Thank you JM's 30-Day Shred!

My ortho says a bruised bone can heal on it's own; but that a torn meniscus cannot. I know of at least 2 people that had the surgery. But I don't want surgery! But like you, I am sick of the pain and the limited activity level.
Thread-jacking here, as I was trying to catch up on Daisy's journal....indulge me a minute....

HB! That is scary! That is EXACTLY why I quit doing JM's Shred last year -- all the jumping and lateral movement was really putting weird stress on my knees, which already have issues, and I just didn't want to gamble with injuries.

That is horrible news! Hope you feel better.

DAISY, I'm hoping everything works out for you with the job situation. O.M. This kind of stress is not what we need, we who are trying to eat healthy and fight our weight, etc. I don't know about you, but I've always been an emotional overeater. When I'm stressed/depressed, I want to eat for comfort.

Again....we need that HOTLINE, don't we?

Hang in there. You're doing a great job of keeping focused.

Thanks for the support Vanessa! I'm sure I'll be fine. Pupcake is going to bring me to the hospital and hang out working on his laptop and DD1 is going to hang out with me the day after seeing to my every need. Ha! She said it will pay back, just a bit, all the times I've taken care of her. What a sweetie she is! I'm a lucky momma.

Sing it! I'm a VERY emotional eater.

Maybe surgery will make me drop a few hmm? Gotta find the silver lining!

We went out to eat tonight. It's Friday after all! I had a burger patty with no bun and a side of guac and mayo. Small side salad with ranch.

2 rum and diets. Now I'm sooooo sleepy.

I so wanted a naughty treat so instead I made some of Vanessa's Protein Pudding. That stuff is great for taking a craving away. And it's delicious.

Protein has been kinda low the past couple of days. I tried to eat more meat today. I bought lots of eggs yesterday so I'll boil some tomorrow. Love the egg salad.

I will weigh on Sat morning and see what's what.

I just spent a few minutes re-reading in my journal and last summer I must have lost my mind. I have been repeating myself like mad! And I'm not even listening to myself! I have to laugh.

Clarity maybe?

I'm on plan, hopefully remembering what I've been posting, and moving forward.

Wow - wow - wow

Hi Daisy,

Sorry to hear you need surgery. Did you injure yourself doing an exercise tape? Will you need a long time to heal?

You are really doing great! I hope some of your good habits will rub off on me!

Speedy! Hello girl! Is that you in your avi? That's such a cool effect for a picture, but you can't fool me - I can see you are cute.

I fell while walking my dog if you can believe! How dumazz is that? Actually, I twisted my ankle and didn't realize I had hurt my knee until a month or so later when it "POPPED."

I will be glad to get it fixed. I am tired of being stuck, you know?

I had another putzy day. Pupcake is now working Saturday's and today I just hung out here doing laundry, hanging some art, making a recipe for a pancake I found (yuck BTW), and hanging out on LCF for a while too.

We just got back from seeing The Wrestler. Wow! Impactful movie.

I am very weird when I'm home alone. I just had a couple of weiners for lunch, then before the movie Pupcake wanted weiners so I had a couple more. A weiner day.

I'm thinking about making a hamburger soup recipe I found. I'll report back if it's good.

Hi Daisy,

That is me in the avi. I am still too nervous to post a real (unaltered pic) of me.

I'm hoping to see the Wrestler tomorrow.

YES!! LOL!!

Daisy,
(I just posted this in my Journal but wanted to post it here too! )

yep, I kinda figured your 2nd doc would NOT be happy w/ the Nordic Track

oh that sucks.

my ortho told me NO MORE JM 30-Day Shred + to avoid the Elliptical, too!

he told me I can use the stationary bike right now -- that's IT!

and of course I take my dogs for a walk every day (but no hikes right now)

up/down stairs absolutely kill my knee --- how about you ??
(I hate standing on escalators in The City - so embarassing!)

I'm so glad you're doing the surgery right away.
YES I'd prefer to get mine done & over with too!!
(I hate to wait) 4 more weeks . . . Sigh.

ITA (so does DH) - that's gotta be a "worst case".
You def have more of a 33% chance of "better".

Manifest it baby!! Tell the Universe that it WILL be 90% better!!

This doc (same clinic) was going on vacay so I opted to take his first availability. So no procrastination for me, which is my fav thing to do if you haven't noticed.

I'm hoping he was doing a CYA regarding the 33 percent. I cannot believe it won't be much better after this meniscus tear is repaired.

I am trying my darndest to manifest. I DO want this to be better. I want to be able to get back to the biz of living my life. I've been cocooning a bit because it's harder to make my way around. So I've been staying home instead of going out and doing. It's winter here and hard to get around anyway, let alone with a bad knee. Blerg.

Enough grousing! I am going to the clinic this morning for my pre-op physical.

Thank you Miss Vanessa! You are the sweetest.

My pre-op physical went fantastic. I'm a healthy specimen. Doc said she hopes her EKG looks as good. Yay!

I am glad you are a healthy specimen! The choice of words made me laugh.

It's really icy here too and hard to walk much outside. I've done a couple of spectacular Homer Simpson-type moves this year, but have been lucky in that they were only embarrassing.

Hope your creativity made an appearance after a good sleep.

Just a long day yesterday - lots of rumors flying around at work. I try to stay out of them, but when you do that you miss key info at times. Arg.

It's hard to function with layoffs hanging over your head isn't it? So many in this country are facing this exact thing or have been dealing with it for a while now.

I feel better after sleeping.

Yes, it is. (hard to function with layoffs hanging over your head)

Same way at my job; we're scrambling to cover 150k in lost donation revenues...yadda yadda yadda.

we're cutting projects & jobs. again. it sucks.

I was laid-off in 4/1995; again in 10/2001.

I do not wish to add 2009 to the list. Nope.

Thanks Sandy! I am truly manifesting a complete recovery and soon I'll be walking my poor doggy. He is trying sooooo hard to be good, but it's hard when he's so full of energy that can't be burned off right now. Poor George.

I bet the news about Target and Best Buy was not good to hear. It's a little scary; especially Target. Yet the evil WalMart (sorry walmart lovers - I go there myself) is doing better than ever.

I work downtown and every place that lays off people means that the businesses here will suffer as well. I'm in the City Center and there are already so many empty store fronts. Yuck-a-roonie!

This is what a girlfriend e-mailed me. She's the best.

OK girl now I have to give you a little talking to!

It is OK to feel a little sorry for yourself but that is it!! This will
be easy smeezy girl. From what I hear microscopic is way easy and non
invasive. A little recoup at home and you will be back on track and
without pain or annoyance from that knee. Who am I going to cross
country ski with if you don't get better? If you don't get this done we
won't be able to bargain hunt or go on grocery store tours!

I know the news is scarier all of the time. We just got our increases
taken away for this year and I'm sure layoffs are in store for us. Our
company is doing great but now all of our customers are having problems
so they won't be buying anything. This definitely is a ***** because I
won't be able to retire for years at this rate but at least we are
healthy (for the most part). You and I have beautiful, wonderful children and
someone to love. Boy I sound like a preacher now but I'm afraid things
are really going to get worse and we have to keep thinking positive!

Enjoy everyday even if you are at work. Just think if you had to find
another job everything would be new which would be fun at times but
let's face it sometimes we can go to work and kind of coast for the day
because we have been there a long time (not real often but you know what
I mean).

I'm going to try to stop spending and pay off everything I can and try
to save which isn't easy for me but I'm feeling fired up about it.

OK I am getting off my high horse now. I think I'm getting really
nervous about all the economy stuff. You guys made a great move when
you decided to redo Pupcake's house I think.

Good Luck tomorrow and I will call you on Friday mid-day to check on
you. Get extra sleep, relax and heal.

Love you Daisy Girl,
Reechie

I'm a lucky girl really.
