Betcha the Thai food was loaded with MSG-it causes hunger and cravings like that after it's ingested. If it was you have found a trigger ingredient to stay away from so maybe you can consider this a helpful learning experience. Good luck staying on track!

You are right Lisa. I didn't even think about the additional chemicals that could have made things worse. I really hate that I can't eat Thai food but after the problems I had with it I will stay away!!

HI EVERYONE!! I am finally able to get on here today. I have been so busy today. Besides the normal stuff, DD had a eye appointment. We are finally back home and the little ones have laid down for a nap. DS and DD are so excited about the carnival tonight. I got out of the attic some costumes my older two wore at their age. They picked Winnie the Pooh and Elmo. They are going to look so cute. We are going to the church tonight where they will have dinner and all kinds of events. I WILL stay away from the candy! I have goodies in the freezer and I will munch on some of that before I go so I will not want anything sweet.
Do you think after a while and losing a lot of weight your body fat can shift to different areas? I have been feeling very fat in my stomach area lately. It is if I have gained weight but the scales haven't showed it. I can't tell if it is loose skin or fat. When I sit down there is this roll over the top of my pants (and I'm not talking little roll either). I feel funny when I say that because I wonder if there are eyes rolling. I just remember when I would hear ladies that were "skinny" say how big there stomach were and they only had a tiny pooch. I would think to myself as I grabbed my handfuls of fat and say now I've got your fat stomach right here! HONESTLY, I REALLY DO HAVE A BIG FAT ROLL OVER MY PANTS (also remember that I am very short)! I just don't remember it being that bad a few months ago. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. ![]() Menu from yesterday: B~More spinach quiche(3), coffee w/ 1/2n1/2(1)=4 S~Mixed nuts=2 L~Chicken topped w/ provolone cheese, onions, green peppers(3), sm. salad(2), ranch(3)=9 S~PMS chocolate(2), CCD milk(3)=5 D~Grilled shrimp on Caesar salad=6 D~Linda's chewy pb candy(5), coffee w/ 1/2n1/2(1)=6 T~32 Ketone stick this morning: trace-sm Water yesterday: 32 oz. (maybe more) Exercise: walking Fat %: 32.7 (went down from 33.3) Water%: 46.7 (up from 46.2)

Could be what some call jiggly puff, where you get jiggly in an area just before a whoosh.
![]() I do think that weight shifts. I've seen my weight shift in the last couple months. Have fun tonight. We have a carnival at our church also. Don't think I'll spend much time there, but the boys will be there the whole time. |

Sue~Oh, a whoosh would be awesome but my faith wavers on that one happening.
I am trying to decide what to do about dinner. They will have hotdogs at church but I don't know if I want to eat them. To me hotdogs are one of those things that are way too good with the bun. It's the feeling of that soft bread as you bite into it. I just don't know if I will be hungry when we leave. I may just try telling myself that I am NOT hungry while I am there. I used to do that when I was in college in order to lose weight. I'm tired.... and when I feel like I do now I really have to watch myself so that I don't get in a "I don't care" mood. Why is it after we lose weight we feel like we can go back to eating the wrong things and still stay the same? It's work I tell you.....pure work to stay on track!!! UGH!How's your day going? |

I'm going to whine and confess that my feet hurt and my Dad is in the hospital, DH is sick AND threw his back out, so my day is just o.k. On a good note, I have a lime cheesecake in the oven to take to my folks house this weekend, and it smells heavenly.
![]() I'd eat before I went, Beth. I'm not a hot dog fan, but when I'm hungry, anything sounds good. Here's hoping for a whoosh for you. |

I'm so sorry Sue. I don't even think I mentioned your dad when I posted in your journal now that I think about it.
I hope by the weekend some of these things will be much better. I will pray for you tonight. The lime cheesecake.....OH MY......DH would have a fit over that one. Does it taste anything like key lime? Please post the recipe. I posted the spinach quiche recipe that I made. It was wonderful! I made some of Linda's pb chewy candy yesterday. It's good too. I think I like the PMS candies better. The texture is what throws me off on some of those cheesecakes. I need to keep experimenting. The trouble is that I want to taste too much when I am fixing it. ![]() |

The lime cheesecake was alright. I made Beachgirl's basic cheesecake recipe, but added some lime jello powder to the mix. I like the cheesecake pudding better, and adding the lime jello powder to that would be good.

Jennifer~
I KNOW what you mean about the C-sections. I had 4 c-sections, 2 D&C, and a hysterectomy. My stomach has been stretched and cut on way too much. I guess I should give myself a break about it. I'm sure I could help it some by exercising everyday but I just haven't found the willpower to be disciplined with it. I have too many other things to focus on right now (namely 5 other people).Sue~I know there are so many ways you can use that cheesecake pudding. I plan to play with it during the holidays. It's so yummy. I think it would be a beautiful dessert to layer with strawberries/blueberries/raspberries in a clear bowl. My weight went up this morning to 133.6. Also going up was my water (46.9%) but my fat went down(32.4) so I know it was just water weight. I'm sure it was the cabbage I ate for lunch and the 2 hot dogs I ate for dinner. I did end up eating the hot dogs (without buns) there at the carnival. I also had a few spoonfuls of chili (which was meat and very little sauce). I don't know what the sauce was that was on there. It tasted a lot like Manwich sauce.Well, today is the beginning of the month. Wow, did October go fast or what?! I started this month weighing 131.6. So, I gained 2 pounds this month. So much for hoping to get in the 120's this month. I ate out way too much this month and had way too many sweets. I will do better this month. I am just feeling very stuffed at this weight. I think I am backed up as well. That is the only thing I hate about doing Atkins. I am considering making Metamusil a regular part of my plan. I was reading on the container the other night that it helps with cholesterol too. So, it wouldn't hurt me to be regular with it.Menu from yesterday: B~1 egg(.6), protein shake(4-almond milk,1/2 vanilla LC yogurt, choc. pp, spinach), coffee w/ H&H(1)=5 S~few nuts=1 L~Cabbage and Hamburger topped with sour cream & Parmesan=7.5 S~PMS chocolate(3), CCD milk(3)=6 D~2 hot dogs(2), chili(2)=4 T~23.5 Ketone stick this morning: small Water yesterday: 32oz. Exercise yesterday: none Water % 46.9 (up from 46.7) Fat % 32.4 (down from 32.7) |

Thanks everyone for your weekend messages. I'm fine...just had a busy weekend. I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted. Time goes by fast! So here's a recap to get caught up on my journal.
Thursday~Weighed 133.6. Did well on menu until late that night. I had a major chocolate cravings. I ended up basically binging on legal chocolates. One of my binges included chocolate and oatmeal together. I was craving oatmeal really bad. Friday~Weighed 133. I ended up eating more oatmeal for breakfast (1/4 cup) and then the rest of the day was good eating....salad, meat, veggies. Sat.~Weighed 132.8. We had our schools fall festival all day. My eating was great. I was so busy I didn't even eat any lunch. Got some exercise at the festival as well. Sun.~Weighed 132.6. I started this week weighing 134.2. So, I lost 1.6 pounds this week! My eating was good yesterday. I ended up snacking a little in the afternoon on popcorn and an Atkins bar so I just didn't eat any dinner. Today....I weighed 133.2. I know it's because of the snacking. I plan on getting back to exercising today. I have been so slack doing it. My treadmill calls me everyday. I just wish I had more energy. Maybe more will come when I start doing it. This week seems like it is going to be a little less hectic for me. I don't have any appointments. I really am in hopes of getting some projects done this week and catch up on other things. I am REALLY liking the time change. It was so much easier to get up this morning with the light coming in my windows. The kids are going to bed so much earlier so I have more time in the evenings. I am feeling pretty good today. I am really believing this month I can make a difference in my weight. I just have to work hard. ![]() |

Good afternoon Beth.
Hope you can get a lot done on your projects this week with a slower week. Chocolate and oatmeal? Sounds yummy. So, are you going to add oatmeal in? Have you tried steel cut oats? I love them and am hoping that someday I can add that in. I'm going to work hard to make a dent in my weight loss also this month! Let's keep each other accountable. |
