Your post in my journal about brought a tear to my eye. Weight loss is such an emotional roller coster. It sucks, but being where I am right now sucks even more.
As far as exercise, your muscles are going to hold onto as much water as they can after workingout so I wouldn't worry about the 2 pounds. Worring leads to depression and depression leads to over eating of the wrong things. I know. Not only am I guitly of it, I belive I am the founder! ![]() Be strong. Your worth it! ![]() ![]() Phil |

Good morning Jaime & Phil!
I wrote both of you on your journals.Well, I am irrtated this morning. The scales went up again. I weighed 134.4. I know that is just a .2 gain on the scales but it is a GAIN nevertheless. And then to make things worse, we are out of ketone sticks! I am also irritated at what I ate for dinner last night. I got my first shipment in from Netrition yesterday. I had ordered some of those black soy beans(along with davinci's syrup (in banana, chocolate, and peanut butter), xanthum gum, 1 can of that pudding) and wanted to fix some chilli. It was late when I got around to fixing it, so I was in one of my "don't care" moods. Here was my chilli: Ground beef,1/2 onion, 1 can stewed tomatoes, 1 can of black soy beans, cup? of tomato mystery,?chilli powder, ?cumin, ?garlic powder. I think that is it. So, I was thinking that today was going to be Induction type foods and lots of fiber. Now, I just got a call from my parents and they are coming up for all of us to go out for dinner. We are going to a place with all you can eat crab legs. I am going to have to have a lot of will power tonight because this place is a very large buffet with EVERYTHING you can think of on it. The asian dishes are where my temptations come in. In the past, I have snuck a little taste here and there. If I do that tonight, along with eating crab legs, I will be up again tomorrow for the weigh in. Do you want to know how I really feel about it right now???? I feel like I just want to puke! There it is the raw facts!!!! All I can think right now is how can I go from being on top of the world on Wed. to in the bottom of the garbage dumpster this morning. Can I blame it on HORMONES???? Tell me it will all go away soon! I am getting SO tired of losing and then gaining back!!! Enough ranting..... Menu from yesterday: B~EAS shake=2/4 S~? mac. nuts=2/4 L~Golden Corral: Baked chicken leg, baked fish, 3 brussel sprouts(3.9/5.4-won't do that again!), tartar sauce(.5), salad (mostly spinach)(3), ranch(2)=9.4/10.9 S~1 pb treat(2), cream cheese(1) & PB DS(0)=3 D~HM Chilli=10 or more Total: 26.4N/31.9F (counting the chilli as 10 carbs) Ketone stick this morning-OUT Water yesterday-64 oz.? Exercise: Lots of walking while shopping

Hang in there-hormones suck! It's TOM for me and I had the sweet & salty cravings last night. I ended up having a boiled egg & bacon followed by 7 strawberries dipped in WF SF Chocolate Dip. It sounds like a strange combo but it did the trick and it's better than falling nose first into a bag of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups like I used to! And I looked up the Manwich sauce-not too bad only 20 net carbs a cup. So don't despair you are doing so great w/your weight loss and I hope to get there too.

Morning my dear friend.
I totally feel for you with the roller coaster. It's very emotional and personal and hurts like HELL. Vent away, that's what we are to do with one another in my opinion. Celebrate the joys and hurt when we all hurt. It's frustrating to think ONE thing can shake up my weight sooo bad ... and take so much work to get back on track.Sorry about the Manwich sauce, but glad it was good. ![]() Ok, so let me ask you something ... this crab/lobster dip from Outback. Do you think it contains artificial crab or real crab ? I know artificial is loaded. Just a thought. I hope your day gets better today. |

Candy~Thanks for understanding about the outburst.
I think on that crab dip that it was real crab. There wasn't a whole lot in there but it didn't taste fake. I can't wait until all those restaurants have up their nutritional info. I am trying to email the ones that don't have it.Jaime~Hope you are having a wonderful day too! ![]() Last night went OK at the buffet. We had a great time with my dad and mom. The only thing I did more than usual was eat several different kinds of fruit. I thought that was much better than the Asian dishes that were calling me. I also tried to eat smaller portions. I have a long list of things I ate but they were mostly just bites. What can I say...I like variety. My weight this week was a disgrace. I gained almost a half of a pound this week. I weighed 134.2. That was up from last Sunday with 133.8. I am discouraged today thinking how am I ever going to raise my carb levels if I am already gaining weight. Oh well, a new week is starting and I will just take it as a new opportunity to lose. Today we went to church. DD wouldn't stay in the nursery, so there was a little of keeping her quiet during, but the service was good. Afterwards, we ate Mexican. It was good, but I ate too much. I got a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer so I wouldn't feel left out while everyone was eating chips (even DH I found a new favorite breakfast item. I made one of those 1 minute flax muffins in a coffee cup. I added my new banana flavored davinci syrup. Then, I melted cream cheese and added the banana flavor to it. OH, it was soo good!!! I figure that I can do it with the chocolate davinci's too! YUMMY!Hope everyone had good trips. I missed all of you! Menu from yesterday: B~flax muffin(2.6) w/ flavored cream cheese(1), 1 cup CC milk(3)=6.6 L~cheese stick(1), coffee w/ HC(.4) & DS=1.4 D~Sidney's Buffet-salad(3.5), ranch(2), steak(0), shrimp(0), 1 bite of hot wing w/ ranch(1), few bites of green beans(1/2), 1 sm. slice watermelon(2), few grapes(4), 1 bite honeydew melon(1.5), coffee w/ 1/2n1/2(.5) & splenda(.8)=15.5/16.5 Total: 23.5/24.5 Ketone stick: going today to get some new Water: 32oz. Well you sound just like me at a buffet, just a little bite of this and a little bite of that.
.I wonder how it works to up our carbs too, if we gain .... but we will figure it out. I just wonder if we have already reached the carb level ? I mean I read that metabolically resistant people might not be able to have more than 40 per day (I think I read that right). So, if that's the case, do we keep carbs under 40 and still add new foods ... or are we screwed ? Sorry, I am venting too. Chips were always something I could eat once a month and NEVER gain, so maybe DH will be fine. |

Candy, not at all. High carb days mean very little proteins and fats to manage is all. You can work this any way you want as long as you balance the foods. For example, when I did the rotation diet I had 80 carbs a day which blew my mind. And most were whole grains and fruits! But, I had meat once a day and no more than 4.5 oz. Barely any fats. So don't worry. Each day you can do something else on maintenance if you limit others.
Beth, I think you gave me your PMS. 3 min chocolate cake and plenty of it... Like you, scales are up so who cares, lol? OMG it never ends.![]() |

Dear Beth,
Thanks for your post in my journal today. You can never know how much it meant to me. I was just heading in to post all about my crappy morning...blah, blah, blah, BUT, after reading your positive messages to me and everyone else, I decided to wait a bit and see if I can be a bit more positive myself. Hope you have a Blessed week as well, and all the good thoughts and prayers you share will be sent back to you ten-fold. Hugs |

Candy~Don't you know that we could tear up some buffet in the old days!
I would've hated to try to keep up with carbs back then! I wish I could eat some chips every now and then, although the only time I really want them is when we go eat Mexican. I don't know about how we will work out the carb counts yet. Maybe if we could get some reg. exercise in then we would be able to eat more and change that metabolism.TT~Thanks for keeping us all straight. You have a wealth of knowledge that you are giving us all for free! Right now it seems a little all overwhelming (but so did low carb when I started). Sorry I sent PMS over to you. At least we will all be through when you start, and then be able to bring something positive to you. Jaime~Glad I could be of some help. You caught me at a good time with this roller coaster of emotions. I think it is getting better today though. I am believing that anyway. Slowly but surely the weight is starting to come down. I dropped a whole .2(134) this morning. As DH said though when I told him, "A .2 gain is a big deal though, so be positive about a .2 loss." That comes from someone who is struggling himself now with a 5 pound gain. Yes, he too gets water gain. Maybe it is Hormonal sympathy!![]() I did a little more shopping yesterday. From all the trips over the weekend, I came away with 3 pair of pants(size 8) and 3 tops(med.) and a bra(not telling). I feel better about my trip now. I hate to go and get around all those business people and feel like I look like a slob. I also bought DH some new pants and shirts. He looks so much better in the fitted clothes. When he was 40 pounds heavier, he got used to buying big clothes (even bigger than he needed). So, the old clothes he had to stop wearing because they were huge! I don't think he liked that I spent so much money, but he knew he needed it. I try to do a lot of my shopping at Belk when they have sales. You can get some nice things for good prices. And I am a very frugal person! I am having a little anxiety over food during my trip. Of course, that doesn't say much since I am on the emotional roller coaster right now. But, I haven't flown since I have been doing LC, so I need some advice on snacks. I know Krysta has faced this so I know she will have some for me. What I worry about is that they are so particular with what you take on the plane now and the weights of stuff. Are you allowed a small cooler bag? I guess Atkins drinks would be out if they only allow 3-4 oz. of fluid carried on. Help! The other thing I am trying REALLY HARD to control also is the emotions of not being farther down the road on weight loss. I am just trying to be honest to my journal about it. Earlier when I hit 132, I told myself (and it helped) that I would just put my goal at being in the 120's by convention. Well, with the recent climb up that would mean that I would have to lose 5 pounds this week. Unless there is a miracle from God on this, it is not going to happen. Sad but true.I told DH this morning that maybe we both wanted to stick close to induction foods this week and see if we can get over this hump. He is not in the greatest of moods about Atkins right now. I hope this will help and he won't give up. I do think that he won't give up totally because he already has seen the health benefits. But, I worry about vacation and how he will handle it. I don't want to see him come back with a big gain and be upset. Part of me says well, he is a grown man and can reap whatever he does, and the other part wants to mommy him. So, this week starts lots of preparation for the trip. I also have a mammogram tomorrow. Yuck! I can't believe my goal date is already here. I guess I will be setting a new one. How does Christmas sound????![]() Menu from yesterday: B~flax muffin(2.6) w/ Choc. cream cheese(1)=3.6 L~El Campesino: Grilled chicken(0) & Shrimp(0) w/ cheese(1), onions(1), lettuce(1), sourcream(.5), guacamole(.5), mexican style shrimp cocktail(3), sm taste avocado(.2), celery(.4), cheese dip(4)=10.6 S~1/2 cup CC milk(2)=2 D~3 egg(1.8) scrambled w/ cheese(.2), onions(.6), mushroom(.5), green pepper(.2), sausage(0)=3.3 D~1/4 cup cottage cheese w/ jello=1 coffee w/ HC & DS= .4 Total: 20.9 Ketone stick this morning: trace Water yesterday: 76 oz Exercise: None besides walking while shopping |

![]() Dear Beth, there are so many emotions when we are trying to lose weight and eat healthy, aren't there?![]() ![]() I just want to reinforce in your mind how far you have come. You have lost 40 pounds! You are healthier than you were when you started. I'll bet you have so much more energy than you did 6-8 months ago. You are buying clothes in a size 8! You look beautiful in all you pictures, which you know put 10 pounds on you. You are an inspiration to so many on this board with your positive and giving attitude. I look forward to every post from you! Just wanted to cheer you up a bit this morning. ![]() I know that you are going to feel great about yourself at this convention. Eating lower carbs this week might be worth it to drop some pounds and feel more confident, although I think you have a lot to be confident about already! What day do you leave?

I'm back! I just read about your weekend. Who cares if you are up a half a pound? You are still DOWN 40! And you know what? So you may not be at your goal for your trip, you are still feeling good about yourself and so much healthier! You are going to totally enjoy yourself AND not be worrying about how you look to others, because you look great! I've had to adjust my view of this whole process a lot. I'm not going to make my goal by my vacation either, but who cares? As long as I continue losing and reach my goal, it doesn't really matter how long it takes. I know YOU will reach your goal eventually too...maybe not on the exact day you wanted to, but you WILL get there!

I am literally running out the door after this post to go get my mammogram. Wish me luck! I hope it doesn't hurt too bad. I will post when I get back. Just didn't want everyone to wonder where I was this morning. Oh, by the way, I will tell you that I dropped a pound last night. I weighed 133. Yippee! See ya later! |
