Happy Friday, Beth! I can't imagine how hard it is to have the boys away. What a blessing that you still have little ones, and can give them some extra attention though. The little pool sounds so fun! Maybe take them to the dollar store for water guns and goggles to make them feel special at "swim camp"!

You really have accomplished so much in what really is a short amount of time. Don't discredit yourself. This last year has been a blip on the radar, with so many huge events in your life. It is a major feat to have maintained as well as you have. The rest will come off. You look great and should be in no hurry.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Deb~That means the world to me for you to say this. You are right...in the grand scheme of things it has been a very short time (even though it seems like forever to me ). It took me years to gain all of that weight. I can't expect to take it all off so quickly. I have to look at my journey from other perspectives. Having been on this plan for now almost 2 years, I have just proved to myself that I can live this way....I do look good....and I should enjoy myself now. I forget that often. I tell myself that I don't look the way I want...that I am not at goal and might not get there...all the while forgetting that I would have killed to look like this when I started. Thanks for reminding me of these things and keeping me in line.

I had a good weekend. It was pretty quiet around my house. We really missed our big boys though. Nana (DH's mom) came Saturday and kept the two little ones while we went out. We had a really good time...movie (Get Smart), dinner(Outback), and shopping. There was a Goody's store that was closing. I found a cute top, a bathing suit, pair of shoes, and lingerie there. All great purchases!

Eating wise I did pretty good this weekend. I did have a few legal things higher in carbs but no cheats. My weight still stays the same and at times bumps up. I am very frustrated!! All I know is to keep going. I continued with my exercise plan over the weekend as well. I wonder at times still just how much the medicine I am on (Wellbrutin) is hindering my weight loss. God only knows what my weight would do if I started eating high carb/ low fat.

Plans this week....hair cut today....our best friend's daughter's 3rd birthday party on Saturday. It's a pretty quiet week. I know in a couple of weeks is when all the fun will start with two weeks of "vacationing" (convention & beach). I am already missing you all!

Basic menu from yesterday:

B~Chocolate Atkins shake
S~PMS chocolate
L~Coffee w/ HnH & DS
D~Golden Corral-salad w/ ranch, cheese, piece of bourbon chicken, steak, bite of green beans, tea w/ splenda
D~2 squares Lindt 85% chocolate (on the way home...felt cheated w/ not getting to partake in the dessert bar I guess)
L~frozen blueberries w/ cream

I know, I know....terrible menu. All afternoon we were busy shopping for a birthday present. I didn't stop for lunch for me. The kids had eaten at home and I wasn't hungry at the time. I just had a coffee at the mall. I was craving chocolate yesterday (can you tell?). What's up with that? At least I got 2 1/2 hours of good brisk walking in while pushing the stroller. My chest muscles are even sore this morning. Oh well, I will do better today.

Morning Beth.

I'll bet it is the meds you are on that are causing you to not lose. I don't know much about it, but just from what I've read on here. I don't know what the answer is, though. Wish I could be of more help to you.

Just reading about your trip to the mall makes me jealous. I wish I could just walk the mall and shop right now, but I can't and it makes me mad/frustrated. Sounds like you got some nice things on your shopping trip with DH.

Enjoy your haircut today. I love getting haircuts. It's just so relaxing.

I love haircuts too. Anything to do with pampering is right up my alley. Speaking of pampering....my MIL is so wonderful! She called me yesterday and told me she was going to give me $50 to get a manicure & pedicure before I go on my trips. Funny thing is I really wanted to get my nails done before then but didn't have extra the money to do it. I feel guilty for spending money on unnecessary things that I can do at home. Now I am excited!!

What a wonderful MIL you have. That sounds so neat! I've never had a pedicure, but DD and I do them together at home. She had friends over on Sunday and they did pedicures on the deck. So cute. Just wait until your DD grows up more and all the fun you can have together with her. DD loves to fix my hair, play with it (which is heavenly) etc... I having a DD.

I can't wait to do all those things with DD!!!

Pedicures are so wonderful! You have to have at least one in your life time. They put your feet in this warm massaging tub while you sit in a chair that massages your back. They make your toes look the best you have ever seen...and your feet the softest. Afterwards you get a foot and leg massage with lotion. It's heavenly!

My poor dry feet. I'd have to soak them in coconut oil for days before I went. Maybe I'll do something like that for DD on her B'day, a pedicure for both of us.

Oh, they take care of all that!! My feet get bad calluses on them. After they soak them they have tools that get them back soft. I think it would be a great idea for the both of you to go for your birthdays. Isn't yours coming up soon?

Talking about DD's, mine loves to spend time with me, even if it's grocery shopping. When I asked if she would go with me at dinner, she of course said yes, but the boys were thinking "sucker.........." They don't get it. She wants to go.

I can't believe it's already Wednesday. This week is flying by, huh?. The reason I wasn't on here this morning was because I went with my friend Kim to shop for her daughter's birthday. I just got back (6:00)....been gone all day.

It's been a tough day as well. There has been a lot going on at our business lately. We had to let an employee go this morning and it wasn't a pretty sight. He got very upset. It was really past time for us to let him go, but we really tried to keep him. He just kept hanging himself with his work and attitude. Still is hard. Please help me pray that God will send us some good people to hire. We need several right now.

I'm really ill about my weight. It was up a pound this morning. I really haven't done anything to justify gaining a pound!!! I don't know what is up with me this week. I am just in a blah mood. I am really thinking I might be hormonal or something. Of course, that would explain my weight going up. It's just so frustrating.

I have had the attitude last night and today of why should I even try if nothing is going to change. I tried eating Induction levels last week and nothing changed. I really don't want to be in this mood....I'm trying to fight it. It just seems to be winning the fight right now. I am just holding on for dear life hoping I don't do anything stupid. I know I am going to be challenged at the B-day party. I have been trying to gear myself up for it.

Although this week I haven't cheated I have had some higher carb things (ie. LC ice cream). I was so mad at myself for giving into the LC ice cream last night. I thought after I finished eating it now why did you do that?! DH could tell I was upset and ask me about it. He said, "But you only had a sm. amount. It wasn't like you binged on it or anything." I tend to be so hard on myself even when I eat a legal treat. You know I think it is that I start out the day with a plan for myself of what I am going to do. Then, I do pretty well to only sabotage myself late at night.

Oh well....guess I've said my peace. Here is my menu from yesterday:

B~Atkins shake=2
L~Lettuce hamburger w/ cheese & mayo=1.5
S~Atkins bar(2), CCD milk(3)=5
D~Salad(3), ranch(3), wings(5?)=11
D~LC ice cream w/ CCD milk=5

T~24.5 + hidden carbs in wings

Hi Beth....hang in there. I read an article that it is "normal" to fluctuate in weight up to 5 pounds a day....a pound is nothing! I think you are doing great, the scale will catch up soon.
You are only about 10 pounds away from goal.....it will just take a little bit longer, but you will get there.

I'm so sorry about how you're feeling Beth.

I understand your frustration. Wish there was something I could do to help, but I just don't know how to. Your menu always looks so good. You hardly cheat, so I don't get it either, unless you're just one of those that has to eat really low carb to lose. Did you eat any differently when you were losing consistently?

Like Jennifer said, they say those last 10 pounds can be so hard to lose. I've read that many really up their exercise in time and intensity to lose.

Sorry about having to fire an employee. I've had to fire people, some a bit aggressive, and it is never easy.

Your husband is right about the ice cream. You're not gorging on it. We're all too hard on ourselves, though.

Love you and will be praying for you tonight.

Here Sweet Beth,

Prayer for Renewal

Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday. My mom called and asked me if I would come clean her house (she pays good!). I was there all day and into the evening.

Thanks everyone for checking on me and giving me kind words and prayers. I think I am just going through one of my slumps (pity party). I'm sure I will be back to normal soon. I have to constantly remind myself that my weight is NOT the most important thing in my life. It's funny how God will remind you of that if you forget. Yesterday my friend Kim called me crying. She was rushing her dad to the hospital to have emergency eye surgery and wanted me to pray. His retina had detached in 3 places. If they didn't do the surgery right away he was going to lose his eye. Wow, and I thought I had problems because I was feeling a little fat. By the way, he did get the surgery and it went well.

Eating has been good the last couple of days. Still going for the ice cream at night though. Note to self...every time I buy the LC Rocky Road ice cream I have trouble resisting it. It's gone now...gonna buy NO more! I've gotten away from drinking my water lately. Gonna get back on that today. I have had lots of exercise this week. I have now two good weeks of being active. Giving myself a pat on the back.

I was looking back in my notebook to see if I was eating anything different when my weight was at 131-132. Nope. I was eating all OWL foods. That's what has frustrated me. When I go back to eating lower carb, nothing is changing. I might as well go back to eating yogurt, peanut butter, nuts etc.
I really wish I could figure this thing out.

Menu from Wednesday:

B~Atkins shake
L~Chicken & Steak fajitas w/ guac. salad & sc
S~Atkins bar & tea w/ splenda
D~Salad, ranch, ribs w/ no sauce

Menu from Yesterday:

B~Atkins shake
L~Chicken ceasar salad(just lettuce & parm cheese), ceasar dressing, tea w/ splenda
S~Cream cheese & Lindt chocolate melted together
D~Steak & chicken seasoned w/ greek seasoning, salad, ranch
L~LC ice cream

I have got to be PMSing. I have been irritable and craving chocolate!

I haven't eaten breakfast yet. I think I will go fix some protein pancakes and try out my new Davinci's pancake syrup.
