Beth, I've done the notebook for two days now and I'm enjoying it. I did the Prism diet years ago and lost 55 pounds. I would never do it again because it was low fat, low cal, but we journaled everything, plus had a lesson every day. I miss that journaling, so this will be good for me. Yes, it is always nice to find fellow believers.

Looks good...thank you for letting me into your menu.

I think that might be a good idea adding some veggies. I tend to eat a salad for lunch and then some veggie for dinner (or vica versa).

How is that flax oil for salads? Is there a specific kind you use? I haven't tried the 3 minute cake.

I've been doing Atkins 72 and sticking to really low carbs, but I know it is time to add more veggies. I'm missing them.

Flax oil is alright; DH and I are using it because of the omega 3 benefits, but I would rather have blue cheese. It does have a bit of a flavor, but if I add 1 T of that and 1 T of a regular dressing, it is much better.

Before DH started low-carbing again, he was using it in his oatmeal in the morning, and it really did enhance the flavor of the oatmeal.

We have gotten a couple brands, but right now have a brand that is made in WA called Barlean's. It's 100% organic, pure, unfiltered and cold pressed.

it is always nice to see a new menu. I bought different greens today and I want to have salads with meat on top. I have been almost without vegetables since I started 72. I would have a couple stick of cucumber once in a while.

Hi Yolande. How long have you been doing 72? I upped my veggies yesterday. I had 2 cups of frozen spinach mixed with some left over roast beef and some of the broth. It was pretty good. Then I had my salad for dinner. Today I will have cut up cukes and celery for lunch, and then a salad for dinner.

Thanks Beth.

I have done the CO now for a week and don't see a real difference, but am going to switch things around this week.

*I'm going to eat only plain CO, not the bark, having 1 T after every meal.

*I'm going to lower my carbs from other things (like cocoa powder) and up my veggie carbs.

I am a little discouraged that in the last week I've only had a half pound loss, but I'm still hanging in there. What else is there to do? Cheat and gain? No, I will keep eating right, and wait it out.

I like keeping my journal on paper, not online. I look forward to putting entries in it. Better go add lunch.......

Sandy~I'm better today My weight is up 1.5 pounds, but I know that it's because I started exercising this week. I put on my jeans this morning, they felt GOOD, and I thought, why get discouraged? It's working! I will keep exercising, not let the temporary weight gain upset me, and eat right.

Hi Sue.... how are things going? It's been a while since I've been around... finally came back from my trip. Glad to see you talked yourself out of being discouraged... the slight gain seems to happen to everyone when they exercise more. Glad to see that you are journaling as well. I think it really does help to write down everything you eat... there have been studies that apparently show people who journal lose more weight and keep it off better. I know I definitely think twice about eating something I will probably regret later... just because I am going to have to write it down later . I have to say... you always have such a good attitude

I'm down half a pound today.

Even though I wasn't eating out of control last week, carb creep was taking place, and I think it was because of the coconut oil. When I tried it a couple years ago, the same thing happened. For some reason, it just makes me crave more food. I guess I'll have it sometimes when cooking, or making the bark, but not 3 T a day.

Was really hungry when I got home from my volunteer job today, so I ate a fried egg on a RR with mayo and mustard. It filled that spot that needed to be filled.

Hoping that the losses will continue this week. I would like to lose at least another pound or more by the end of the month, but know there's nothing I can do to force that.

Hillary~I saw you were down to 183 this morning. I'm jealous. I was hoping for that today, but at least the half pound stuck.

I'm going to do an egg fast today. I am eating 10 eggs, had two pieces of bacon for breakfast, but that's it for other foods. The cals come in a little under 1000 and carbs for the day will be 10. I made a mocha with one of my cups of coffee with cocoa powder and a dash of cream to help move the slow moving system. It worked.

I will admit that I want to get down closer to 180 by the end of the month, so I may do this for a couple of days, then very slowly add some veggies in on Friday. Just an experiment.

O.k., so the egg fast lasted through lunch, but by dinner I couldn't stomach the thought of another egg.

I'm down another pound today. Going to work really hard to get down another pound by the end of the month. Just keeping it simple.

Sandy~I wish I had kept a journal because I can't remember when I started A72, but it was the first part of January. I had probably lot 5-6 pounds doing regular Atkins, so that means about 11-12 with it. I really do love this plan.

How is maintenance going? How many carbs are you eating a day?

Sue: you are doing really well. Obviously you didn't need to be jealous of my "183" especially since you reached that goal yourself (as for me I went back up a pound... oh well ). I can't believe you even made it through lunch with just eggs. I get so bored easily... I try to do something different every meal (well... except for leftovers). How long do you think you will stick with the 72 plan?

Hey Sue! It's good to be back on your journal. Looks like you are doing great. Of course, reading the egg fast about made me gag ...desperate times call for desperate measures huh? KUTGW! I will catch up with you later!

Just thinking about that egg day, or 2/3 egg day makes me sick. I love eggs for breakfast, but need more variety than that. I like to eat diff things at each meal also, so I really do mix it up a lot. I'm going to stick with A72 until I meet goal. The only real difference between this and the newer version is that I count full carbs. I'm slowly upping my carbs, mostly with veggies right now. As I lose more weight I will add in more things like flax, berries and melons, etc... But, I still will need to keep it low to lose.

Hey Mommy, good to hear from you. As far as the egg fast goes I've decided I'm not THAT desperate to lose weight!

I'm down to 181.5 this morning, but not sure if it will stick because I just haven't eaten that much in the last couple days.

I ended up in bed all day yesterday with severe abdominal pain. Everytime I ate, it got worse. Today I'm feeling better, but don't have time to take it easy because we have a bunch of people coming over for DS's baptism.

My clothes are feeling better each day. I bought a new shirt for Uncle Bob's funeral, and I felt really good in it with my black pants. Think I will wear that outfit today.
