that's right. it's was only one meal. doesn't have to be the whole day. and it was just pasta - not a Krispy Kreme
you'll have a great workout no doubt! ![]() |

I didn't stay indoors and DVD; I took George for a nice brisk (really brisk! I was booking!) walk. We are having the most spectacular fall season and yesterday was so gorgeous I just couldn't stay inside. George loved it too. We were both panting when done.
I need to remember days like yesterday and today and pull them out in Jan or Feb when it's dark, cold, and sad around here. Winter is tough! |

Not the best day. I really need to not get so upset when I do hiccup. It really wasn't so horrible. It is what it is as they say. ![]() Here is my accountability though. Carbs high, fat too low, where's my protein?, and let's not talk about fiber. Grr. I brought fiber tablets to work with me today. I'll give them a try. Got in about an hour of cardio. A brisk walk/hike with George. Last edited by DaisyGG; 10-03-2008 at 07:49 AM.. |

First, the higher cals is not a bad thing, you just don't want to do that every day. The high carbs aren't THAT high, and could be effective in shaking things up when you're used to lower carbs, but if you have higher carbs like this, you want your fat to be lower. And on this day, for YOU, your fat AND carbs were high. So that's not a good combo. Fiber. Well, you know the rest of the story on that. So the next time you know you'll be out and eating higher carbs, try to remember to keep the fat lower for that day and you'll do far less damage and may even throw your body a curve ball. Our body likes being snapped out of its coma from time to time. ![]()

Oh - forgot to add - Friday is my weigh-in day and NOTHING!
But here's a weird thing. It's Friday and I'm walking quite a few blocks to have lunch today (probably 10-12 city blocks) so I wanted to wear jeans and my Puma's right? My regular chubby jeans were still in the wash so I pulled out my tighter pair and they went right on! WTH?? I'm sitting in them right now and not feeling like a sausage. What does this mean? |

Today's plan is: B: sausage cauliflower bake (just finished it - have I said how much I love this stuff?? L: I'm going to an unknown place, but plan on ordering a Cobb or something similar D: We're still in remodel mode and have the evening slotted for some Home Depot shopping. If we decide to get fast food I'm suggesting Culvers where I can get my burger in a basket with no bun and their side salad. Or maybe even a local mom/pop resto that has really delicious burgers I can get bunless and they offer a nice side salad in place of fries. That's my plan. Then we'll be at the house and my agenda is cleaning up after the electricians. Those boys can make a mess!

you'd cycle your carbs up/down each day: 50/100/50/100/50/50/100 or some variation of that. eating low carb/high fat with an occasional high carb/low fat day is Keto w/ Refeed. of course T is a Master at that! ![]() THANKS for the Recipe, here's what I ended up with last night: (tasted cheesy, spicy, & sinful - but very low carb - YUM!) Cauliflower Casserole 1 pound grass-fed ground beef 1 Tbsp Sage 1 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper (I used 2 Tbsp and it almost burnt my lips off! )1 Tbsp Turmeric 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder 2 Tbsp Parsley Sea Salt & Pepper (or you can skip the above & use commercially prepared ground sausage) 1 pound fresh or frozen cauliflower (I used fresh) 8 oz cream cheese 2 oz shredded cheddar cheese (sprinkled on top) Brown the grass-fed beef w/ herbs while boiling the cauliflower until tender. Combine beef & cream cheese in a casserole dish stirring until blended nicely. I broke up the cauliflower a bit (with a potato masher) but left it kinda chunky. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Bake about 25-30 minutes at 350 until bubbling with yummy cheesy goodness! You are right ... Seriously Delicious! ![]()

Tich - I hear you on that! The weekends are very challenging for so many reasons aren't they?
I was very sad on Friday for a variety of reasons. I just wanted to crawl in bed and not face everything - not right then anyway. But, life goes on and I couldn't hide. Last week was a week of bad news all over. Bad news in the family, bad news at work. Just generally sad thinking about my momma and thinking about my baby-girl so far away. But it's a new week and the remodel is progressing despite wrenches being thrown left and right (I'm getting really good at jumping over them! lol). It's Monday morning - I am listening to John Legend in my office (ever so softly) so life can't be that bad. Yay! |

Weekend Report
Well - very emotional time. Hiccuped a few times. Had pizza with all the young un's that came to help DBF put up the privacy fence in the backyard. These boys all volunteered! They weren't even asked, just heard about the huge project and came to help. How can you not love all of that? I'm going to have all these boys over for a game night featuring my world-famous (my world!) spaghetti and meatballs to thank them. Really - how sweet are they? But I ate that pizza. It was incredibly thin crust and I ate middles of a square cut pizza supreme. Very little crust and lots of good legal topping, but it felt naughty. Last night I made meatloaf, but ick! Something went wrong with it and we fed it to George. lol Can't win 'em all right? I'll give it another shot tonight. Plan for tonight - clean eating, callanetics, laundry, bills. BILLS!! No more procrastination. Laundry does itself once in the machine. DO IT! ![]() |

I was just working away and my mind was wandering about and I was remembering a time a few years back when I worked out very very regularly. My BFF and I would meet 3-4 nights a week and workout together at our club. I wouldn't blow it off because I knew she was there waiting for me and the competitive nature in me (not much, but a little) wouldn't let her be ahead of me in the week.
I wish I had someone now to work out with! DD and I have tried a few times, but school has started for her so two of her nights are very busy and she has homework the other nights. I need to be my own best friend. I've been very good about getting in cardio the past week or so, but need to get back on my DVDs. |

I am going to totally use Craig's List per your lead when I'm ready to add to my gym. In about 3-4 weeks! Whoooo hoo! I've bought stuff and sold stuff on CL, but just never looked for equipment before. Good idea! |

Hi Daisy,
Sorry to hear you are having an emotional time. coming your way from the Rockies in Canada. Life happens, hiccups happen. Just concentrate on today.I love it that those kids just volunteered. There has been nothing but bad news all over the place here and reading that just reminds me that people, for the most part, are kind. Ok your home gym sounds great! I meant to say that a while ago. I can relate to wanting a workout partner. DH started BFL with me, but has kind of lost motivation. So I have to just do it. Some days I don't feel like it at all. take care, sandy
