I was up .2 this morning. I am not worried about it though. There are some issues in the plumbing department as well as the fact that I exercised yesterday. A weight gain of .2 is nothing anyway!

I was surprised when I counted my carbs last night. I didn't realize I was so low. I ended up eating something really late to get it higher. I probably ate a lot of salt last night at dinner....it is hard when you go out and don't know what they are putting on your food.

I am kinda fretting about the upcoming weekend trip. I did very well last trip. I am just putting a lot of pressure on myself to reach 145 by Sunday. I don't want water weight to hinder that...and I am a little addictive to the scales. I will be lost without them! I know it is pitiful!

So, here is my menu for yesterday:

Breakfast~2 tuna muffins (2)=2
Lunch~Turkey salad made with mayo, celery, green pepper, onion flakes(1.4), 2 loose cups of raw spinach w/ 1 tbsp of olive garden dressing (1.4)=2.8

Snack~1/2 atkins bar (1)=1

Dinner~Steak(0), Peel & Eat Shrimp(0), 3 sauteed mushrooms (1), few sauteed crunchy greenbeans(1.4), couple of misc. bites of meat & vegetable(2), coffee w/ splenda (1) & 1tbsp of 1/2&1/2(.5)=5.9

Late night~tablespoon of natural peanut butter(2)=2

Total: 13.7

Beth...

Not that you asked for my advise.. but have you thought about adding a couple of small salads in there? Scottish Steve and I have been talking about upping the good carbs while working out. I think that will probably boost your fat burning... Maybe one mid morning and one sometime after dinner....

Just a thought

Thanks for the advice. I usually eat at least one salad a day (refer to past menus). Are you suggesting that I eat one as a snack? I have found that they do help with weight loss! I just might try that suggestion and see what happens! Thanks for looking out for me!

Yeah in the Atkins 72 book it talks about 2 salads per day at different intervals. I've found they help me a lot... and I added spinich in them... I think with the exercise I needed to up my GOOD CARBS... and that seems to be helping a lot... My body structure is changing a lot.. pounds aren't going fast but I see the molding of my body.

Cool, I will definitely try that! How many cups of salad would that be total for the day. I know in the beginning it says to either do 3 cups total or 2 cups with vegetables. Right?

Looking good girlie !!! I have found if I don't eat enough carbs I don't lose. I looked back at my fitday these week, and I didn't eat a lot carbs. Upped them the past few days ... and .... well you saw the loss. Those tuna muffins are the bomb, huh ?
I wish they still sold/made that Chipotle mayo you could buy in the stores. I think Linda Sue is right, and that it would compliment the flavor nicely.

So, did we discuss the chicken muffins ?

No we didn't talk about the chicken muffins. Are they good? I made a sauce you might like with the tuna muffins. It is a mixture of sourcream, mayo, and parmesan cheese. I just do a tbsp of each with more parm. It is so good to me. I have a recipe in the room that is crusted salmon with that mixture on it. I absolutely love it! I am sure that my carbs will be up this weekend...maybe that will help my goal weight for the week!

Sounds pretty yummy. About the chicken muffins. They have the same texture as the tuna muffins. But, they amazingly taste like chicken/dressing to me. If I could come up with some kind of 0 carb sauce that tasted like cranberries (since I am not to the fruit rung on the ladder) ....

I will post the recipe for you later. Don't have the link here at the office. But it's on Linda Sue's site.

Thanks...you ought to ask Linda Sue on the recipe help and suggestion room about the cranberry sauce!

Good idea. I was thinking if I could find some kind of 0 carb syrup, that could be the base.

Well Beth, looks like we were both right last night on the slight up in the numbers, huh!! Isn't that so weird how good we get at "hearing" our bodies when we are taking such good care of them? But you know what? .2 lbs is nothing. I bet it's gone, PLUS more, tomorrow.

I wouldn't worry about your trip. You've got a good handle on things, and I know you are WAY too motivated to let anything de-rail you! And maybe it will be a good thing to stay away from the scales for a few days, right? That's how I always look at it, anyway. Think about me...when I go to Fayetteville, I won't be able to weigh for OVER A WEEK! Talk about torture!

Anyway, KUTGW, Beth dear, and I will talk to you later!!

That's what I keep telling myself today....that .2 is nothing. I wish I didn't feel so bloated today! Thanks for the encouragement! If I couldn't weigh for a whole week, I think you would find me bobbing in a corner somewhere! I would be finding me a scale somewhere!

Ok, have you ever seen SugarFreeShiela post's on here. I just found out she has a site as well with tips and recipes. Since she is a member, surely I won't get in trouble for sharing this with you

Sugar Free Shiela
Looks like her recipes tell you if they are induction friendly. Some of them sound yummy and you might like them.

Hope your evening is going well. Not sure when you are leaving for your trip, but I wish you a safe and low-carb journey. You can do this. If you can go to Olive Garden and resist those breadsticks ... YOU CAN DO ANYTHING !!!

OK, here is the link for the chicken muffin recipe:
Tasty Chicken Muffins

Then this was on SF Shiela's site: not sure if it compliments the muffins -- but I just assumed Honey Mustard was gone forever ..

Quote:
Induction-Friendly, Sumptuous
Honey Mustard Dressing
4 total carbs for entire recipe - Mom helped me with this one!

3/4 cup mayonnaise
½ cup mustard
¼ tsp. red cayenne pepper
¼ tsp. garlic powder
3 packets Splenda

Mix well & chill in refrigerator.

We leave tomorrow afternoon for NC. Pray that I can find something to eat and not mess up with too many hidden carbs. We shall see on Monday!

It came back down this morning...145.6! WooHoo!! I was a little discouraged to see 146 yesterday...gearing myself up for one of those weeks where the scales creep back up toward the weekend but it didn't (still holding breath).

I didn't get any real exercise in yesterday other than running around getting ready to leave. There was lots of walking involved so I would think that counts for something.

I finally found some Calorie Countdown milk! I tried some last night. It was sooo good. It was the first thing I have had that resembled milk since September. I will be careful though. I love that it has a serving size of one cup. I get frustrated with the...you can have some but only 1/4 cup or 2 tbsp....well that is about enough as spit ! I am hoping to find some protein powder soon. I would love to be able to change it up on shakes and use it in some recipes. I know it is not real food! I am in this for the long haul, and I have got to have some things to change it up every now and then!

We are leaving today for NC. I don't think I will keep a notebook of menus while I am gone...need a break from that! I might take my ketone sticks..??? I am not going to be able to weigh! So, I will have to wait until Monday morning to weigh. I went and bought some snacks...nuts, jello, shakes, cheese, water, green tea for the trip. I'm sure I will write a book when I get back. I will also miss everyone!
Here is my menu for yesterday:

Breakfast~Atkins Shake (1)=1

Lunch~Salad (7) w/ 3 tbsp. ranch (3), turkey salad on top (1)=11

Snack~ PB chocolate homemade candy(2.2)=2.2

Dinner~Pork roast(0), 1/2 cup of greenbeans(3), 1 cup of CC milk(3.5)=6.5

Total=20.7

I will try to get on here this afternoon to put in my menu up to dinner to keep track. Have a great weekend!!

Hello! I am new to this site, but not new to low carb dieting. I am getting back to Atkins after 2 years off and having a baby. I lost 40lbs in 2004 on Atkins, but had another baby and gained it all back. This seems like a great place to get inspired. You all are doing great! I am on day 3 of induction and am doing well so far. Once I get started, I think I can stay on track.

I am just learning how to post messages, so any suggestions for getting more "sophisticated" would be appreciated.

I'm....backkkkk! It is so good to be back on here...major LC friends withdrawals during the weekend! We had an awesome time this weekend! The Embassy Suites was just beautiful! I was so proud of DH and his seminar! He is an awesome speaker, and I wouldn't be surprised if more and more doors aren't opened because of it! We were with a really great group of business owners who knew how to have fun...and we did! It was a nice getaway for this mommy of four!

OK, so I know you are wondering about my diet. I did really well...at least I think. There was a bit more snacking than normal. Mainly during the meetings...more coffee, nuts, Atkins bar. I told myself that I wasn't going to keep up with it, but I found myself during the meetings righting down everything I had. Old habits die hard! I didn't have some of the counts on some foods until last night when I looked it all up. My carb counts were 30 and a tad bit over...which were the most I have had since I started. I only had one cheat the whole weekend. When we went to the movies, I couldn't resist having a couple of hands of popcorn. I don't think that was too bad considering all the choices I had to make not eating all the stuff put before me!! And there was tons!!

I am proud to say that in spite of this weekend of higher carbs I ended the week at 145.2!! I was saying to myself when I got on the scales this morning...Lord, just let it say 145 at the beginning...never mind the point whatever! So, that makes a loss of 1.8 for the week. I think if I had been able to weigh earlier I would have seen it lower. I felt thinner on Sunday. Anyway, that sets up the week to hit 30 pounds and lower. I am truly excited, but I'm also feeling the pressure to get back on track. I know I need to step it up in the exercise department so, I am starting today!

I'm not going to type in all my menus...would be way to much reading...but they are in my notebook for reference.

Oh, the best part of this weekend was all the conversation that DH and I had riding in the car. He finally started really asking me about Atkins. I talked to him about it and the possibility of both of us being really thin at the end of June (our business convention). He started Induction this morning!! I am so excited for him to be on board with this program. I will let you know how he is doing as well.

I am determined to have a great weight loss week!!

Beth, you did awesome! 145.2! I knew you would do great on your trip! And popcorn isn't even that bad for a "cheat." It's allowed on maintenance

And woo hoo about DH! Thats awesome! And its so much easier when you have that built in support system. Definitely let us know how he does!

Sounds like we both had an awesome week! 30 lbs. down, that's amazing!
