Yea! I just tested a ketone strip...it was in small ketosis! I couldn't wait until tonight...had to see what was going on! I am feeling better now. I am planning to eat baked tilapia tonight with another cup of salad. I should be deeper in ketosis by tomorrow.

Ok Ms Beth, I am glad the pink is bath. I really don't put a lot of faith in the sticks. I have read so much about them. I have 2 questions for ya -- did your hamburger/cabbage stuff contain soy sauce ? And was it redi whip out of a can ???

Candy~there was no soy sauce in the Hamburger Cabbage. It was made with hamburger meat, small amt. of onion, cabbage, butter, olive oil. Then we put a T. of sour cream and sprinkle a little of parm. cheese on top. That was it! Yes, the whipped cream was Reddi whip out of the can. I had a lot of activity on my journal today....did you get to read all of it? I see that I have moved to a new page on here!

Yes, I read it ... I am gonna say IF you were knocked out of ketosis, it is the Redi Whip. I heard that stuff is EVIL.

Wow, I never knew that! I will go throw the can away now! I am already having withdrawals. What will have ever put on jello? I hate that stuff, but I was going to try it when I needed something sweet from now on.

I heard you can whip up the heavy whipping cream and add splenda.
OK, now I have never been one to eat the rhedi whip, that's just what I've heard. BEFORE you throw it away ... do me a favor and tell me what the ingredients are. Because I could have heard wrong. I thought all the carbs were from straight sugar.

Also, I replied to you in my journal.

Whipping cream whipped with Splenda is to die for. But, I don't think the Rediwhip has that many carbs. What does your can say. I thought it has like just one carb per 1-2 tablespoons. But, it does have sugar in it. There is a whipped cream in a can like Rediwhip sweetened with Splenda. Look for that.

See that's where I get confused. I didn't think it was always the carb count but WHERE the carbs came from. However, I didn't know they had one w/splenda. .

Ok, the Reddi Whip can I have says....heavy cream, nonfat milk, SUGAR, and then a bunch of stuff that I don't want to type out! It has <1g of carbs per 2 T. and sugar says <1 too. There is 1.5g of fat. I don't know...we may have to start a thread to see what others say.

Beth. Thought I would stop by and say hello. Nice to meet another shorty like me . I'm 5' exactly . I actually eat redi wip quite often (regular and chocolate... that one is amazing when you need something chocolatey) and I don't seem to have a problem with it... but it's true it does contain sugar... so everyone will probably react differently to it. If you do make whipped cream on your own, it's very easy (I'm just very lazy )... the key is making it in a stainless steel bowl which you put in the freezer first... I don't know the science of it (I think the cold makes the cream hold better) but it really does help make a better whipped cream... just add a little splenda and a little vanilla. - Hillary

p.s. Just wanted to say you've done really well... you look amazing in your current pics... and can really tell all the effort you've put in .

I am encouraged this morning! After a strict day of eating, I am back in good ketosis and at my siggy weight....137! This is the weight I started out the week with on Monday. Now I have until Sunday to lose some weight. I count Sunday to Sunday if you don't already know that....

DH and the big boys went to see the Midnight movie of Spiderman 3 last night. They said it was awesome for those of you who are fans! They couldn't wait until the weekend to see it! I have to tell you that I am sooo proud of DH! He resisted eating popcorn last night. That is one of his most favorite things in the whole world, and he didn't cheat! He is really dedicated to this WOE! (He was also rewarded this morning with being the lowest he has been. He has now lost 28.5 pds.!) I think they got home around 2:30 this morning. Then, I woke up at 7:50 and the crazyiness began! They always leave at this time for school! I got up and got everyone out of bed....rushed them to school....they made it exactly on time...8:15! It was a remarkable performance on all of our parts! We still don't know what happened to the alarm!

I worked on some situps and leg/butt exercises last night while watching my favorite show...Grey's Anatomy. It was 2 hours long. I had to do something, so I didn't feel totally guilty for not doing any exercise in the last 2 days!

I was adding up my carbs last night around 11:00 and realized that they were really low. I wondered why my stomach felt like it was eating itself. I drank some diet hot cocoa and that seemed to settle it. That stuff is the bomb! (Thanks to Krysta for helping me discovery it)

Menu from yesterday:

Breakfast~Atkins Shake (1N/5F)=1N/5F

Snack
~Coffee w/ Davinci's=0

Lunch~4 portions of Steak-ums(0), 1 cup of lettuce(.7N/1.3F), 1 T. ranch(1)=1.7N/2.3F

Dinner~Tilapia (0), 1 cup of lettuce w/ little toppings(1.4N/2F), one bite of brocolli(.5)=1.9N/2.5F

Dessert
~strawberry jello (yuck)(0)=0

Late night
~Diet hot cocoa(3N/4F)=3N/4F

Total: 7.6N/13.8F

I am going to try to continue eating well today and through this weekend. I really want to get to 135 soon. I don't know that it will be this week but I know it is coming soon if I work hard!

Good morning Beth. Sounds like that day of really low carbs was good for you. Congrats on getting back to 137.

Whipping cream is really easy to make. Just whip it with electric beaters and add sweetner when done. DD is making this and putting on top of strawberries as a snack after school. How good is low carb eating???

My boys want to see Spiderman 3 also. Things are just crazy with our schedule right now, though, so don't know when we'll get to it.

Beth, wow! I had a lot of reading to do to catch up with you! Awesome job on 137! I am working hard to get back to that, too. I was 138.6 this morning. Hopefully I can be 137 by Monday. You are well into the 130's now. I don't think you ever have to worry about seeing the 140's ever again! You are going to be at goal in no time!

BTW~ It is Land O Lakes whipped cream (in a can) that is the stuff sweetened with Splenda. That is what I use now. But before they came out with it, I used redi whip all the time. I never had a problem with it because the amount of carbs/sugar you get is so tiny. I lost great using it last time, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Glad to be back with my friends and I can't wait to see how May goes for us!

Beth I saw your steak um thread
I know Candy told you about the save alot ones BUT

99 cents a box blue diamond brand I bought them but haven't made them yet. Ours had them by the frozen pizza and meatballs not where the steak ums are they had the express ones as well.

Monet said they were $1.99 i where she is I thought I paid 0.99 but either way way cheaper than steak ums.
Just to let you know.
I made them they are tasty real steak ums are saltier so i add salt.

So, I went up just a little bit this morning...137.2. It is alright. I did my ketone stick last night and I was in moderate level. That is good for evening for me! It was probably the bacon I ate yesterday anyways. I have until tomorrow to lose something this week. I really don't have a lot of expectation. I just want to lose something!

I was terrible this week on exercise. My little boy wanted to go walking last night and I was just so lazy! I will do better next week.

We measured this morning and there was more change. I am pleased! So, something is working even though the scales are not reporting it yet.

I spoke with my friend yesterday (LP) and she is still doing great. She hasn't lost anymore on the scales, but she said that her pants were getting lose. She also said that she had been walking 2 miles a day. One mile at work with friends and one mile when she gets home with her family. I am so proud of her!

Menu from yesterday:

Breakfast: 2 eggs(1.2), 2 bacon(0), coffee w/ 1T. cream(.4)=1.6

Lunch: Hamburger(0), Slice of swiss(1), Mushrooms & onions(2), salad w/ tomato, cucumber, cheese(3.5), ranch(2)=8.5

Snack: 2 slices of cheese microwaved(.6)=.6

Dinner: Alice Springs Chicken (chicken, bacon, cheese, mushrooms)(3), cooked spinach(1n/3f), 1/4 cup of french greenbeans(1n/2f)=5n/8f

Dessert: LC vanilla yogurt(3) w/ 1 large strawberry(.8n/1.2f)=3.8n/4.2f

Total: 19.5N/22.9F

I don't have any really definite plans this weekend. Last weekend was so busy that I think we will just relax and spend time together. It is nice. Oh, BTW, we got the fence fixed and all the drama from last week is over now.

Glad you got the fence fixed .

I am glad your friend is losing some inches.

Your menu sounds yummy, and I am glad the measurements are going well. It's an awesome feeling. If you are losing inches, I firmly believe the scale will eventually catch up.

Hope you are having a relaxing weekend.

I'm crossing my fingers and tows for you to drop some more weight by Monday! Even if you dont, I'm sure you will AT LEAST be in the 136 range by next week at this time! You are doing great And I'm so glad that your friend is having success, too. I know you are a great example for her. Have a great rest of the weekend and I will talk to you again soon

Isn't the tape measure a wonderful tool. I'm so happy that DH talked me into measuring. I would have wanted to give up long before this without the tape measure.

I stayed the same this morning...137.2. That means I GAINED .2 this week. Oh well, at least I have my measurements like you all said. I know it will change soon....it may take a little longer than tomorrow though. I was ill this afternoon so my solution was to have some LC icecream....and then later I had pork rinds! I didn't care at the time. Also, I have been constipated. I have been taking fiber, but nothing seems to help. I even had a SF candy with SA in it thinking that might help. I feel miserable. Maybe things will move soon (the scales and the other)!

I did exercise yesterday. I went for a 1 mile walk/run by myself. I tell you that it is much more fun with someone. Mark isn't able (his knee) and the boys were too busy with other things. I am proud of myself for doing it though.

We had a wonderful service at church this morning. Afterwards, we went out with some friends. This afternoon has just been resting.

Menu from yesterday:

Breakfast~2 egg omelet(1.2) w/ sausage(0), bacon(0), cheese(.5)=1.7

Lunch~none

Early dinner~Outback~steak(0), lobster tail(0), salad(4), ranch(3), 2 brocolli florets(1), coffee w/ 1/2n1/2(.5)=8.5

Movies~1/2 SF crunch bar(1.7)=1.7

Later
~2 eggs=1.2

Total: 13.1
