Beth~I hope you are feeling better today.

You might have a let down from a great trip. I go through this when we come back from a great vacation. It's hard to get back into the grind.

If you're dealing with hormones on top of that, then it is to be expected. Take care of yourself, relax a little about this whole weight loss thing, and rejoice that you are so much thinner than you were last year at this time.

Aw Beth,
Sorry to read you aren't feeling good. I think Sue is right...the combo of jetlag and hormones...YIKES!!
I think getting your life back on an even keel will help lots.
Hope you have a successful day.

Beth, how are you today ? I am sorry you are feeling so down/out. Look, I think you just need a few days to chill and get things out of your system. I agree with Sue, look how much thinner you are than what you were last year.

You guys are so sweet! Thanks for your encouragement. I was feeling so miserable last night. I think you are right, Sue. Some of my emotions are a let down from my trip. I had built that trip up so much. It had been my focus for 10 months. Now it is over. I was thinking through it last night...wondering what it will be like when I reach goal....wondering if you have the same reaction with that and what do you do when you feel that way? I know there are hormones into play as well (at least I think that is what the chocolate cravings are but maybe it is just feeling down). We will see in the next few days if things mellow out or not.

I do feel a little bit better today. I was down .4 with a weight of 134. I thought for sure I might go up even more with all the eating I did yesterday. I am going to try to focus on eating clean induction type food today, so I can get back into Ketosis. That is my plan to start. Then, I really want to start working on exercise. I know that exercise is going to be the key to me being able to eat more. I plan on testing this theory out. I don't like the way my body looks at this point. I need a lot of toning. I may be thinner but EVERYTHING jiggles and is flabby. My bathing suit tells the story.

My MIL was so sweet to me. Because my washing machine broke before my trip, she took all my dirty clothes from my trip and washed them. It was 4 trash bags worth of clothes! She will probably bring them back today. She is an awesome woman.

I hope to get some picture on here soon. My friend is suppose to get me her digital card some time soon so I will have all of them. I may go ahead and post a few today.....

Menu from yesterday:

B~3 eggs(1.8) w/ cheese(1) & cream cheese(.5), hot tea w/ DS & 1/2&1/2 (.5)=3.8
L~Hamburger Pattie w/ cheese(1), salad(3), ranch(2), LC yogurt(3) w/ 1/4 cup blackberries(2.7/4.6) & flax=11.7/13.6
S~22 almonds(2/6)=2/6
D~Taco salad made w/ turkey & seasoning/salsa/sc/cheese(5/6), homemade LC choc. treat(2.2), coffee w/ 1 pk. diet cocoa mix(2/5)=9.2/13.2

Total=26.7N/36.6F

Ketone stick this morning: Negative
Water yesterday: 36 oz.
Exercise: none

I'm sorry Beth, but I just had to laugh at you next to your DH. You're so tiny compared to him.

The pics of you are beautiful. You look like you are at goal weight now, Beth! The numbers on the scale are so meaningless at times. Do you know your waist measurement when you first started? If so, take a string, cut it to that size and then compare it now. I think you'll be amazed.

At this point I am concentrating on getting the weight off, and don't think much about what it will be like when I get to goal. It seems to far away right now, and sometimes it seems unreachable. I haven't been 140 since 1986, the year I got married. I hardly remember what it was like and I still felt fat at that weight sometimes. So, I'm concentrating on not being a chub-a-lub right now.

Are you serious about the berries? We have about 8 bushes, and that supplies us for a year. I still have about 3 bags in the big freezer that I haven't even used from last year. Blueberries are very easy to grow. We've planted them at both the homes we've owned. Some years are good, some years, like last, are bountiful. This is a good, not bountiful year, but we are already starting to snack on the ripe ones when we go outside.

I don't know how they would hold up to shipping?

Monet~I loved that you came to visit my journal! Thanks for the compliment...made me smile! Please come join us anytime you want to!

Sue~Yes, I was serious! I don't know how you could ship them either! Dry ice??? Who knows? That would be so cool to have some blueberries from your garden! Search around and ask and let me know what it would cost. Maybe we can find a way.

Let me do a little research about shipping berries. I would have to wait until the big ones get ripe. If I sent you the frozen ones, I think you'd end up with blueberry soup.

I put up some slide shows on my myspace page from our trip. They are the two on the top left side. Here is the link.... http://www.myspace.com/diamondring

I have to get the house cleaned up for company to celebrate the 4th. I will check in later and type out details. I weighed 133.2 this morning. It is slowly coming back down!

We are having all the grandparents over for the 4th today. Planning to grill steaks and shrimp! I just had a minute to get caught up on my journal.

I was talking with DH this morning and he finally told me that he was messing with me about the 9 pounds he gained. He didn't gain 9, he gained 5! Now this morning he was the lowest he has been! So, he lost what he gained and more since our trip! That makes 42 pounds lost for him! It makes me sick!!!! I still haven't lost back down to my lowest! It just goes to show you how men can get away with sooo much more!

I ate fairly good yesterday. I was still craving chocolate. Also, I noticed my stomach was cramping a little yesterday. So, I believe I am dealing with TOM symptoms. Then, I recalled what a temper I had on vacation. Everything was getting on my nerves! I hope it will be gone soon.

Menu from yesterday:

B~Flax seed muffin(2.6) w/ cream cheese(1)=3.6
L~Hamburger Steak(0) w/ 1/4 cup grilled onions(2.5/3), salad(3), ranch(2)=7.5/8
S~LC chocolate treat(2.2)=2.2
D~Taco salad again(5/6), 1 cup of choc. CCD milk(5/4)=10/10

Total: 23.3/23.8

Ketone stick this morning: trace
Water yesterday: 64 oz
Exercise: none

I bought some of that CLA supplement. It is suppose to reduce body fat. We will see. I started taking it today.

Girl, if we could all see ourselves as others .... we would be doing ourselves a favor in most cases. You are skinny and very beautiful.

Now, if you get a moment and know ANYTHING about bladder/kidney infections ... please pop over to my journal and help me.

Glad you are having a good day !!

Hi Beth! Sorry I have been MIA but Mr. TT has been keeping me pretty busy lately. We are doing an apt cleanout/remodel. Just wanted to say to you that you should not be frusterated with being jiggly in a swimsuit. I have jiggly areas too. Thinking back, when didn't I? And I think I prefer a few jiggle areas to loads of fat with it--don't you? Exercise (like weight training) I think will help us both. I need to find a gym and try it. So anyways, be proud of what you have done and don't worry. Anything can be fixed. Also, I am a bit older than you at age 46 so I don't really expect to have the body of a 20 year old... Lol, when I was 20 I didn't have the body of a 20 year old either. But still, things are much improved and for you as well. KUTGW and don't worry...

Hey everyone! Glad to see that we all had a nice break yesterday!

Krysta~It will be next June. I don't have the specific dates yet but it is always around the same time toward the end of June. I hope to be able to see you before next year. When will you be in Augusta?

TT~yes, I know that I will never have that 20 yr. old body again. I just want my cottage cheese to look a little better. I definitely would rather have jiggle too than fat!

Well, the scales were a little up this morning. When I first woke up I weighed 134.2...grrr! Then, I waited a little while...my stomach was upset all morning (sorry TMI but very happy about itThat flax seed is the bomb!)....got back on the scales with all my clothes on after eating breakfast and getting ready and still weighed the same thing. So, maybe tomorrow will be a better weighing day. I feel better anyway. I felt like my belly was HUGE last night!!!

I've got to run out the door to go buy a friend a wedding present today. Maybe I will get some much needed walking in around the stores. I did get some exercise in after dinner last night. My dad and I went for a walk around my neighborhood. It was very close to a mile walk and I wasn't tired. I felt so good afterwards.

Menu from yesterday:

B~3 eggs scrambled w/ cheese(2.8) & ground turkey(0), coffee w/ HC(1)=3.8
L~LC yogurt (3) w/ flax seed, coffee w/ HC(1)=4
D~Salad(4), ranch(2), steak(1), shrimp(0), SB steak sauce(1), 1/2 cup fresh green beans(2.9/4.9), dessert-few bites of SF choc. pie(2), 3 strawberries(3) w/ SF whipped cream(2)=17.9/19.9
Late~flax seed muffin(2.6) w/ cream cheese(1)=3.6

Total: 29.3N/31.3F

Ketone stick this morning: trace
Water yesterday: 42 oz.
Exercise: mile walk!

A walk around the neighborhood with your dad ... that sounds nice. And if you weighed the same later with clothes, etc. then I bet you were a bit lower. Hope you have a great day !!

I am beginning to wonder if I will ever see 130 again. I know that sounds so melodramatic this morning, but I am frustrated. You know if I had just totally blown it on vacation and really had some good cheats I think I would give myself a break because hey, I cheated. But this stinks! It is not fair! Do I sound childish enough for you??? I weighed 133.8 this morning. It is down from yesterday....so what do I have to complain about huh?

I had forgotten to write down my weekly and monthly totals until this morning. For last week I gained 2.2 pounds (132.2 to 134.4). And for my monthly totals June 1 to July 1 I gained .4 pounds (134 to 134.4). I guess these totals are what have got me down this morning. There was just no wiggle room for gains in there apparently.

I am tempted to just erase all that I have written up to this point for sounding so whinny. But maybe someone reading this can see that real life sometimes can really effect your emotions especially when it comes to weight loss. I guess if you read my whole journal you would see that my mood tends to go up and down. And you would probably see that it correlates to what time of the month it is. Nevertheless, it doesn't help knowing all that when you are in this mood. Does it???

On a brighter side, yesterday we did get some wonderful news! See, I should have just started with this statement and not even shared the real mood I was in. Sorry.....OK, back to my wonderful news! A few months ago I talked about my children's school having problems and how we wondered if they were going to stay open. We had to finally make some difficult decisions and not wait on them to drag us out and put us in a bind regarding our children's education. We decided to move them to a school closer to our business (but 25 min. from home). It was about double what we were paying, but it was where we were feeling led to go.
