I started Atkins on May 1, 2007, weighing in at 185lbs. I'm 5'6" tall - and while I've never been pin-thin, I've never been this heavy either
In 2004, my DH passed away suddenly at 42yo, and I spent my time grieving with my new best friends, Ben & Jerry (errghh!). As you might imagine, it didn't take long to gain almost 40lbs with that eating/grieving pattern, over the course of the past 3yrs.
Today, I'm at Day 13 of Atkins, and I was encouraged by my bathroom scale: I weighed in at 175lbs...whoopppeee.
I plan to stay on induction for another couple of weeks, as I'm finding the diet easy to manage - and I certainly have enough fat to spare
My next step is to hatch out an effective exercise plan. I get bored very easily, so I'm going to try a combination of yoga, weight training and cardio.
