Mel78's "GETTING TO GOAL... AND STAYING THERE" Journal
Ok... I'm starting a new journal (FINALLY)
. While I'm thrilled that I've had the successes I've had in the last year (Jan-Nov 2006) I'm frustrated, angry and disappointed that in the last 6 months I've not lost a single pound... To me, that's NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! I put on about 13 pounds during the holidays - which I've still not lost. So, as of today... my birthday-eve ... I'm STARTING ANEW!!!My current stats: 154/154/127 I have 27 FREAKING POUNDS to lose to get to goal .I'm going to do whatever it takes to get to goal. No more piddling around feeling sorry for myself. The only thing that's going to get me to goal is MYSELF!!! If I'm not losing, its up to ME to figure out why and to do something about it... Be it changing my plan up a bit or switching to a new plan all together for a little while. What I WILL NOT allow myself to do any longer is to be fooled into thinking that not having a consistent loss is acceptable!!! ![]() I'm going to put this out there cause I really don't want anyone that chooses to read my personal journal to be offended by what they read... but part of my reason for starting a NEW journal is because with my old one I found that I was not writing for MYSELF but was sensoring what I was writing for others... I will be putting my plan, my exercise, my supplements and thoughts, rants, vents and OPINIONS in this journal for MY reflection and use. There may be times when I'm not doing things that are "popular" but please know that anything I try to do to get to my goal is well researched and I've put a lot of thought into my actions... Be it cycling between regular Atkins OWL, induction or some more strict regimens such as the fat fast, kimkins, even the German plan I've done before... Regardless, I NEED this journal to be a place I can post to UNSENSORED... So, please do not take anything in here personally or offensively... Sometimes this is the ONLY PLACE I have to open up and put things out there... and I truly NEED this space for that!!! So, here's to a NEW journal - and hoping I have the same successes along this journey as I did the last!!! ![]()

Hey gorgeous!!!
Regardless of what you do and how you do it. I'm there with you. Cheering you on through the good and a shoulder to cry on through the bad. I'm with you through the good, the bad and the ugly. Just wanted to say hello, I'm stepping out of the office. When I get back, I'll try to visit again. ![]() |

Thanks Karen... and trust me... it could get ugly if these pounds don't start movin soon
...Ok, so, today... A.M. Exercise: 30 minutes on treadmill (8% incline, 3.0-3.5mph, 1.2 miles) Breakfast: Decaf Coffee & EAS Chocolate shake w/caramel davinci Lunch: Steak & Cheese "sub in a tub" from Jersey Mike's with banana peppers, mushrooms & onions w/ LC ketchup Dinner: Grilled Cajun Talipia, green beans and turnip greens from Cracker Barrel P.M. Exercise: 45 minutes on treadmill (9-10% incline, 3-3.5 mph, 2.8 miles) Also, I'll be pushing the water since we'll be traveling tomorrow through Sunday. I'm taking my water bottle with me so hopefully I'll do my best at keeping hydrated during the trip. That's always the hardest for me... Food choices will be limited, so I'm taking my shakes with me as a fail-safe against situations w/no acceptable food choices. On Monday, I'll be starting the KIMKINS BOOT CAMP 2-week challenge. My goal is to jumpstart the scale again... once the scale is moving again I'll slowly wean back to induction foods, but continue to watch my intake of cheeses, creams and dairy-fats. SOMETHIN's GOTTA GIVE ![]() |

Yes - kinda. The meal part is, but the workout part (HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training) is from the exercise board. I was reading how the interval cardio helps to burn fat more than the extended workouts I've been doing. Plus with my time crunch, it's hard sometimes to get in a full hour a day... so I'm going to try these workouts for a while and chart my progress.
I'm opting to do this meal plan (Kimkins Boot Camp) for a short burst instead of the Fat Fast that I did in November (with Anna & Karen) to get the scale jumped up again. The main reason is its more "natural foods/meals" than the fat fast, plus with this I can do it for 2-weeks (or longer) and still be able to eat regular foods if we go out to eat - you can get grilled chicken/fish and salad just about anywhere!!! Again, I'm going to do this for the 2-weeks and hopefully in that time the scale will thaw out and start dropping again. Once it does and I see losses start up again, I'll wean additional induction type foods back in one meal at a time over a period of a couple days. Oh, and btw, I'm taking a multivitam and an additional 500mg of vitamin C daily. |

Thanks for the birthday wishes
. We got back last night from the drive to DH's grandparents house. The funeral was short, but that's good cause his grandfather really couldn't take anything more. He's not doing well, but even in his current state, he seems to be sleeping better now that he knows she's no longer in pain. He told DH when we were leaving that he wants us to bring DD back up to visit when he's feeling better... so, we took that as a VERY positive sign of healing!!! ![]() Starting super clean today... KIMKINS BOOT CAMP for two weeks to hit total ketosis and get to the 130s by the end of May!!! ![]() V: (Multivitamin & 500mg Vitamin C) B: 3 hard boiled eggs & 2-slices boiled, fat free ham L: Chocolate EAS shake D: Grilled Chicken & 2-cups baby spinach salad w/spritzer dressing E: Evening 25-minute HIIT treadmill routine. W: 200+ oz minimum!!! Everything will be basically the same throughout the week the only thing that will vary is my lunch and breakfast as I have a couple shakes leftover and want to use those up as a meal replacement once a day. Also, it looks as if I'll be heading back up to VA/WV within the next week for my uncle's funeral as they do not expect him to make it through the end of this week. His body is shutting down and he's in and out of conscienciness because of the high doses of morphine he's on from the pain. So, when I go for that I'll be flying with my parents and plan stay on the grilled chicken & salad plan while away.Anyways, just popping in to update and to say thanks for the birthday wishes... ![]() |

Day one complete.
On to day two... V: Multivitamin + 500mg Vitamin C B: 2-hard boiled eggs and 2-cups coffee w/splenda L: 6oz Sauteed Chicken and 2-cups baby spring mix salad w/spritzer dressing D: 6oz Sauteed Chicken and 2-cups baby spring mix salad w/spritzer E: 20-minutes HIIT workout on treadmill (evening) W: 200oz minimum Yesterday went really good, loved the foods and the simplicity of it all. I went to the store last night and got the baby spring mix salad stuff and portioned it out into 2-cup servings and put them into baggies (with a paper towel to keep the moisture away) for quick access. Also, I sauteed up chicken last night using the 0-trans fat smart balance & fresh minced garlic. Per serving its not that much of garlic/butter... so I should be alright... especially since the flavoring saves me from needing any additional sauces for dipping Well, that's my plan for today... |
