We have such a blast playing the wii sports though. Bowling and golf especially. Pupcake is incredibly competitive and it's so funny to hear my normally mild-mannered Pup turn into a expletive-spurting dude. He makes me laugh!

I slept like mad last night too! I am not a good sleeper and last night I slept over 9 hours. Me! Oh and it felt marvelous!

I'm off to the ophthalmologist this morning and meeting DD2 at the club for some elliptical torture tonight.
It's all in the perspective, girlfriend. All in the perspective. You perceive torture, you'll feel tortured. You perceive fat melting away, you will FEEL fat melting away.

The club offers an OPPORTUNITY for you to __________.

You're in charge. Fill in the blank.

Oh! This is good Twyla. I was going for self-deprecation and humor, but you just made me totally see how, even when we jest, what I say and think can be my opportunity or my downfall.

Score Little T!

Okay - Let's say it again differently . . .

"I am going to the club tonight to enjoy some elliptical enlightening. Some elliptical exhausting. I am getting strong and lean and long."

Truth be told, I am starting to enjoy the elliptical. It's easier on the knee and makes me feel like I'm actually doing something.

Perception. Love it Little T and thanks. <smooches>

I just noticed your tagline.

Daisy, and I think YOUR JESTING is what I missed most, not having you on the boards with us. Humor is critical to my life, the wind beneath my wings. So naturally I'm drawn to you and to your humor.

But...uh...yeah....a little adjustment in the ol' perspective...yep! You got it!

Day 3

Mangia
Really felt better today. Much better on the cravings.

Esercizio
I went to the club with DD2. Did 20 minutes on the elliptical, some stretching and ab work, then weight machines for about 30 minutes.

When I got home I played more golf (I think we're addicted) with Pupcake.

Good day! Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. We're going to hit Aldi's for some good snacks, go out to eat (I've already decided to have a bunless burger with broccoli and dots of butter subbed for fries). Then we're heading out to see It's Complicated. I've heard it's pretty good!

Weigh-in day is Friday. This is a short week, but I want Friday to be the day every week, so I'll have to suck it in and weigh. At least the mii beasty doesn't talk to me from my bathroom scale, only from the wii scale. Beast!

How cute are you! Your avatar pic is lovely.

Great to hear from you and glad to see you are doing so well. I have abandoned my journal as you noticed, but am thinking about just maybe getting back to it.

What are you plans and goals for 2010?
I am giving up all soda! EEK I am afraid!

Happy New Year!

Speedy! Pupcake has been trying to give up soda. He's doing better. Soda is a hard thing to quit.

Do you do diet or regular?

Are you working out as hard as always?

A bit of a hiccup today, unintentional, but grr!

I bought a low-carb bar to take to the movie and enjoyed it thoroughly during the second movie we saw (we snuck into a second movie at the multi-plex. How bad are we? The place was a ghostland, nothing but q-tips out and about). Just now I took another one to my office, not to eat, but to enter into my ****** and saw that I ate not one serving, but three. Oh well. It was really filling. Duh hmm?

Esercizio
No exercise today. We ran errands, came home and put everything away, then went out for a bite and then off to the movies. Now we're nerding out at our computers.

Tomorrow's plan is trying out my new Jackie Warner DVD. My arms are nicely sore from yesterday's workout. I like that.

Bring it on yes?

My first weigh-in was a few minutes ago and . . . ta da!! . . . 200. I'm happy.

Intentions for day:

We bought a mini-weight set yesterday at Aldi's (they have the most random stuff some times!) along with a door jam thingy that you can do pull ups on. We're going to get that stuff set up in the workout space downstairs in our ancient basement.

Our house was built in 1898 and while that sounds like it would be cool, it isn't in this instance. The house was originally a very modest farm house (one of the originals in the area). And I mean modest. Tiny. No frills kind of thing. Over the years it has been added on to. First the living room and kitchen space (I have no real idea how the house worked before that), then even later the dining room and utility room was added on.

So the basement is one of those old thick thick block foundation types under the original part of the house, then the type of foundation blocks most of us are more familiar with. Then under the newest addition, there is just a crawl space. Gross!

Under the original part the ceilings are LOW, so I've made that storage and a present wrapping station. And a space for a sewing machine. The other part of the basement I've made into my exercise space and also put Pupcake's tanning bed. So I have a my big old TV, part of Pupcake's old white leather bachelor couch (lovely!), and an area rug we didn't need any more. It's really turning into a great space. We put the wii in that space as well.

Pupcake said he NEVER went down there before we got married. Now we're down there all the time. We'd LOVE to have it finished, but wow - that would cost bunches of money. We're not too sure we want to invest in this house any more. We've already remodeled the kitchen and loft area. Who knows what we might do in the future. The area isn't bad. Nicely located. And we have a 3+ car garage for all of Pup's boy-toys. And a huge double lot that is fenced for George. And last summer we put in a patio. So we'll see.

Meanwhile, the basement is a great workout space.

Can I talk or what??

So, all that blabbing to write my intent for day; which is lift weights and check out my new Jackie Warner DVD as I stated yesterday.

Have a great first day of the year everyone!

Daisy, I enjoyed reading about your farmhouse. Sounds wonderful. I love "older" houses. So much history, character. Where I used to live (from '83 to 2001), there were many old farmhouses there. It is a historic old town, and the history and beauty of those older homes was fascinating to me, so beautiful. People who lived within the city limits there were required by City Council to paint their homes from the Colonial Williamsburg "accepted" paint chart. Very quaint, charming.

The new homes of today can be beautiful, but they'll never upstage the charm of an older home.

Your exercise goals for the new year sound LIKE A PLAN, GIRLFRIEND! Go for it. And don't you dare look back.

Mangia
Had a planned indulgence. I enjoyed every part of it. Organic tortilla chips with cheese and salsa while watching a movie with Pupcake.

Esercizio
We played more golf, I did the Jackie Warner DVD - ouchy! Also did 15 minutes upper body with the new weights we bought. We will be putting up the chin up bar today

Macros
Did not track today, but other than my planned chips I had a piece of sausage quiche, plenty of calories, but not enough protein.

Your house sounds lovely! We set up a mini gym in the basement of our place too. I like the convenience, but have been a real slacker.

I missed your fitness goals, have to go back a bit in your journal.

Soda, my nemesis. At work I can drink all the soda I want, it's right there, easy access and diet or reg are consumed by me A LOT. Until yesterday tht it!

Have a great day!

The reason for the flop: See note in my journal. I didn't follow the recipe exactly. It was okay, just not how I expected it to taste.

Here's a shot of my living room. After all that yapping about my house I thought I'd share.

I've been reading a book (a makeover book) by a local guy and his theory is that we should makeover everything in our lives. Our houses, our bodies, our wardrobe, everything.

I've been blogging about it for a bit now. It's helping me I think.

WOW.

BEAUTIFUL!

Daisy, I love all those earth tones -- we have very similar tastes. I love neutrals with a pop of color. It looks so beautiful, classy, warm and inviting -- the added plants, the candles, the lighting...yeah.

Well done, my friend.

(And by the way: Rock on, Coach, on the UB training! Can't beat sexy, beautiful muscle! )
