Beth, try it with no snacks besides jello. But if you must I have the chocolate cake modiefied to fit in. Keep in mind you will only do this for no more than a week. Then it is back to Atkins, which I think is very important. The results will knock your socks off (and your pants will fall off too (I said that in front of Phil??? )! Looks like Phil will be a good cheerleader...

Beth, one word of caution: Kimkins seems to stir up a lot of contraversy here. I wouldn't mention it outside your journal. I constantly get heat over it. Some say you can't maintain it, ect. All untrue. In fact, I am giving Kimkins another shot myself starting Monday. I am going for 6 days.

I looked a little bit on their thread last night. I would think it would be OK in a short period. I don't personally think I could make it my main diet. The only thing that I worry about is will the weight loss stick or will I start gaining back once I eat fat again? I do think at the least I will try cutting back on the fat and see what happens. I appreciate you sharing this with me and I am always open to new ideas.

Good morning everyone! I am holding strong this morning with 133! Yesterday was crazy with all the running around I had to do. I had the doctor's appointment. Afterwards, we went to lunch with DH to Chili's. Then, took the boys to a gaming store to trade in some games. We did more shopping after that. I was tired and had a major headache when I got home. I was going to fix salmon for dinner, but decided just to get out frozen LC pizza and eat that with a salad.

Not much going on today other than the same old same old.....kids, laundry, errands.

Menu from yesterday:

B~Atkins shake(1/5)=1/5
L~Chili's: Salad(4), ranch(1), steak(1), 1/4 cup broccoli(.9/2)=3.9/9
S~LC blueberry yogurt(3), few sips of a cold coffee I didn't like(.5)=3.5
D~3 squares LC pizza(6), 1 cup salad(.7/1.3)=6.7/7.3
Late~1/2 cup CC milk=1.5

Total~16.6/26.3

Ketone stick this morning: trace
Water yesterday: 96 oz.
Exercise: lots of walking

I don't know what has been going on....had them every day....trying to just get through them...hoping they are just still hormonal. Still feeling hot at times as well. My doctor said that he could check my levels anytime I wanted, but I think it might just be from the diet. I told him if they didn't stop or got worse that I would get it checked out.

Sounds hormonal to me, Beth, although I'm no expert. Not sure how those things work for someone who has had a hysterectomy. Headaches are miserable though, as I can attest to, and I hope that you get this figured out.

Beth, don't worry. The weight will stay off just fine. And I am with you. I would never make Kimkins a permanate WOE but it makes a great jump start now and then. You'll see. And yes, you can go right back to fats when you switch back to Atkins. You just have to add carbs back in Atkins order, starting with induction.

Sorry you aren't feeling good though. I wouldn't think the diet would cause it. I too suffer with hot flashes. So does my SIL and she had a hysterectomy! Hormones I think are the devil.

Morning Beth! Glad you are holding your weight. Makes it more permanent! I have also been having headaches the past few days. I'm SURE mine are hormonal! Grrrrrr.... You know, mentioning LC pizza, I may have to make one soon. I haven't made one since we started the diet. I don't know why...maybe because we rarely have pizza toppings in the house. I think freezing it is a great idea, especially once I get back to NC and I'm the only one I will be cooking for! Problem is, I always forget when I have stuff frozen to take it out and eat it!

I am the same way with most foods except the pizza! Linda's pizza is sooo good. You will wonder why you never fixed it before. I make two when I fix it...just double the recipe. Then, I separate it with wax paper and put it in a Tupperware container. I just pop it out and put it in the microwave. Yummy!

I also freeze the cabbage and hamburger. It does well too!

TT & P~Y'all (as we say here in the South) crack me up!!

Good morning Sue! I am posting a little late this morning huh? Kids were up early this morning, so I didn't have my quiet time on the computer like I normally do. I am finally here!

I tried yesterday to follow TT's plan (even though I lacked a few things...meat for the morning & scales). It was harder than I thought. Looking at my menu, it wasn't too far off plan, but it wasn't Kimkims. I got sooo hungry later in the day. I don't know if I am going to be able to follow it, but I am going to try to stay as close to it as possible and see what happens. Nevertheless my scales were up a little this morning. I weighed 133.4. But that could be a number of things. I am not going to get down about it.

I got some things done around the house yesterday. My MIL is staying here with the kids so I am having to get everything clean. We will be busy this weekend with our close friend's daughter's 2nd birthday party (what a mouthful!). I need to go today and find her a birthday present. I am also fixing a veggie platter for the party. So, I know that I need to plan ahead to get everything else done before Tues. for the trip.

Sue, I got some of that Loreal tanning lotion. It is starting to look pretty good. The first application there were a few streaks, but the second evened it out. I think exfoliating really helps with those lotions. The only thing is that I can't get my back, so I look really funny right now. I need to get DH to put some on it so I won't look weird in my bathing suit!

Lots to do today....sound like a broken record I know. So here's the menu from yesterday:

B~3 eggs(1.8)..didn't have the 4 oz. of meat=1.8
L~2/3 of Zaxby's grilled chicken salad(4.6) w/ ranch(2)...not low fat=6.6
S~Watermelon jello-yum=0
D~Crusted Salmon(1), 1/2 cup Loaded broccoli(1.5/3)=2.5/4
Dessert~still hungry later-1 minute flax seed muffin(2.6) w/ cream cheese & DS(1)=3.6

Total: 14.5N/16

Ketone stick this morning: small (got a little darker from yesterday!)
Water yesterday: 80 oz.
Exercise: nada

Good luck with all your errands today. How long are you going to be gone to California?

133 is great...even if it is .4 You still have like 5 days before your trip, also, to lose a little more. Keep it up! (I already know you will )

Jaime~this stuff works right away. I bought it at Walmart. There was a pack that had the lotion and some for the face. I have just put three (that includes today) applications on and I already look tan. Usually I turn orange but not with this stuff.

Krysta~something happened in me yesterday and it was suddenly OK for me to be the weight I am at convention. I don't know...but I am OK with it all. I think my hormones are finally evening out. Don't get me wrong...I want to lose some more before I leave. I need a little wiggle room for my trip. But for now I am not upset about the way I look. I have some cute clothes to strut my stuff in and I am feeling good!

Thanks for the cheers you guys!

Yay, Beth! You are right to be proud of yourself and happy with your weight! You have worked hard for it! I'm glad that you have let that goal number go. Eventually you will make your goal, and that is the important part. The other important part is not letting a number decide whether you will have a good time, or be happy or not. I'm glad you had your epiphany and I can't wait to see pictures of you in all your new clothes! (Yes, I am such a clothes fiend!! )

I'm glad you have some cute clothes to "strut your stuff!" It is a good thing to feel good with where you are right now. Don't stress the small stuff.

I don't want to offend anyone here, but eating a low-fat plan is a sure-fire way for me to go off plan because of the hunger. I would rather lose slow, like I am doing now, than to be hungry all the time. I've done that before and never want to go back. Just my 2 cents.

No, Sue, its true. Kimkins is hard. I can't stay on it very long myself.

Beth, Kimmer says to eat hard boiled eggs if you get hungry. My weight is also up today too but I had bacon yesterday and it always does me right in. I am hoping my weight is back to the low side by Monday because no way will I spend days doing Kimkins for water weight. Not worth the suffering, lol. But, it should be back down and then I am off and running on Kimkins. I am going to try to last for 6 days.

Glad you have cutie pie clothes to wear! KUTGW

I am glad you got to go shopping the other day. I don't think you could EVER look like a slob. But, I am glad you got some new stuff. I too am a VERY frugal shopper. I prefer eBay or the thrift stores. However, you can't beat a good deal at Belk - I do lots of Christmas shopping there.

I wish I could help you with the food/airline questions ... but I don't have a clue.

I read that you are struggling with the emotions of not losing "enough" by the convention. Beth, I think you are doing wonderful. I agree with everything said by your fans. You are awesome. I think sometimes we put God in a box ... maybe our time and His are not always the same. The important thing, as much as it drives me crazy, is that we lose it and keep it off.

I understand your emotions about DH and wanting to Mommy him. I have decided Randy is a grown man and that the only reason I wanted to Mommy him was that I didn't WANT him to eat something I could NOT have. He is essentially at goal, and fluctuates 5lbs +/- ..... I cannot eat the same things he does.

So, you had a mammogram ? Is this a routine thing ? Or are they checking for something ?

(Threadjack to Phil -- glad you refrained with your comments on the squishing But, ya just couldn't resist on the britches, huh ? Those cheerleaders cracked me up (yes Beth is right, we say that a good bit here in the south). Awesome testimony there that you shared. I had cold chills reading it.)

Beth, I see you have been using the L'Oreal stuff. And then you exfoliate when ?? I agree about the orange stuff, so I might get this for my legs at least.

Thank so much for checking in on us and for the prayers. I have posted an update in my journal, which you might have already read. You are a wonderful friend to me.

Krysta~I went today to the mall to look for a bathing suit. I went in Macy's, but their bathing suits were outrageous (125 and up)! So, I went to JCPenny's and found one that was very similar to the one you posted. I just LOVED it! The only thing was that I talked myself out of it! The "girls" looked fabulous in it! I just couldn't show the "girls" to everyone at convention. It showed the WHOLE cleavage! My teenagers were even embarrassed! They said, "Mom, you're just too hot in that bathing suit." I told DH if we were going somewhere by ourselves I would have definitely bought it. Who knows, I might go back and get it later. But it was not for this trip. I didn't end up getting anything because after that one no other one looked as good. I did buy one more outfit. And yes, I will take pictures.

Jaime~Hope your errands went OK and you are still alive!

Sue~You are right about eating low fat. It has made me hungry. I totally screwed up today. After lunch I said just forget it and went back to eating close to induction instead. Gives me a little bit more compassion for those starting Atkins. You can forget how hard it is to make that first step after you have been doing it awhile.

TT~I am sorry to disappoint you with the diet. I am just going to many places to get the hang of it. I think it would be easier if I was at home with no events coming up. Maybe when I get back from my trip and have everything together I might give it a try again. More power to you gal. Kimkims is no joke. I'm sure it will work well for you. Maybe you can give me a few pointers.

Candy~thanks for your sweet message. The mammogram was just a baseline one. He didn't find anything to cause alarm. It was just time. On the Loreal....what I have been doing is exfoliating in the morning during my shower. Then, after I dry off, I apply the lotion. I think it would work really well on your legs. I try to stay away from my knees and ankles. Then, when I am all done I smooth what is already on there over those areas so they get very little cream. Those areas can always turn darker.

Phil~Missed my laugh today!
