That chicken sounds good.

I used the Rev Rolls for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches yesterday, but then didn't feel like using them. DH did and liked it.

Have a blessed Sunday. Hope you got lots of rest yesterday.

Hey there sweets..

congrats to hd.. that's way cool.. ..

you'll be back in full swing of things come Monday.. I have no doubt!!
I was bad as well.. I mean.. I haven't been in full swing.. but I have been trying to be half way good..lol.. but I caved to the mean chocolate craving monster and ate I don't know how many Hersheys kisses with peanut butter in them.... and let me tell you.. I had the head ache from... you know where the rest of the night....then I got upset with Korbey.. then I cried about it..making my head ache worse.. ALL FOR CHOCOLATE.. UGH.. so it didn't make me happy.. it made me miserable..

live and learn right?.. The sad part is.. when I get my next craving , I will conveniently forget about this mishap..

OK.. here's to a better Sunday..

see ya later.. have a great day!!

Hi Beth!

Congrats on your success at the big meeting! How wonderful that you and your sons were able to witness DH at his best. Y'all should be so proud!

You have such a strong will, Beth, and are already back on track, but I will continue to pray for your commitment to this WOE. (None of us want to go back where we were! Yikes!)

When you have a chance, could you post your squash casserole recipe? I can't seem to find it, and have some lovely squash to use!

Have a great LC day!

Dearest Beth,

I KNOW you will be back on track today! You are a strong woman.

Hearty congrats to DH, I can't wait to follow his success. I am sure he will continue to inspire and inform others.

I am a little nervous about my doctor's appointment today. I have never met this doctor and I am really hoping she supports my WOE and gives me a great report. I don't have any blood work to compare with, but I am sure that if everything comes back normal that will be a good sign. I don't know how they do their blood work. At DH's doctor they have him come in before the appointment so they have the results there. I may have to wait on mine. Anyway, wish me luck.

We had a wonderful afternoon with my parents yesterday. We went further north into the mountains to see if we could see some leaves changing. They weren't in full force yet. Only a few were changing. We always go together every year. The next couple of weekends are going to be busy so we thought we should go ahead. We did get some awesome pumpkins and corn to decorate our homes. There was a restaurant my mom and I had been wanting to go to and we were able to eat there yesterday. I took some pictures but haven't had time to download them yet. Maybe later.

I am starting today to keep up with my menus again. I did well yesterday. There were lots of temptations around me, but I stayed true. I am really dreading the scales at the doctor's today. First of all it will be in the afternoon. Second of all I really don't know where I am since my scales have been giving me crazy numbers (at least I hope they have been crazy!) So, for fun sake...how many pounds do you think I can subtract when I see what I weigh this afternoon....keeping in mind that I will have clothes on(lightest clothes I can find)...I will remove my shoes....and it will be in the afternoon. I'm silly I know.

I will give a full report this evening.

Beth, I say you can subtract at least 5-7 pounds, first because Dr's scales are ALWAYS way to high, you'll have clothes on, you'll have eating, and gained water weight throughout the day. Maybe even 10 pounds!!!!

I wouldn't worry about the Dr's scales. Get a got scale and go by that. You know how much you've lost on your scales, so the Dr.'s ones don't matter. I weighed 198 the last time I went to the gyno, so I know my loss will be good when I go in next.

Sounds like a fun day with your folks yesterday. Glad you stayed on plan, despite your temptations.

Can't wait to hear your report later today.

Thanks Sue!

I have GREAT NEWS!! My doctor's visit went very well!! I really like the doctor I picked. She was VERY supportive in what I have been doing. She just bragged and bragged about my success in losing weight. She fully supports the Atkins plan and said that it was great that I had made this a WOL for myself.

My blood pressure was 100 over 60 which she said couldn't be any more perfect. My weight was 135 which I would guess is really probably 131 since I had clothes on and it being afternoon....maybe lower???? I will get my blood work in a few days but she was almost certain everything will be perfect.

She went straight for the BMI numbers and was very happy with mine. She said that any doctor is happy with BMI at 30 and mine was at 28. The chart wants people at 25 but she told me that if you were at 25 you would be in PERFECT health. I asked her about losing more weight and she said that it would be fine to work toward reaching a BMI at 25 so that I would have a little wiggle room to work with on my weight. To reach a BMI of 25 I need to shoot for weighing 120-125. She didn't want me going any lower than 120. So, I was right in my target goal weight!

She wanted me to concentrate now on building muscle by working with small weights as well on continuing to walk on the treadmill. She thought lifting weights would be the key to losing those last pounds. She also wanted me to make sure I was taking vitamins and calcium. I was given a paper that listed what vitamins I needed and the amounts.

The only criticism she said that the medical profession had with the Atkins plan was that people don't continue to follow it after they get the weight off. That they tend to add back things too quickly and not follow the way Dr. Atkins said to do and end up gaining the weight back. She encouraged me to move slowly and really make this a lifestyle.

So, now we wait for the proof. I'm excited to see how it turns out. They will also be testing my hormone levels and thyroid. I'll let you know when I get it back!

Talk to everyone tomorrow!

Yippee! Wow, what a great job you have done, and what a blessing that your Doc is so wonderful and supportive!

I LOVE your new pic, you are such a beautiful woman, inside and out.

Hope all is well at your home, and that DH has had a chance to reflect on his speaking engagement and feel fulfilled.

Peace

Good news about your appointment. It's nice that your doc is supportive of Atkins. When I told mine several years ago that I was doing this, he said it was a terrible diet. Ah well, I didn't listen to him. So, your weight was great! Glad things went well and that your BP was good!

I think doing weights is a great idea. When I was doing them several years ago I had energy through the roof and felt soooo good. I really need to start them up again.

Good morning! My appointment yesterday has put me on a high. I have found new energy towards moving forward with my WOE. I have to be honest and tell you that I was really struggling there with my emotions and how this was working for me. Not that I was thinking of quiting by no means, just discouraged that it wasn't working for me anymore.

My stupid scales played a lot towards my attitude which it stupid in itself I know but what can I say, I am still ruled by those scales. Now that I know that my scales were approximately 6 pounds off I feel so much better. I really couldn't understand how I could be gaining weight and the fact that I was on the bloated side caused my imagination to support what I was seeing on my scales! It really put a strain on my emotions and therefore my eating which were not a good match. It's funny how quickly one can get to the "screw it" mentality. The thing it revealed to me is that I still have a long way to go emotionally with concquering my addition to carbs/sugar. But today, I feel liberated to continue pressing forward and hopeful that in the next few months I will see goal.

With all that in mind, my stupid scales (which I will have to keep until next month in hopes of buying a Tanita scale) read 136.4 this morning. With it being 6 pounds off, that would put me at 130.4 this morning! I hope I am figuring this right....tell me if you feel differently. Yesterday morning I weighed 137. Then, at the doctor's office in the afternoon I weighed 135 with clothes on. In figuring 4 pounds for afternoon and clothes that puts me at 131 which means a 6 pound difference. Whatcha think? Oh, also putting this number in the BMI calculations it brings me to 27 not 28 (doctor's numbers on 135). Only 2 more points!

Alright....enough about that. My boys are starting basketball season. I had hoped they would follow a similar practice schedule as Cross-Country but they are not. They had practice until 8pm last night. The middle school team practices after school and they have to go to study hall while waiting for the gym. I am not happy about this at all. It means that either DH has to work late and not have dinner with me or I have to go pick them up late with the little ones(If anyone is reading this for the first time, we live 30 minutes from the school). It really pushes back bedtime for the little ones and leaves no time to spend with them. I am in hopes that this schedule is only for before the games begin and not for the whole season. Maybe other parents will complain. Oh, did I tell you that we have a former NBA player for a coach. This may have something to do with it. The boys are excited anyway.

Menu from yesterday:

B~Flax seed muffin w/ cream cheese & DS=4
L(11:30)~protein shake=5
LS(6:30)~nuts (waiting on DH to get off work so we could go to dinner...starving!)=4
D~Red Lobster~Stuffed mushrooms(4?), salad(3), ranch(2), shrimp scampi(1), lobster tail(0), couple of broccoli florets(1)=11
D~ sm. amt. of cheesecake pudding=2

T~26

Ketone stick this morning: trace
Water yesterday: not enough
Exercise yesterday: cleaning house (but I did walk/run 2 miles the night before )

I am thinking maybe us dragging him to all Korbey's stuff may have done it?.. he did play a year of baseball.. he didn't like it.. maybe he thinks the others will be as boring as baseball.... he is a mover and grover..lol. he plays with korbey and dh all the time.. football in the yard.. or basketball.. but he doesn't wanna be on a team.. and he would be very good.. who knows.. I SO try every time he brings the sign up papers home.. oh well.. I wish your boys the best .. have fun fun fun..

I'm on the run so I'll post later. I think new scales are a good idea because home scales are usually lower than the Dr.'s scales, not the other way around.

I'm glad you have a new outlook on this WOE, Beth. That is exciting, and it is getting me motivated to do well also. Isn't it amazing how your motivation helps me?

Another motivation for me these past couple days since I got my new clothes is looking in the mirror and being happy with what I see. My pants were just too baggy to look slim in and my new jeans and pants really do flatter my figure. I hope I'm not bragging - just feel good about how I look in them. So, I'm looking forward to seeing these get baggy.

What a schedule you're going to have. I don't envy you one bit. Neither of my boys are in basketball. Oldest DH's next sport will be wrestling, and not sure if youngest DS will do anything until baseball starts next Feb or March.

Jaime, Sue, & Monet~You ladies make me smile this morning. I have the best friends in the whole wide world here! I couldn't ask for better support!

OOOOOKKKKKK, my stupid scales weighed me in a 134 this morning! With my new calculations (of my scales being 6 pds. off) that puts me at 128? I'm going to go after I pick up DS today and get some new scales whatever the cost! If I am in the 120's I have to see it!!! I just can't believe it until I see it!

To be honest, I really don't feel like I'm in the 120's. My clothes aren't any looser. Sorry to be on the negative side with this...I guess I am just holding out so I'm not disappointed.

I really expected to be up this morning and here's the reason why. Since I didn't have to go anywhere after picking up DS at 12:00, I decided to work on one of my projects yesterday. I started cleaning out the attic. We have access to our attic through the upstairs bonus room. It's our little storage area. I have been stashing clothes everyone has outgrown for a while. I worked all day going through stuff (worked up a good sweat)...up and down the stairs. Last night I just felt miserable. I was tired and bloated. I didn't hardly eat any dinner....just nibbled on a pot roast I had cooked in the crock pot. I felt like my stomach was up in my throat. I don't think I included in my post about my doctor's visit that I had gotten a tetanus shot. My arm was killing me last night and my body ached . I ended up having to take a Ibuprofen to ease the pain. This morning I just felt like I was retaining water. So, you see my dilemma in believing what I see.

On the brighter side of yesterday's clean out....I found couple skinny clothes that I am going to work hard to get into. One was a old pair of jeans and dress pants that I held onto that I wore when I was in college. I got in them yesterday but couldn't zip them. This will be a good test for me to judge if I am losing inches. I also found a dress that I wore years ago that I could fit into. I was happy with that! I tried on my leather coat DH got me for Christmas last year. It was HUGE on me. I am going to try to sell it. I think he paid $150 for it. Of course, I only wore it a dozen times so it's really brand new. It's a large East Fifth genuine leather black coat if anyone is interested.

I have to take DD to get a shot today. I really dread it. Plus I don't like taking them in the doctor's office when they aren't sick and putting them at risk. So, pray for her.

Menu from yesterday:

B~Protein pancakes(5), syrup(1), CCD milk(2)=8
L~Salad(3), ranch(2), sirloin burger w/ cheese(1), mayo(.2), bacon(0), slice of tomato(.5)=7.7
D~Pot roast(0), cup of CCD milk(4)=4
L~1 tsp. of peanut butter= .6

T~20.3

Ketone stick this morning: trace
Water yesterday: 64 oz.
Exercise yesterday: Attic clean-up!

I bought a scale finally! I got a Tanita scale from Target. I came home and weighed. It read 135 and that was after I ate lunch. I am a little disappointed that it wasn't lower. So, we shall see what it says in the morning. I don't think I will weigh as low as I am hoping but at least I can go from there and stop guessing. My scales also measure water and body fat which should be interesting. I will post those as well.
