Well, now that I am satisfied that you aren't going to cheat today...those Bugle things sound AWESOME! I love salty/chocolate stuff! YUM! I'm gonna have to try that one of these days...when I am maintaining, of course

Congrats on the inches...I wish I had thought to measure when I first started back in January.

I have to tell you this...as I am sitting here typing this, my cats are freaking out jumping up and down the walls because my ring is reflecting the sunlight and flashing little light spots on the walls and my cats are chasing them! It is SO FUNNY!!

Anyway, I'm hoping you are down a bit tomorrow...keep drinking water...It will help!

I forgot you had your cats to keep you company! How are they liking the new home?

Can someone help me figure out how many carbs there would be for 12 oz. of heavy whipping cream? Thanks.

Thanks...I looked there...don't know why I couldn't figure it out. Reason for asking was I went to Starbucks this afternoon to have some me time. I used to get a SF vanilla latte when I first started LC thinking they were OK. I wanted something similar so I started talking to the girl there. She said that she could make a tall one with heavy cream. They, of course, said there would be no carbs but, I knew better. I let them make it anyway. I know a tall is 12 oz. I don't know how much of that is milk. Probably most all. I thought somewhere I read that a SF Vanilla Latte had 11 carbs . I can't believe now that I substituted heavy cream and it came out to be 9 carbs. Not much difference. That stinks!

Too bad they can't make it with Calorie Countdown! But if it makes you feel any better, think of how many carbs a regular, NON-sugar free one has in it! 9 probably ain't too bad when you compare it to that!

Nope not too bad when you compare...think that is like 26 carbs. It's hard for me NOT to treat myself to something that deals with food or drink. Don't know why that is so hard to break. It has a lot to do with the way I was raised. We always found ways to celebrate with food. Birthdays are very big in my family....in fact any reason to celebrate is our motto. I took some time to myself and went and saw a movie (Becoming Jane) this afternoon. I was good and took a diet green tea and Atkins Endulge bar with me. Then, I went to Starbucks and had the SF Latte. Enough treating myself for today. I just ate tuna salad for dinner to keep my carbs low. Also, came back and got on the treadmill. That should counteract it, huh?

Forgot today's thought so here it is now:

Negative thoughts lead to negative words, which lead to negative attitudes and emotions.

So true!!!

Sounds like my family...in fact, we joke that it's not a birthDAY in my family...it's a birthWEEK!

Krysta~You are the prettier one!!! We're definitely best friends living too far away right now!!

I think I am going to change my weigh in day to Mondays. They certainly treat me a lot better than Sundays do. I was back down to beginning week weight this morning...132.8. A little day of lower carbs and exercise did the trick.

I went to the book store yesterday and bought two new books. One is called "The Hallelujah Diet" by George Malkmus and the other is "What You Don't Know May Be Killing You!" by Don Colbert, M.D.. The Hallelujah Diet talks about the biblical way of eating stressing the healing power of foods etc. The other book talks about toxins in our environment/food and what we can do about it. I thought both would be very interesting reads.

Like always...running late...will have to catch up with everyone after lunch!

Menu from yesterday:

B~Omelet w/ cheese, onion, spinach, mushroom(2.5), coffee w/ HC & CO(.8)=3.3
L~Atkins Vanilla Caramel Shake=2
S~Atkins Endulge Bar (2), SF Vanilla Latte (made w/ HC)(9)=11
D~ Sm. amt. of tuna salad(1)=1

T~17.3

Ketone stick this morning: Large
Water yesterday: 64 oz.
Exercise: 1.5 mile walk/run on treadmill

Good morning Beth.

I like Friday weigh-ins because I've been working hard all week! Although I don't have an official weigh-in day to track things. I have tracked on a monthly basis, but as you can see from my stats, I'm ignoring August, and may have to ignore September.

Your new books sound interesting. Share with us what you learn from them.

I think changing your weigh in day to Monday is a great idea! Even if it's just for psychological reasons

Second...where do you get the caramel Atkins shakes? I have heard of them but NEVER seen them! Maybe I need to head over to Harris Teeter again. They are the only ones I could think would have them.

Make sure you let us know how your books are. I love reading anything on health and nurtition and taking better care of oneself!

Talk to you later, lovely!

I have bought those shakes at Ingles and Walmart. They are a nice change. Of course, chocolate are my favorite. Vanilla isn't bad. I don't really care for the strawberry ones. I had a Slimfast Carb Control (choc.) shake this morning. They are much sweeter and have 5 more grams of protein.

Hey, I bought some Fiber One tonight! Think I will have a bowl in the morning. I can handle 7 carbs.

Welcome back Sue! Good morning everyone!

I don't have anything yet to share from my books. I didn't have any time to read last night. My parents came over and brought dinner for us. They live only 45 minutes away. She brought a roast, green beans, squash, and rolls (kids). I made a salad to go with it. Everything was delicious! We had a nice visit as well.

We have another cross country meet today. It is suppose to rain so we might not get to run. There is a front coming in that is suppose to lower the temperatures to the low 80's and high 70's...can't wait! After the meet today we are going with the group to a Italian place. I went to the website and they have a few choices that would be good. They have wings, salads, and some grilled dishes. One that caught my eye was a pesto chicken...basil, pine nuts, olive oil, light cream. Sounds good, huh? Just have to get it without the angel hair if I chose that one.

I found out yesterday that we won't be having company this weekend. DH got a message on his phone from his friend yesterday saying that he was in the hospital sick. We weren't able to get in touch with him to find out what was wrong. Apparently they didn't know what was wrong..they were doing test. Please pray for him.

Eating was good yesterday. I was writing in my notebook last night and realized I had NO snacks yesterday. I assume it was because of the ketosis but it might have been because I was just really busy running around town and getting ready for last night.

Menu from yesterday:

B~Slim fast Carb Control Shake (not as good as Atkins)=2
L~Skillet pizza (skillet version of Linda Sue's recipe..eggs, cc, parm. cheese, lc pizza sauce, hamburger, cheese, olives), Arizona diet green tea(.5)=5.5
D~Roast beef (1..had seasoning), 1/2 cup squash(1.4), 1/2 cup green beans(2.9), salad(3), ranch(Marie's...only 1 carb!)=10.5
D~SF jello w/ CC & DS=1

T~18.8

Ketone stick this morning: moderate
Water: 52 oz.
Exercise: No treadmill...just running around...lots of steps

Well, off to exercise! Hope you all have a great day!

Krysta~Me too! I want to break into the 120's SO bad!!! I started thinking today that I want to be in size four by Christmas. I was envisioning me in some cute jeans and looking very skinny!!!

Devotion for today:

Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer."

We are the "house" of God! I think we forget that some times. God sent his Holy Spirit for the help in sanctifying our spirits. We can't control what thoughts come into our minds but we can control what we do with them afterwards. Do we harbor them and continue to allow them to grow? We must be pure before our heavenly Father, not letting wrong attitudes develop in our spirits. We should fill our thoughts with the thoughts of God. When we become consumed with His thoughts we don't have problems doing what He has called us to do. Let's clean "house" today. Rid ourselves of all attitudes and thinking that is not pleasing to God. What is my reputation with God? That is what I am asking myself today.

Monet~yes, these shakes are the ones in the cans. They have Carb Control written on them. They have 2 net carbs. Very similar to the Atkins Advantage shakes. The store was out of the Atkins and these were right beside. I would NEVER drink those reg. Slimfast ones...TOO much sugar!

I guess we were posting at the same time....did you read my post before you?

I can tell you that the Slimfast ones are sweeter than the Atkins Advantage and they have more protein. I think I like the Atkins ones better but you may like the Slimfast ones better. Never know until you try them.
