it out loud.

Carbs were up today and protein down. I need to be mindful of eating protein. I craved tomato soup last night after coming home from the club. It was warm and comforting. It's damn cold here! Ha!

Calories were low, but that's okay. I want to incorporate more IFing into my daily plan. Lower calories a few times a week is a good thing.

Esercizio
10 minutes stationary bike
15 minutes elliptical
30 minutes weight machines - especially several for triceps and biceps
crunches and stretches

carb - 27 percent
protein - 14 percent
alcohol - 20 percent

46g - protein
89.5g - carbs
12.1g - fiber

Daisy,

By the looks of your "Day 10," it's no wonder to me that you are feeling in control. You've tracked well. You're cycling calories. You're exercising and lifting.

Pat yourself on the back Big Time, girl.

(My only raised eyebrow? Low protein. Need to watch that when you're building muscle. )

Today I'm seeing an acupuncturist Jaimie! For my knee. My sis swears by this woman for pain so we'll see what happens.

It does feel good to be exercising. I'm in my third week and it's feeling more and more like a "need to" rather than a "should." That makes me so happy!

I am so grateful for DD2 joining my club. That has been the difference. I meet her at 5:30 three times a week. It makes all the difference knowing she is there waiting for me or depending on me. I haven't blown off any workouts like I have when it's just me.

Weigh In Day

200

No loss. So let's examine what I need to concentrate on.
  1. Alcohol - I had several atypical events this week and I drank wine at all of them. I'll watch the alcohol next week.
  2. My protein wasn't up where it needs to be.
  3. My carbs need to be lower.
  4. More water - this has always been something I struggle with.
  5. Skip bananas and other higher carb fruits for the time being.
  6. I need to incorporate some solid IFing for lower calories.
  7. Oh sheesh! I just had another one and it's eluding me! Arg!

What went well.
  1. Exercise - I'm going and working hard. I've done things independently at home as well.
  2. I've had very very little sugar.
  3. My cravings, while not completely gone, have really gotten manageable.

Even without a loss, I'm feeling much stronger and thinner, if you can believe. My belly feels flatter. Just a few minutes ago I ran up the stairs to the loft. Ran! So my knee is really responding to working out.

Overall, a bit disappointing, but mostly good.

Yay me!

I love your synopsis Daisy! I met a friend for dinner last night and had anticipated it would be a quick one. We both got out of work late and were exhausted but we sat and chatted forever! I hope your body responds well to accupuncture. I have had accupuncture for periods of time on several different occassions for several different reasons. LOVED IT!

Daisy, I'm no expert, but from looking at your macros for the last week, I'm confused as to why you think you would need to LOWER calories. Based on your stats and your activity level, if you're maintaining too big of a deficit for too long of a stretch, your metab is gonna stall out. Your body will get pissed off at you for starving it and WILL NOT BUDGE.

Just FOOD for thought.

Oh...and, uh, yeah....crank up the protein.

I've been looking into Intermittent Fasting for quite a while and have been checking out MarksDailyApple.com. There are quite a few peeps over there (smaller group) that follow it with good results. I'm dabbling I guess.

But definitely upping my protein!

Ha! Hey, Friday night right?

I am shooting for 90 percent on and 10 percent off. With the thought that this will help my falling off and saying WTH and binging.

How are you girl?

Can't have THAT, can we? The WTH-bingeing. NOOOOOO-SIRRRRR-EEEEEE.

How am I? Going stir-crazy. Needing a run like a drug-addict needs a fix.
I've been in a funk emotionally, nothing that a good dose of kick-ass endorphins and training won't fix.

Hope you have a great day, Daisy.

Binge Monster

I can't understand her. After she has visited I'm full of pithy insight, but when she arrives I just open the damn door. Grr and arg.

Here is what I know:
  1. reward meal is a euphamism for door-opening
  2. keep bingeable food out of the house - duh right?
  3. figure out a method to stop-think-listen before taking the first bingeable bite

I mustn't let this derail me though. Jump right back on and just do it.

Have you had acupuncture Sandy? I tried googling some stuff, but my brain went out of focus the minute I began reading. I am going to trust and not try to fully understand.

I would be very interested to hear how you like acupuncture. I still have twinges with my knees, but I think that if I could get this weight off, it would be fine. Don't know...

Excellent self-help affirmations, Daisy.

Bingeable food for me? Ice cream and donuts.

I will not binge on ice cream. I will not binge on ice cream.

After reading for quite a while on the Radiant Recovery website about sugar addiction I tried the potato before bed.

I slept soundly. Very soundly! Even on a good night I wake several times and last night not even once. The alarm woke me as a matter of fact which doesn't happen very often.

Felt very groggy and have a headache. This could be the potato from what I read or it could be because I binged all weekend and now my body is purging that junk out.

I'm going to try this for a bit to see if it helps with my cravings.

Today's Plan:

Acupuncturist appointment this morning. I will return, work in my office for a bit, do some domestic stuff, then yoga. Protein with every meal. I'm not hungry right now so I'm going to have whey protein for breakfast.

Day 16

Mangia
Had meatballs and a bit of marinara sauce for dinner and I feel so full! Good day.

Had second appointment with acupuncturist. I am very optimistic. I had a hard time, though, relaxing during the treatment. After the needles are put in she left me in the room with music. It was a long 30 minutes!

I just couldn't get my mind to shut up.

Felt as though the energy being moved around went directly into my head.

Next appointment is Monday.

Esercizio
30 minutes yoga

Macros
cal - 1220
fat - 62 percent
carb - 10 percent
protein - 27 percent

82.4g - protein
31.9g - carbs
.2g - fiber <eek - how is this possible?>
