OK...I exercised! I did my Fat Blasting tape by Denise Austin. I did the Fat blasting interval walk and the power and tone walk (see link below). I have to say it was a little more difficult today but I pressed through and did it. I feel really proud of myself. That makes 2 days I exercised this week. One more chance tomorrow to make 3 times this week.

Beth~great job on the exercise. I'm behind this week. Hate to admit it, but I haven't walked or exercised once.

I don't see anything in your menu that looks bad or would cause you to gain. Maybe the pizza last night had a lot of sodium? Other than that, your menu always looks good and on track.

Your body may be fighting you on these last few pounds, and it will probably take some perseverance to get through this. But I know you will.

You know Sue, my mindset has been that 125 is my first final goal. I really want to get lower than that. I guess I just haven't looked at it as my last few pounds like everyone else has. Maybe that will help everyone understand that I'm not just freaking out over the last few pounds. To me I have about 15 pounds to go. I know even still that Dr. A says the last pounds can come off slowly. I really wouldn't mind if they stay still ( I say that now). I just don't like the gaining!

I don't like gaining either.

Well, it could be that after your many months of losing, this will get a little harder. It may be that the exercise is just what you need. I think your DH is right. But, don't expect miracles right away. You may hang onto more water as your body gets used to the exercise.

We both need patience. I want things NOW, as we all do. But, I know that if I didn't have these boards, and you dear friends, I would have given up long ago. See, no patience.

You've been such a big help to me, and I hope I can be the same for you, Beth.

Me too! I found these boards just in the nick of time. I was frustrated because the friend that introduced me to eating low carb wasn't on a specific plan and got tired of me asking so many questions (Not that she said so much but I got that impression). Thank the Lord he led me to all of my friends here!!!!

I will remember that as I go down my journey of exercise.

It depends on the particular lemon pepper seasoning you have. I have one that lists no carbs but I have also seen an organic one which lists 1 carb per 1/4 tsp for a total of 4 carbs per tsp. Just check for no added sugars and you should be ok.

Thanks Lisa. Unfortunately, I had this fish at a local restaurant. But I will look at my seasoning I have and know for the future.

Had a great Sunday! The service was really good at church and the pastor's message was just what I needed to hear. It is so good when the message seems to speak directly to you! Then, yesterday afternoon our friends (ones in the pictures) came over and spent the rest of the day with us. We ended up going to Outback to eat (yummy).

Unfortunately though, this morning was more of the same on the scales! I was even more up from yesterday...134.4. I can't seem to stay away from that number! I thought for sure by now I would start to see a drop. Maybe I am dealing with more than water. Time will only tell I guess.

To tell you the truth I didn't even want to keep up with my food journal yesterday. I had to make myself write everything down and tally the carbs up late last night. We snacked on fruit and nuts yesterday while friends were over. I had to figure out how much of each fruit I ate. I can't wait until that isn't a issue and I can eat lc foods freely without fretting! Do you really ever get to that point?

I wanted to exercise yesterday. I was planning to do it right before our friends called. I should have gotten my friend to go walking with me, but it was so hot! I will get back on track today.

Menu from yesterday:

B~Strawberry Atkins shake=2
L~2 hamburger patties(0), cheese(1), mayo(1), salad(4), ranch(2)=8
S~nuts(1), fresh cherries(1.5), strawberry(1), white grapes(3), coffee w/ HC(2)=8.5
D~Salad(4), ranch(3), 2 wings(2), steak(0), lobster tail(0), broccoli(2.5)=11.5
Extra~4 splendas=4

Total: 34

Ketone stick from this morning: trace
Water from yesterday: maybe a glass....awful I know...too much tea/coffee
Exercise: none

Beth, after looking at your menu, I don't think you're off track. You are supposed to add carbs.

I was reading in the ML in a thread that you had posted in. I have the same questions about adding in carbs when not losing. Dr. Atkins made it sound so easy in his book, but in reality, it has never worked that way for me. I have never lost easy on LC except the first month. After that it's like pulling teeth to get the weight off. I know that this is the only plan that I can stick with though, because of the lack of hunger and the great food.

I do think, though, that with all we're learning from this process, we'll be able to keep the weight off once we get to goal.

Glad your Sunday was good.

Sue~I am all for keeping the weight off when I am done losing! I hear everyone say that slower is better. Then, we must be best! Oh, by the way, I sent you something in the mail today.

Krysta~I will miss you too!! Thanks for the PM!

It was good for me to get out today. I had to go get the car serviced. Then, me, two little ones, DH, and my dad (who was in town) went to Red Lobster for lunch. (Boy, am I getting to eat good lately. You would think I was already on vacation!)

Afterwards, I went to the mall to see if they still had that "sexy" bathing suit I wanted to buy before my California trip. I talked it over with DH and he told me to buy it if I really liked it that much. We will only be with my parents and brother on vacation. The rest of the world there won't know me so, who cares right? If I get a good picture of me in it I might share it with all of you! There was only one on the rack and it was my size. Also, it was 60% off!!! I got a $75 bathing suit for 30! I love a sale! I still can't believe I was brave enough to buy it!! I am usually a very modest person.

The kids had been really good so, I took them to get a cookie/cupcake at the food court and ride the merry-go-round. I have to tell you I really struggled with tasting the cookie and cupcake! I instead got a diet coke (which is out of the ordinary for me since I don't drink sodas anymore....felt like I was cheating!). I still had that sweet tooth calling me long after. When we got back in the car, I found an Atkins bar all melted! In my pre LC days I loved melted Snickers bars. I would even melt them on purpose. That Atkins bar (choc. peanut butter crisp) was divine!! And it was so good to know that I could eat it without the least bit of guilt!

Now off to do some aerobics and then get dinner started. Just felt like typing. Have a good night!

Can't wait to see what you sent me.

Great sale on the swim suit!

I just made choc PB bars, not LC for DS, who has been asking for me to make them. They taste like Reeces PB Cups. Oh my, I didn't taste, but sure wanted to.

Way to go on not giving into the PB cups! That sort of thing is such a weakness for me. Thank the Lord that I have a LC substitute!

Beth,
You are doing great. I wonder if with your 4 gorgeous kiddos, maybe 125 isn't a realistic goal? Please don't be upset with me for saying that...I just think that you SHOULD be able to enjoy LC fruit and enjoy your life...YOU LOOK AMAZING. Maybe reset-ting goals is a thought?? Hope you aren't mad that I said this...

Jaime, you are so silly!! I couldn't and wouldn't be mad at you for saying that! I am glad you feel free to tell me what you think. I am coming to the realism that the numbers won't matter to me as long as I look like I want to look. I guess we all judge ourselves on what we look like without our clothes or what the scales say. I think exercise is going to allow me to feel better about what I look like without clothes or in a bathing suit by getting things toned. I have decided that that is what is going to be my focus instead of the numbers. Hold me accountable to that OK? Most important thing for me to remember is the reason why I started this journey in the first place....and that was to be healthy.

Ohhh, Beth, I am thankful you are such a open minded woman!!! You are sooo right. The focus should be on health, and how we feel and look...period. The scale number is an obession of sorts...and I am the worst offender. Wow, interesting food for thought...PUN intended...

Hugs pretty lady!

Numbers on the scale are meaningless if we're fat underneath the covering of clothes. Health and fitness should be our goal.

How are ya today Beth?

TT! Been missin you around here! We will see about the swimsuit...may have to PM everyone!

Well, my body FINALLY let go! I weighed 132.8this morning! SO HAPPY! I could feel it too when I got up!

I did my exercise yesterday again! So proud of myself. I think the key is not trying to take on too much to start. I don't feel as overwhelmed when I think about doing what I am doing for exercise right now. I can always increase it later. It is just important for me to be doing something regarding exercise every day.

Menu from yesterday:

B~Atkins shake=1
L~Red Lobster: salad(5), ranch(2), 2 shrimp scampie(2.4), baked fish(0), broccoli(1)=10.4
S~Atkins bar=2
D~3 eggs(1.8), mushroom(1.2), bacon(0), cheese(1)=4
L~LC yogurt(3) w/ flaxseed=3

Total: 20.4

Ketone stick this morning: trace
Water yesterday: 88 oz.
Exercise yesterday: Denise Austin DVD (20 min) + walking at the mall
!
