Hi Beth. Just popped in to see how you are doing.
Don't get too discouraged about losing slowly. At least you are losing, and think about the wonderful things that are happening in your body because you're feeding it right. Hope the kiddos are doing better. |

Hi Sue! The kiddos are getting better. We are still not completely well though. Hope things are good with you today!
Candy, I wrote you a book on in your journal! Lisa, I am so glad you came over here! I would love to see your face every day! Thanks for the info on the scales. I am very curious! Short and simple...I went down .2 (144.2) this morning. My body just can't make up it's mind between those weights. DH went up .5. He is very frustrated. I have to keep reminding him that it is a process and he has already lost what most lose in the two weeks. I was very busy yesterday. I went to bed late and was hurting all over. I think rest has a big part to play in the weight loss game. I haven't been getting much of it. I will be glad to get to the weekend!Menu for yesterday: Breakfast~Atkins Shake(1)=1 Lunch~1/2 Zaxby's salad w/o fried onions (3.5), 1 pk ranch (5)=8.5 Snack~3 white grapes (2)=2 Dinner~Parmesan Chicken strips (3), 2 cups raw spinach (.5), 2 T Olive G dressing (2)=5.5 Total: 17 I don't know if I will be able to get on here too much while my company is here. I will see. They are not doing any low carbing, so it will be interesting to see how we handle it all. I did have to go buy a bunch of junk food for them to snack on.(I wasn't tempted to eat any of it...yea!) They eat a lot of pasta dishes, but we are not going to fix any. I think I will fix a roast and maybe grill some steaks while they are here. Breakfast will be easy. I did get some biscuits for them. I hope it doesn't tempt DH too much since he just started. He is very determined though, so I don't think he will cheat. I just want him to start losing again. I will let you know how it all turns out. The first picture I posted up at the top in my journal (Aug. 06) was the last time I saw my best friend that is coming. It was right before I started doing low carb. After I saw those pictures I knew I had to do something. She doesn't know that I have been doing LC. I can't wait to see what she will say!!

You look so good, and are doing so well, you have much to be proud of. I have a question about the Green tea, forgive me but I am a newbie, is the green tea for weight loss or health, or maybe both? Is this a drink or tablet? I have heard so many things about green tea but I normally do not drink tea of any kind... Thanks... |

Hey darling Beth! Good luck with the friends visiting...I have come to find out that when you have guests and are fixing food for them, they don't even NOTICE that you are serving a LC meal if you don't say anything! Roasts and steaks seems so fancy, that most people just think you are preparing a special meal just for them! I tell my mom all the time, if people want to eat with us, they can eat what we are having! And I have never heard one of them complain
I also can't WAIT to hear what your friends have to say about your loss! KUTGW, my dear friend, and I will talk to you again later! PS~ I got those super omega complex pills with the 3, 6, and 9 omega fatty acids. I'm hoping they will help with my cholesterol, which I am going to get re-checked on the 19th of April.

OK, so I had a minute this morning to give you an extended update. First of all...
dd2colin!! So glad you showed up here in my journal! I drink the green tea for health and weight loss. The friend who introduced me to LC was drinking it every day. So, I cut out all carbonated beverages and substituted it with Diet Green Tea. I drink the Lipton ones in the bottle at Walmart. I also buy some to brew in case I am out of the bottles. I have found that it has been a great substitute for sodas and juice in my life. Plus it is really good for you! Hope you stick around! This is a great way to stay on track!Candy~that was fine about posting the info about Olive Garden!! Hope things have been going well over in your "neck of the woods". I am going to visit in a minute! Krysta~ what a surprise to see your face! How is it going? I miss you! It is funny what you suggest I fix for dinner...that is what I bought. We had steaks last night and we are having roast (or chicken) tonight! Keep checking in with us! Sue~been missing you...where are you? Alright, here is what has been going on at my house! There has been lots of fun and noise. We have 6 kids and 4 adults. So, far I have done like normal staying on plan. It wasn't until last night when we were playing cards that I really had a sweet craving. My guest were eating big bowls of ice cream, and I was really wanting some. I just got out my LC ice cream and ate a couple of spoonfuls and I was fine. Other than that I have been fine. When our friends used to live here our big thing was getting together and having lots of food. Most times we would have pasta or jambalaya. There would be lots of goodies too. So, it was kinda weird not drowning in the junk the last couple of days. I think DH is having a harder time than me, but he has been faithful. They are going to see a movie today so that will be the real test for him. I'm going to get caught up on my menus now..... 3/27 B~4 slices of bacon (.1), L~Atkins shake(1), S~cheese stick(1), D~1/2 Z. salad(3.5) & ranch(5) =10.5......no time to eat! 3/28 B~2 eggs(1.2), 4 bacon(.1), coffee w/ SF cream(2)=3.2 L~2 hamburgers w/ cheese(1), side salad(4) w/ ranch(2.5)=7.5 S~cheese stick(1), 1/2 bar(1)=2 D~steak(0), small salad w/topping(1.4), mock bake potato(3)=4.4 T~1/2 cup LC ice cream (4)=19.2 I posted that my weight had finally started going back down yesterday. I wasn't sure if the scales were right because I was weighing in a different bathroom. You know how that goes when you move the scales. This morning my scales were in their normal place. I weighed 142.8!! I really hope that this is true. I know my girlfriend got on them this morning too, and sometimes the scales read different if someone else has been on them. They usually weigh higher though. I guess we will see in the next few days if they were right. Cross your fingers for me! DH has been up every day. I don't know what is going on. I am really hoping he doesn't throw in the towel. Well, I am off to another successful day! They are leaving Friday around lunch so, I will catch up with you more later! |

Hi Beth~it's been so busy around here the last week, and will continue to be for another week. The kids are on Spring Break next week, so we might be going on a trip.
Sounds like you've done well with your eating while friends are around. I know that DH has a much harder time staying on plan where there is company and goodies combined, although last weekend he turned down B'day cake at MIL's house. I was proud of him. I'll be gone a lot of the weekend. My uncle died and the funeral is tomorrow, and I will have guests with me. You are doing great! Keep it up! ![]()

I'm actually going to call the airline and see if I can get a flight home tomorrow, now that I've got the house (barring any unforseen circumstances!) It will be nice to be able to weigh on my own scales! Anyway, I will talk to you again SOON! KUTGREATW!!
PS~Now that I've got a new house, I think I'm going to spend the day in the furniture stores looking at stuff to put IN it! ![]() |

Wow! I was so surprised to see that everyone had visited me! I feel so loved today!
Well, my friends have gone. I don't know when I will see them again. The friend that was here(Lori) said that she would be calling me for advice when she got started on LC. Her husband is set to have his stomach stapled in a couple of months. She told me that afterwards that he would have to be doing Atkins anyway so she would just do it with him. She lost like 5 pounds while she was here. I think she is motivated. Everything went well though. We ended up going out last night. I did make one oops though. You will see in my menu. This morning...the scales said 142.6. And no one had been on them and they were where I always weigh. So, I guess they were correct!! Menu for yesterday: B~2 eggs(1.2)=1.2 L~Hamburger w/cheese(1), side salad(3) w/ ranch(3), tea w/splenda(1)=8 S~Sugar-free, Nonfat Vanilla Latte-guessing 12 b/c 8 oz. skim milk(12)=12 D~Steak, chicken, Lettuce & cheese(3), ranch(2)=5 Movies~Atkins bar(2)=2 Total: 28.2+whatever I might have missed with the coffee Gotta go right now....will talk to all of you later! Thanks for the kind words...you guys are the best!! |

You can do it macongal, and we will be here along the way too! You will have great scale readings and less than great ones. End the end though you will feel better and look better and that is what counts! Get on that scale and celebrate all your hard work!

The scales went down again this morning...142.4!
I am loving this week! I would love to end tomorrow at 142. That would put me at a 2.2 weight loss for the week and a 4.4 for the month. I am crossing my fingers and being really good today! I am feeling really tired today...kinda dizzy . I took my vitamins and I'm going to try to take it easy. I have been running so hard the last couple of weeks. Tonight I am going to take dinner to a friend who just had surgery. I haven't decided yet what to take, but I want it to be really good. These are our best friends and partners in business. We will likely be eating with them, so it will have to be LC friendly as well.I am excited about Easter coming up. My whole family will be together. My brother and his girlfriend will be coming. I haven't seen him since Christmas, and I know he is going to flip when he sees me! I am also able to get into a nice suit that I bought years ago when I was much thinner. It is cream and so pretty! I am going to go find some new shoes to wear with it for Sunday. On a more important note than what I will be wearing Easter, I am so grateful to my Lord and Savior for what He did for me on the cross. I love Jesus, and He is my intimate and close friend. He has helped me so much in my life and now with my weight loss. I have such a testimony of His love and grace and what He has brought me through. And he has given me such wonderful friends here as well! I am thankful for that! So, here is the menu for yesterday: B~2 eggs(1.2), bacon, sausage=1.2 S~1 cup of Calorie Countdown Milk(3), SF pickle(1)=4 L~Tuna salad(1) & pork rinds=1 S~celery & ranch=4 D~Roast beef=0 D~LC Ice cream=6 Total=16.2 |

Beth, WTG on the 142! The weight is just falling right off of you! I want to see pictures of you in your suit! On another note, I was very touched by your testimony. You are an amazing person, and the Light of Christ definitely shines from you...you are a wonderful example and friend! I can't wait to hear what you end the month on...Next month you will end WELL within the 130's! You're AWESOME! |
