I see by my sliding signature line that 40 pounds need to go.I have really derailed myself.
How does everyone here pick their goal weight? When I lost weight in 1997 and then a bit more in 2002 (on Atkins) I did not get below 161. I picked 158 so I can feel how is in that number range. But numbers don't matter. My kitty is sitting right in front of my monitor watching me type and I can't see myself! lol Numbers DO count. But they need not rule my world yes? I'm sticking with 158. I would really love to be there.

I have breakfast and lunch already planned and ready in the fridge to bring to work with me. That feels liberating I have to say!
Dinner will be either white castle pie or a cheeseburger pie. The burger is in the fridge thawing. I did my stretches yesterday for the knee. Tonight Pupcake promised to help me arrange the workout room so I can use my new (new to me anyway! a find from Craig's List) Nordic Track. I need to ask HB what she's doing for her torn meniscus therapy. My knee seems to be getting stiff. Of course mine is complicated with arthritis according to my orth guy. Blech. Both knees he said! Stretching and yoga or Callanetics could loosen that up. I'm thinking about my plan of attack. |

B - coffee with stevia and hwc, pumpkin cheesecake S - coffee L - 6 oz bunless burger w/mayo S - pepperjack D - filet mignon on outside grill, avocado mixed with tomato Water - about 32 oz. Better on the water, but I need more. Exercise - knee stretches and strengthening, 5 minutes on Nordic Track (baby steps for me - knee felt very very stiff) Cal - 1763 Fat - 137.9 Fiber - 14.2 Carbs - 32.7 Protein - 103.8 Wow! I'm pretty happy with today. These look like very good numbers. Yay me! I need to work in more salad and vegis. Tomorrow I should seek out a nice salad during lunch. Pupcake and I worked a little bit downstairs. The water heater is leaking! wah! I did get the Nordic Track set up and used it. I was surprised I could figure out the sequence since it had been YEARS since I've been on one. My wasband had one and I tried and tried to like it, but never really did. I loved my treadmill. This seems easier on the knee. Last edited by DaisyGG; 12-29-2008 at 08:35 PM.. |

Can't sleep. I ran out of my hrt and I'm hotflashing all over the place! lol Our new kitty, Calvin, loves me and sleeps right near my face. It was like wearing a fur hat ala Julie Christie in Doctor Zhivago. Only not so cute.
![]() That movie was on the other day. I had it on while putzing around in my house. What a beautiful movie. I was loving all her turtlenecks, long skirts, and boots. Lovely hair. She's still a hot babe. I do believe I'm deep in ketosis. My mouth is rank and my breath is "interesting." At least interesting to my cat and dog. They keep sticking their faces near my mouth. They are wondering what I'm doing up so early. How crazy is this - Pupcake is preparing for the tax season (he's a CPA) and was up very late preparing his booklets. Now I'm up very early. We were in bed together for about 15 minutes. Sad! ![]() I dropped three pounds since Monday morning. I know it's water and whatnot, but it feels good. My knee is throbbing a bit and looks more swollen than normal. I'm thinking that even when I get slimmer I'll be sportin' a Doctor Zhivago-type look with all my legs covered with tights, boots, and longer skirts. <sigh> I'm not complaining. Being slim would be awesome. I liked being skinnier. I loved planning my outfits. Now I just pull out the same thing over and over. I think I have about five choices in that closet. The rest is just waiting for me. Last edited by DaisyGG; 12-30-2008 at 02:45 AM.. |

It's very cute. When I'm at my desk typing, Calvin nestles into my arms that are resting on the desktop. Makes it a bit harder to type, but he won't be so little for too long. I'm enjoying his cuteness for now.
He's getting really lanky. Like a noodle. I've been calling him chicken noodle. Good grief I'm drifty! lolol |

Did better on the water today. I'm very full from my dinner. My lunch was a little weird. Guac on turkey ham isn't as good as it sounds. ![]() Cal - 2101 Fat - 170.1 Fiber - 26 Carbs - 60.5 Protein - 106.4 Exercise - did my knee stretches/strengthening Calories seem high. Carbs a bit high too. I haven't said if I'm going to subtract fiber. Should I? Future SIL called and asked if I'd be interested in a yoga class. Hella yes! 10 weeks on Thursday nights. That should loosen this damn knee up maybe? Good day. Alright! Pupcake and I have out NYE plans made (it's been a crazy couple of months and both of us are off our A-game). We decided to go out to eat with the young 'uns (DD1 and her Big B) then off to see "Marley and Me." Then we might hit the spa tub out in the backyard. I love using it this time of the year. The only bad thing is jumping in when it's this cold. It's 3 below right now and can't believe it will be much warmer later. The hot water feels so good on my knee.

Day 4
New Year's Eve. We went out to dinner with the kidlettes and I ordered steak with double vegis. My big mistake was not asking what those vegis were and how they are prepared. My plate arrived with a heaping serving of carrots. Not a huge deal I thought. I put some butter from the bread on them and took a bite. Holy crapinoli, they were LOADED with sugar! I asked the server about it and she said they were prepared in a carmelized fashion. Blerg. She said they could steam some for me, but at this point my steak would have been icy cold. I passed. Grr I was kinda pissed. And get this! . . . there was even sugar in the damn butter! Server said there was sugar in their cole slaw as well. This was a very nice "fine dining establishment" as they say. I really was shocked. I was kidding around with the server and said, "what if I had diabetes"? Lesson learned: ask questions, never assume. Cal - 2178 Fat - 134.5 Fiber - 4.5 Carbs - 33.9 Protein - 145.1 Alcohol - 35.4 Exercise - does sexy-time count? ![]() Still in ketosis as far as I can tell. I've never done the sticks. Should I? I don't think it's that important is it? I fell asleep tonight at about 8:30 and woke up with a huge wine headache at about 12:30 and totally missed new year. Pupcake was in the office working away. I was also starving! My dinner was only meat and wine. So I had some cheese and bologna. Ha! |

It's no Manny's or anything, but a nicer place. I seriously was shocked. But I really should have asked the question. Now that is entrenched in my head. That's a good thing! Quote:

I have decided to update my signature line since today will be my first post to the new challenge thread.
I did my measurements yesterday. I haven't done a picture (yuck!). And I need to pick a piece of clothing. DD2 and I went to Off Fifth last week and scored tons of tremendous buys. One was a pair of some kind of designer pants (forget the designer! - I'll check and report back.) They're a size 12. These are going to be my first accountability pants I'm thinking. I need to try them on to see how far I can even get them on. |

Day 5
First day of the new year. It was a very laid back day. Started off with my big head (wine!). I puttered around doing a few chores, did my stretches, did my Nordic Track, made some peanut butter with my magic bullet. Nice day overall. I am a goof though. I totally did not think about salami being a "processed" food and therefore not whole. I had just bought a huge roll of it.And what about the big squirt of whipping cream I had?? I need to amend my covenant to include the occasional lunch meat. I need to pay closer attention. Like last night - I woke up at 2:30 or 3:00 a.m. and was starving so I had a couple of slices of bologna and cheddar cheese without even thinking it was processed. This is going to be tricky! Cal - 1961 Fat - 162.7 Fiber - 9.4 Carbs - 34.4 Protein - 93.7 Exercise - stretches and Nordic Track I'm happy with my macros for today. Water needs work as usual. Tomorrow is Friday. How weird is that? I have to go to work. It will be pretty darn quiet there. I will get a salad for lunch and for dinner we're making chicken breasts and I'll be having spaghetti squash. Good plan! I made Vanessa's recipe for Pumpkin Protein Pudding for breakfast. I liked it! Whipped it up in my Magic Bullet. I have totally unearthed that thing for the low-carbing. I had put it away as I wasn't impressed with it's performance making smoothies, but it sure did a good job on the PB I made yesterday and this mornings pudding.
Salad bar for lunch and chicken breasts for dinner. Maybe that movie we didn't see on NYE. I'm all messed up! It's Friday yet feels like Monday! |
