******ajcav's journal******
Hi All. I am not sure exactly how I am going to use this journal but so glad it is available. I think it's a good idea and a good way to get a daily post in. I am not always up for starting a new thread.
Today I have tried to be super aware of how many carbs I am eating on my lowcarb diet. I can't believe how quickly these things really add up. I am not giving up and went to get more protein for home. I am eager to do some meal planning and cooking ahead. Seems like I am always "getting organized". I rrrreeeallly want a treadmill to start walking. I am finding it difficult to walk regularly. SUPRISE, SUPRISE. A treadmill is not what I need to walk eveyday. I have just tried a bunch of ways to walk each day... I get up before my kids and that happends for a couple of days and then I say I don't want to walk at 6 am. Then, I go to the gym so someone can take care of the girls while I walk. That got old too... did not see the results I wanted (weight loss). I was not yet low carbing. Then I got the kids bikes up and running and take them with me. Well THAT WORKS GGGGGRRREAT!!! I never get my heartrate up because of all the wonderful things that comes with walking with children. sooooooooooo........... there you have it... a hundred excuses and still no walking. Honestly, there was two times in my adulthood that I walked and it really worked for me... one being... no car I walked to the closest bus stop and then would keep walking to the next bus stop until I eventually worked up to walking totally to my desinations. That worked and I did it for several months with great results. That is no longer an option. Ah, the good ol' days of being young and car-less. The second time that walking everyday worked for me was getting ready for my wedding. I had serious motivation and was footloose and fancy free. A friend and I walked everyday afterwork on the track. We worked up to running a lap walking a lap because we were in such good shape. I did that from November to July with portion control and got down to a size 5. God, I wish I could find that again.. a friend that wants to walk and talk and can go everyday the sametime each day. Well... I had a lot to talk about today. I know that my eating will come together for me. I am on the cusp of reaching my first goal which is down one size to 14. My second goal is to get my daily walking in. I really wish to get the five days of walking in a week. I am not sure where I am going to get that in at... I pray that God will help me find that friend to walk with and that I reach my walking goals. Enough for now... Next journal... Meal planning, daily goals, weekly goal Take care, AJ Posts welcomed!!! Happy lowcarbing all! |

While looking at my last journal entry I found that I met a goal I really wanted to start walking. I have 5 days walking 30 mins a day, 2 miles. I am thrilled with this. I have a calendar that I hang by my treadmill and mark my miles, mins and cals and fat cals burned each day. I have my headset back there and have set up an appointment for the cable co. to come out and hook up hbo. I just see myself walking and watching a movie. Wow! Talk about your high maintance!!!
It is working better than the gym right now. I have 3 lbs arm weights that I use a few mins each walk. That little 6 pounds gets pretty darn heavy. I am still working on trying to plan my meals. I am using fitday to count carbs however I didn't do it for 2.5 days and felt out of control. I wasn't sure what I was eating with out counting it. Enough for now.. off to visit with my Mom. AJ |
