You know, you can get cranberry pills (no sugar). I take them whenever I feel like I need to for a couple of days in a row. I got my big bottle at Walmart.
Woo Hoo on the 142! Thats awesome April will bring you the 130's for sure!I don't know what to tell you about DH That has got to be very frustrating for both of you. But at least he has an example of what persistance can do....you have done so great! I mean, unfortunately, there are no real "tricks," unless you count just hanging in there and pushing through the stalls and fluctuations as a "trick!"Well, I'm flying home tomorrow...it's a whole day thing (UGH!) so I doubt I will be on tomorrow. So I will more than likely talk to you Tuesday!

Feeling a little better this morning.
Last night it felt like I had the flu on top of the UTI. I am sure it was the medicine. Thanks for all your well wishes. Krysta, I did have some of those cranberry pills and I took some yesterday. I was so glad that I had them. Well, I was up this morning...142.6. I am not surprised with all that went on with my body yesterday. No sweat...It will go down again. Menu from yesterday: B~egg salad(1.8)=1.8 S~1 cup of Calorie Countdown Milk(3)=3 L~Steakums w/onion, mushroom, cheese=3 S~macadamia nuts(1), SF pickle(1)=2 D~LC homemade pepp.& cheese pizza=6 Total: 15.8 AND.......160 oz of water!!!! Do you think I might be retaining some of it? Kids are out of school this whole week. I will be busy taking care of them. We will pick up #3's glasses tomorrow. We never found them, so I had to order some more. This time the insurance did not pay for them....$160.00. They allow them to only have one pair per year....they call it neglect! We also have hair appointments. And, I will be trying to prepare for my brother who is coming with his girlfriend that I haven't met. Lots of fun. Hope you have a prosperous day today!! You guys are the best friends! ![]()

I hope DH is encouraged by that loss. 160 oz of water??? You must have been drowning. I feel like I've really accomplished something if I can get 100 oz in.
We are on Spring Break also this week. DD went to MIL's house for a few days and the boys are being crazy with air soft guns around here. I'm staying INSIDE! It's dangerous out there. |

WOOHOO for DH, and I know that has to give you some relief as well. Sorry you are having to pay for the glasses, but I guess you don't have much choice, huh ?

Thanks so much dd2collin. I also love your other website www.vine3.org. I believe that prayer changes things too!!
Good morning everyone! It is an exciting day around our house today. We are putting in a basketball court for the kids. I went back down to 142 this morning! I knew it would come back down! DH stayed the same. I know that he will drop some more soon. He is frustrated because he thinks since he is still doing induction that it should be falling off. I am confused as well but try to encourage him to keep going forward. I forgot how bad the mood swings can be when you start doing Atkins. I remember just how moody I was too. It is harder being on the other side of it. I guess it is payback time. He used to tell me that my weight determined my mood for the day. Now I understand! Yuck!I got some walking in yesterday pushing the stroller. That was about all the exercise I could do. I am trying to take it easy being on antibiotics. Menu from yesterday: B~Atkins bar(couldn't stomach eggs and had no shakes)=2 S~Chocolate PB treats (I'm guessing here...had a really bad craving time...made some treats...had quite a bit of it while it was melted...then had some more after it hardened....bad girl!!)=8 L~Taco Salad=4 D~Steak(1), salad(5) w/ ranch(1.5), 2 wings (.8)=8.3 Total: 22.3 I will tell you....if you are reading my journal and have not started a notebook/journal for yourself.....I highly suggest it. It keeps you accountable and helps you keep track of your carbs. I wish I had done this a long time ago. I think I would be further along the way if I had kept track. I kept track of what I was eating but not the carbs. It makes a world of difference!! |

About our DH's.......I'm at mine right now because we have a little contest going on with measurements. We measure every two weeks and see who has lost the most, percentage wise. I am so careful with what I eat, but he just eats, eats, eats, snacks every night, yada, yada, yada, and he DOUBLED my percentage of inches lost! Grrrrrrrr. Tell your DH to measure instead of going by the scale, and I'll bet he'll see a big difference. I do my DH despite him winning. Beth, you have inspired me to put my menu in my on-line journal, not just the one at home.

That sounds like a great suggestion. Now I have to find the measuring tape!
I can't wait to see the menu. It sure helps me keep accountable. I don't want to show everyone mistakes. So far not made any! |

Hello Princess. Congrats on those scales this morning. I agree with Sue, if he will measure I bet he will see a difference. (If I ever find a real one - I will too).
I definately want to see the pictures of the basketball area ![]() Sorry about you feeling bad about eating the chocolate. I don't really crave chocolate. I craved french fries and Doritos. I think you did a good job making something ... there were much worse things you could have eaten. Hope you are having a great evening. |

Candy~I crave chocolate all the time....I never get tired of it. The only time I really want french fries is if we have gone to McDonald's with the kids. I wish there was a substitute for those.
Yesterday was really busy ....eye appt., hair appt., running here and there with errands. I don't think we got back home until 8:30. Then, I had to figure out what to fix myself. Everyone else had eaten. The basketball court didn't get finished yesterday. They are suppose to come tomorrow and fill it in. I think we are really going to like it. The rain was good last night to pack down the soil before pouring the cement.DH has a business trip he has to go to tonight and wants all of us to go with him. It is a few hours away. They have an indoor swimming pool. The kids are real excited. It will be a short getaway. I'm not sure if DH is taking his computer or not, so I might not have access. I will be back on here Thurs. if not. Oh, I almost forgot about my weight!!! I weighed 141.8 this morning!! Woo Hoo!! I am getting so close to the 130's that I can taste it. I am hoping it will be this week, but I am scared to say it because I know how the scales can go. I am crossing my fingers! Menu from yesterday: B~Atkins Shake(2)=2 L~Bun less hamburger w/ cheese(1), and one of the kids nuggets..oops..(2)=3 S~Atkins shake(1)=1 D~Salmon w/ sauce(3)=3 D~Homemade treat(6)=6 Total: 16 |

Beth~have you tried the "dirty fries" or something like that? You just toss frozen green beans in some oil (I use olive oil) and bake them, maybe at 350, until they are crispy. These are good. You could also try slicing turnips or jicima into french fry shapes and frying them.
The BB court sounds fun. We have about 3 acres, and so have made a baseball field in our big field. It's been wonderful. When DH was coaching, we could hold practices here. Right now three teams are practicing on our field. DH has to do a bit of crowd control sometimes. ![]() Enjoy your trip. Sounds fun. I think we are going to the coast on Friday, just for the day. We have too much going on to be gone overnight. You'll be in the 130s in no time, my dear! |

I can forgo almost EVERYTHING...I can pass up pasta, chips, french fries, mashed potatoes, all that, but chocolate is my weakness! I Chocolate!! Fortunately, it's something I can have back in moderation once I am in maintenance, so it works for me!And awesome job on the weight loss! 141! I told you you would catch up to me I have a feeling it's going to take some time for me to bust through the high 130's because that's where I maintained for 2 years last time I was on plan. I'm sure my body is thinking "This is where I'm supposed to be. Why does she keep trying to get me to lose more??" Sigh. |

BTW -- TT is having some "mesotherapy" injections to break up the fat/cellulite left in her upper legs/butt/thigh area (I think those are the areas). Here is the link to where she posted it: A Diamond in the Rough -- Candy's Journey

I was so frustrated yesterday! I could not get on here! I don't know if anyone else had that problem. I could go anywhere else on the Internet but just not here! Anyways...I'm back today. I have a lot of catching up to do.
First of all, our little trip was OK. It was more trouble than it was worth. We are just a big group to try to cram even in a Suite. I kept up with what I ate but didn't get to weigh one day. Here is a recap: 4/4 B~1/2 cup cottage cheese(2), 2 strawberries (1.8)=3.8 L~salad(4), ranch(2), chicken(1), green beans(2)=9 D~salad(5), ranch(2), steak, coffee w/ 1/2n1/2(1)=8 T=20.8 4/5 B~Atkins shake(2), bite of egg(.3)=2.3 L~chicken breast=0 S~3 mac. nuts(1), Atkins bar(2)=3 D~Red Lobster: Lobster tail(0), grilled shrimp(0), shrimp scampi(2), broccoli(4), salad w/ ranch(11)=17 T=22.3 4/6 B~2 eggs scrambled(1.2) w/ cheese(.5), bacon(0)=1.7 L~Hamburger pattie w/ cheese(1)=1 D~Chuck roast(0), green beans(2), mockafoni & cheese(3), tomato slice(1), coffee w/ 1/2n1/2(1)=7 D~I cheated for the first time...thanks Krysta....I had one bite of chocolate pound cake...yummy...have no clue the carb count!! T=9.7.......plus the cheat....but I think I am OK...didn't know the count was so low! So here's the weight recap: 4/4: 141.8 4/5: ? 4/6: 142.2 4/7: 140.4 I was really happy...now if I can just maintain or lose some more for tomorrow's weekly count. I started out the week with 142. I was calculating that I need to lose 1.5 pounds to meet my goal by end of June. It feels like I can see it at this point! I saw my brother for the first time since Christmas. His reaction will stay in my mind forever! His mouth dropped open and he showered me with praises! |

Hey Beth
... apparently a few folks had trouble get in yesterday. I think you had to go to lowcarfriends.com/bbs (instead of just lowcarbfriends.com then clicking on the tabs). Anywhoo .... it's great to see you !!! I am so proud of your loss !! Hmm ... shrimp scampi my fav. dish from Red Lobster, never thought about it being LC. good to know. And your brother's reaction ... priceless ![]() |
