Hope today is a great day. I have been meaning to ask you this. A while back I read that you were having some pain in your side/stomach. Did that get OK for you ?

Candy~thanks for asking. I'm fine, the pain is totally gone. Don't know what the cause was, but I have had this before. I've been tested twice before with no results. You have a great day also.

I am finally back on here! I missed you Sue!
I have the same problem with Ham. In fact after Thanksgiving and blowing up, I haven't eaten it since! I would love to see a picture of your Easter cake! I have been a little tempted to eat one piece of candy, but I keep reminding myself where I want to be in June. When are you taking your trip? It is good to plan ahead. You will be glad you did when you get there. |

Beth~I missed you too.
Ham I'll try to post a pic of the Easter cake, but I really am a computer dummy. Maybe DD can help me this afternoon. Candy~Thank you for the Easter blessing. The Lord is so good! I am feeling strong. Frosting is a weakness with me when I decorate cakes because I use only the best ingredients, so it is very rich and delicious. But, I wasn't even tempted, which IS a good place to be in my weight-loss journey. ![]()

My new goal for April is to not weigh until the last day of the month. It is going to be hard. I felt slimmer on Saturday and wanted to jump on the scale, but resisted. I know I can do this. It has just been too discouraging not to see a loss.
By the time we ate dinner yesterday I was getting really grouchy. I was sooooo hungry, and knew there wasn't much for me to eat. I didn't want to eat much ham because I thought it was a honey ham, but when I had a bite I realized it wasn't! I ate lots of my green bean cass and some broccoli salad, then had seconds of the green beans and ham. That did me for the day. Nobody mentioned my empty plate, so I was glad for that. I didn't even feel deprived since I got seconds. Now that ham is out of the picture for quite a while, I look forward to losing this water weight. ![]() |

There is NO way I could go a month without weighing. I am up 3lbs today and for NO apparent reason. So, I have decided not to weigh anymore this week until Thu (weigh-in day for my challenge).
Hope you are having a good day. |

I'm a little bored today. No car, as it is in the shop, and nothing to do but housework.
I am feeling slimmer today. Wanted to jump on the scale a few minutes ago, but didn't. Feeling proud of myself. Also wanted to download the pics from the camera today, but the software needs to be reinstalled after DH took everything off to re-install XP. I was finally going to try to post a picure, but that will have to wait. Appetite has been low today. Two HB eggs was all I needed for breakfast. I'm going to try to eat the eggs the kids decorated so as not to waste. Lunch was a hamburger patty and HB egg over a bed of lettuce with blue cheese dressing. I've had 60 ounces of water so far today. Dinner will be pork chops and a salad. My jeans are looser on my behind today. Can't wait to buy a new pair! |

Sue: Easter dinner sounds like it was yummy. What's your green bean casserole? Wanna share
? Oh... and the brocolli salad too... I've come to love brocolli and that sounds good. I am impressed with your willpower to stay off the scale. I'm not strong enough for that myself... but I do admire you for it . I am absolutely certain you are going to see a loss whenever you do decide to peek . I think clothes are really the best indicator. Can't wait to see some pics .Last edited by crazyredhead : 04-09-2007 at 04:49 PM. |

Hillary, here is the green bean cass and the broccoli salad also, if you're interested.
Dottie's Green Bean Casserole 2 cans green beans - french cut (I just use regular) 4 oz mushroom stems and pieces, drained 1/2 med yellow onion, sliced into thin rings 2 stalks celery, sliced small 2 T butter 1/2 C heavy cream 1/4 C mayo 1 C assorted cheeses, grated 3/4 t salt 1.2 t pepper 1/2 t garlic powder Melt butter in dkillet and sautee the onions, celery and mushrooms until soft. Mix the mayo and cream. Mix everything together in a casserole dish and bake at 350, covered, for 30 minutes. Uncover and brown. Broccoli Salad broccoli, cut up into small pieces bacon, fried until crisp, cut into small pieces tomatoes onion, chopped mayo I don't measure the ingredients, just add however much I want, then mix together. Sometimes I add in the bacon grease for more flavor. You'd never know it's there, except for the great flavor it adds. I know it will be hard to stay off the scale, but I'm giving it a try. |

Yummmm... thanks for the recipes!
Those do sound really good. Will definitely have to try both. Stupid question, sorry... but it's a raw broccoli salad, not cooked, right? |

Hillary~I love the broccoli dish. It has been a long time staple around here.
Candy~I can relate to stalls and gains being discouraging. I'm trying my hardest not to let them get the best of me this time. Ya know, I wonder if I lose inches, then lose on the scale. I seem to be losing some inches right now. Not weighing, but sure am tempted. This seemed to happen when I went for 15 days without a loss. I was losing inches, then all of the sudden, I dropped 3.5 pounds in a few days. I guess it doesn't matter how it happens, but I sure would like to understand my body and how it works. Tomorrow we are taking DD to the Univ she is going to for a Campus Day. It's the same one I and my parents went to, a private Christian college that has just recently turned Univ. Should be a fun day. Not sure what we will do about food, maybe just get some bunless burgers at a fast food place, or salads. |

I wish I had been measuring along the way. I think that would've really helped during the "scale drought". Of course, it may have been the same story. I would have had something else to be upset with....not losing inches!
It is so good to see others going to private Christian colleges. Both DH and I went to a Christian college here in Ga. It was a wonderful experience (especially since we met there! ). It won't be long before I will be taking my oldest to college! Is this her first year? |
