Beth, just wanted to say these ups and downs, although frusterating, are a normal part of the journey. Please don't let it eat you up.
It's all a valuable part of the learning what does/doesn't work process. And sometimes there is no explaination at all. ...And I always take my scales on vacation. Doesn't hurt to keep an eye on things. I will be away for a couple weeks on vacation myself. Leaving Sat. morning. I'll miss you, Beth and friends! |

Sue~I read the thread...very interesting! Thanks for your support and encouragement. I know you are right! I finally showed DH my swimsuit last night. He really liked it. He said, "I don't know if I am going to let you go into public in that! I can't keep my eyes off "the girls!"
![]() TT~You are always so sweet to come and give me your support. It comforts me to hear from someone who has been around the block that it will all be OK! OK, no one else has to eat any pork rinds today....I have eaten enough for the whole board. I just ate half of a med. bag! I don't know what got into me. I haven't eaten any in months! Now I really have a problem with getting the water down. I haven't hardly been thirsty the last 3 days. I haven't had any water today.

Sorry Beth, but the thought of pork rinds recently makes me sick. DH brought some out last night and I refrained.

I have done what I hate to do.....procrastinated! Now I have to spend today scurrying around getting ready for our trip tomorrow(is it tomorrow...oh, no!). I have to run to town to pick up my van this morning, take the boys to get haircuts, etc. and then come home and pack. I am feeling a little better today (did I tell you yesterday I was sick w/ a sore throat and aching?). I started taking my son's antibiotics he didn't end up taking on our trip to Cali. I hoping they will knock out whatever is going on with me. My throat is a little sore this morning but not as bad as yesterday.
I don't know what is going on with my weight. My ketone stick was dark this morning. So I am dumping ketones but not losing fat??? Crazy! I weighed 134 this morning! So, I have still lost nothing since I got back from my trip going on two weeks ago. And I am up 4 pounds from siggy. What to do???? I think I will try the Metamusil again 3 x's a day and see what will happen.I must tell you that my hubby out did himself on my washer/dryer! I LOVE them! They are made by Maytag. I will try to find a picture of them and post it later. They have everything you could possible want on them! I have been mesmerized by watching my clothes wash/dry(clear top/front). I did a huge basket of clothes at one time yesterday! This set is going to save me loads of time! ![]() I will try to check in with everyone later. I am terrible about being disciplined when I keep my computer on this page. I need to set some boundaries for myself. This site is so addictive! Menu from yesterday: B~2 eggs(1.2), 1 strawberry(1), LC strawberry yogurt(3)=5.2 L~grilled chicken(0), Dijon mustard & mayo(.3), pork rinds(0), LC choc. milk(2.5)=2.8 D~Chopped sirloin(0), Salad(4), ranch(3), sauteed mushrooms(2), steak sauce(2)=11 Total: 19 Ketone stick: moderate Water:80 oz. Exercise: none |

Good morning Beth. I am a major procrastinator, so I feel for ya.
![]() Sorry you weren't feeling well yesterday, but hope today is better as you have so much to do. How nice about the washer/dryer. Giving you a lighter load is always a good thing. ![]() |

Well, I guess I have to wait a week to talk to you now. I hope you have fun at the beach. Sorry about your car and the weight frustrations you have been dealing with. I agree with Jaimie, maybe you don't need to focus on a certain #. Good news on the school situation and congrats on the washer/dryer. I hope you have a great trip and I look forward to catching up when you return.

Sorry I missed you before you left, Beth. Hope that you are having a great vacation.
I wanted to let you know that I made that teriyaki recipe from the recipe thread (tweaked it a little) and DH grilled them. Oh my, they were wonderful. Actually I marinated the chicken for my birthday and DH grilled them. We loved them so much that we made them again on Sunday when company was here. They were a big hit with them also. |

Hey Beth!
Just stopping by to see if you posted that swim suit pic yet. ![]() Actually, I'm stopping by to say hi and see how you were doing and read about the swimsuit. Hope you had fun on vacation. I was wrapped up in an event all week long last week at work. The food was AWESOME and free. So now I am recovering form eating high carb all last week. It seems like I do really good for a couple weeks and then I throw it all away. But hey, free is good! Right? As far as our event went, I'm going to be a busy boy for awhile, which is good. A good challenge is what makes me want to go to work.Anyway, hope all is well with you! ![]()

Good morning my LCF!
It is good to be back with all of you! It has been just over a week but has felt like a month! We had a fabulous vacation! I think the only complaint I have is that it was too stinkin hot! The temperatures stayed between 95-100! We only had a short shower of rain (besides the day we left it rained almost the whole drive). Thank the Lord for air conditioning and the pool!As far as eating goes, I did very well. My only "cheats" were just a few tastes of things(bites of bread, sushi, some non lc appetizer, dessert) and that was all! And it was just enough to satisfy my curiosity, but not cause me to want more. I did take my scales and ketone sticks with me so I think that really helped me keep on track. I also kept a rough draft of what I ate (without counted the carbs) in my notebook up until the last couple of days. I think the main thing that helped me this week was that I was so active. Every day I was either doing a lot of walking or swimming. Plus the sleeping in was awesome so I got some much needed rest! I did have a few days of major water retention. You will see when I post my weights for the different days. I know it was the sun and more salty foods than normal. Luckily my mom gave me one of her fluid pills and that helped. I was feeling miserable and my clothes were tight. It really weighed on my emotions. I knew I wasn't cheating but the scales were going up. Having that fluid weight on you can really mess with you head. So, this weeks totals (since I count Sun. to Sun.) were last Sun. I weighed 133.2 and this past Sun. I weighed 132.4. I actually lost weight on vacation!!! I can't believe it! I am utterly amazed. My will power paid off this week. I am very proud of myself! This morning I weighed a little up....133.4. I am not surprised though. My weekend was about as crazy as it could have been. We decided to come back late Friday night. Actually we ended up driving all night long and arriving home at 4:30 am. I was having a reunion on Sat. and decided I wanted to get back to go to it. This reunion was my church youth group. There were people there I hadn't seen in years. Back when I was growing up, our church had a very active youth program. We even had our own choir and competed nationally with other churches. Part of this reunion was getting back together to sing again. We met on Sat. and practiced and spent time together all day. Then, yesterday we sang in the morning service. It was truly awesome....like going back in time! I am so thankful that I didn't miss it! I can tell you though that I was beyond tired yesterday afternoon. I just came home and collapsed! My voice this morning is hoarse and my muscles ache. I am going to have to do some more resting today! I can't tell you how wonderful it was to go back to the beach and feel so good about how I looked! I know I still have some work to do to look the way I want but compared to last summer there is a world of difference in how I felt and looked. I don't know if I can find any comparison pictures or not (because I didn't like taking pictures last year of myself and I think the ones I did take I cropped so that you couldn't see all of me). I was having flash backs all week. Flash backs of how out of breath I was walking to the pool and beach...how embarrassed I was putting on a bathing suit.....how I really didn't feel like doing anything...no energy. How I satisfied my emotions with loads of foods and looked forward every night to going out to eat...that was my highlight! Boy, have I changed and I am SO THANKFUL!!! I can't believe it has almost been a year since I started this journey. It has been a journey but a well worth one!! Well, I better finish posting...this is getting long.....here is the run down of the week: Friday(last post)-134 & moderate ketones Sat.-133.5 & small Sun.-133.2 & moderate Mon.-134.4 & small-mod. Tues.-135.2 & trace (WATER GAIN!!) Wed.-131.6 & large (after taking fluid pill) Thurs.-132 & trace (tried to up water intake) Fri.-134.4 & small Sat.-135.2 & ran out of sticks! Sun.-132.4 Mon.-133.4 OK, it may take me a few minutes but I am going to be brave and post some pictures in my bathing suit! Remember that I am normally a very reserve person when it comes to modesty but I went wild this summer! Thank God I didn't run into anyone I knew. I think I looked pretty good in it. Of course, because of the way I am I do see things that I want to work on and also need to lose more weight. If only I were taller, I would be there already! |

Beth~it's so good to have you back.
I think you did great on vacation and having a loss is awesome! You ought to be very proud of yourself. Your youth group reunion sounds like so much fun. The one year I was in the states in high school I was involved in a great youth group. Those are memories that will always be cherished. I can't wait to see the pics you post. |
