Even if you have to go get a really cheap scale.....from the words of a really wise person I know (Sue)....GO GET A NEW SCALE!!!!! Either that or go to the health department or somewhere they will let you weigh. You've gotta get this thing settled so you can be free again from that awful inaccurate number. ![]() It's good that you can find some clothes at the goodwill. My scale was good until my sister borrowed it. Honestly, I can't figure out how that happened. I loved my scale because it always gave me the same number (and hate it because no matter where I moved it, it was the same number). I won't blame her though. She does take good care of things. It's just plain old. At least 5 years.
I have no sense of cool with my kids. Never buy clothes for them anymore without them there. Had a fun day on the computer and a very boring day at home. ![]() |

Hello Sue......Reading the issues you are having w/ your scale makes me think I should stop weighing myself. I find that I base my moods on the stupid number and I should know better than that!!
Do you take your measurements also?? |

I think measuring is the most accurate way to monitor fat loss, but I have become addicted to the scale. I can see that this week. It's just so strange how it affected how I felt about my body, even though the scale was way off. I may just have to quit weighing again and go exclusively by the tape measure. I have kept track of my measurements since February.

Tired this morning. Oldest DS went to a Warren Miller movie last night with a group of people in a city north of us, so I didn't get home from getting him at the drop-off point until 11:00. As I developed a headache that was very strange yesterday and got very severe last night, I took one Excedrin PM, which helped, but I feel knocked out this morning.
Today is grocery shopping day for me. I love grocery shopping day, although I am not looking forward to shopping with this orthopedic boot on. I had another evening of not being hungry at dinner time, so I ate a salad with flaxoil dressing, green beans roasted in olive oil and some jello. Was a little hungry when I went to bed but just ignored it. I am finding that I'm eating more in the morning and less in the afternoon/evening lately, which is fine. O.K., so I must get over my obsession with the scale right now. I have decided not to weigh so often. This will be hard, but I realized yesterday how much I enjoyed not having a scale for two months.

Hi Sue,
Hope you don't get a headache today! I know what you mean about the scale. I have stopped weighing everyday. I think I will have a Monday morning weigh-in only. Have gotten up to about page 200 in the Taubes book. Pretty amazing stuff! I want to find some used or cheaper copies to give out as gifts this Christmas to a few close friends. I find it astounding! Are you able to read, or has DH taken it over? Hugs and Peace |

Jaimie~DH finished the book and now I'm reading it, although I got side-tracked by an Agatha Christie book.
It is a wonderful reinforcement that our WOE is good and healthy. |

Good Morning Stalker! LOL
I'm obsessed with my scale too, but you know what everyone say's, if your clothes feel good and are getting loose then you know you are losing. Don't always go by the scale Sue, you know our clothes have the final say. Plus we lose inches too! I was really happy the other day. I went to Kohls and looked for some clothes, I can now wear 1x in tops, when I used to wear 3x! I bought me a size 20 pants, I tried them on at home and they are too big!! Whoohoo!! I need to get a size 18! Yeah-yeh!! I haven't worn an 18 for years! That made my day. I'll have to write that in my journal too! Ta-Ta! Diana

I agree w/ you about not weighing so often...it is hard because I want to "see" my progress but the number depresses me! (You and I are about the same weight) How often do you think you're going to weigh in??

This will be my only time on here today as DH is taking the computer to his uncles for a scanning party with his sister and mom. They are scanning all the old family pics.
Diana~maybe they give out new scales? ![]() Jennifer~I'm thinking about weighing once a week, like maybe on Monday or Friday. Want to join me? Lisa~hey, some days I don't have a life either. ![]() Not sure what the boys and I will do. The high school has another big football game in the state championship, so they will probably go to that. I might take the boys shopping for some clothes. I have some books to read, so I might just do that for most of the day. The problem is when I sit around like that I want to eat. I made LC pizza with the flax crust, but did not do the caesar chicken one like I wanted to do (from Beth's recipe). Just made plain old pepperoni. It was good, but I ate 4 pieces, way too much, mostly of the flax. My foot is almost pain-free now. My Dad got out of the hospital yesterday. He sounded o.k., but I know he was tired by the time he got home. My sister is leaving this morning, so I must call her cell and find out some things about in-home care that I need to know and may not be forthcoming from my folks. |

Hi Sue. I wanted to say thank you for coming to see my journal. I'm glad your foot is healing and even happier still that your dad is home. I'm a hospital social worker here in NY and if there are home care questions I can help with, pm me and I'll help if I can.

Sara~thanks for visiting my journal.
I may be asking you questions in the next few days. I need to get some info from my sis, but she was traveling Oregon to the East Coast over the weekend, so I'll catch her tomorrow.Jennifer~you really need to start a journal! I love mine. My folks live in Oregon. What day works best for you? I like Monday's to keep me accountable over the weekend. Had a pretty boring day yesterday. I did take the boys shopping and got some things they needed, but the rest of the day we stayed at home. It was a long day. I did do some cooking in the afternoon, which was good since I don't have to cook today! |

Jennifer~o.k., let's weigh in on Mondays. Anyone else that would like to join us is free to.
Diana~Yes, we're all off for the day. My Dad is home, but very weak. I talked to him last night and he sounded terrible. He had a doctor's appointment today so anxious to hear what his doc had to say. Today's weight for Monday weigh-in - 175. |

Can it be Tuesday morning already?
O.k. Jennifer, Diana and anyone else who wants a Monday weigh-in, I'm excited about this! It will be hard not to weigh through the week, but I will make a good effort. If I do, I won't post it here. I just joined another challenge in the challenge forum called brick busters, or something like that, for those who are having a hard time getting below a certain number. Getting below 170 has been a huge obstacle for years for me, so I'm going to really start trying hard to do that. I'm not sure if they will be weighing every day or not. We had a pretty good day off yesterday. We were planning on going to our local wonderful Veterans Memorial Museum yesterday but they were closed, so we just sort of hung out at home. I did some cooking and DH worked on getting paint off an old oval copper picture frame that he bought years ago. Yesterday's menu: B~2 eggs, 2 bacons 1.2 coffee/cream 2 L~vegetable beef soup 4 tuna/egg salad sandwich on a revolution roll 2.5 S~couple small handfuls of pistachios 6 D~ham 1 salad/flaxoil dressing 5 green beans 4 Total - 25.7 |

Goodmorning Sue,
Umm, your menu sounds good! How do you make your beef barley soup? I'm going to try and not weigh until Monday too, try that is! lol! It will be hard but not that hard, TOM came and I'm thinking that my weight may not change for a couple days anyway. I'm still at 205, which is good, I'm not going backwards like I had been doing. No wonder I have been craving chocolate and started eating chocolate Atkins bar!!!! I know, I know!!! lol Okay, so I will start exercising again to see if that will jump start my weight loss. Talk to you later! Diana |

Diana, I made a pot roast in the crock pot last week, so I just saved the broth, added the left over meat, water, diced radishes, cabbage and green pepper and simmered until all was tender. It was so good. The radishes taste like little chunks of potato in it. I would have used onions, but I was out.
Do you have a whoosh after TOM? If I stay on plan and eat perfect during TOM, I can expect one, although I only have TOM 2-3 times a year, so I don't have many windows. |
