I agree hang in there my dear friend. You will get a woosh. Mine was just a fluke, it was back up this morning. I also went for MONTHS and didn't lose a pound. So, I am sure that cycle will repeat itself with me. I see it with others too. Just don't give up. And when you start losing and I stall again, you can remind me.

I won't give up, Candy. The only thing that would do for me is make me gain.

I was hormonal again yesterday. I know that is what is causing me to be discouraged about this, but I will not let it get me down. I know I'm losing inches, so why get upset?????

I took a T of psyllium husks in the morning, and another last night. Will try that for a few days to see how it works.

I have also decided to start regular Atkins, do Induction levels for a couple weeks, then start moving up the carb ladder. It's time. I need more variety in my diet now, and will do it the right way according to the book.

Yesterday I was stressed after my volunteer job, came home hungry and ate a lot. I had pork rinds with sour cream, cottage cheese, 4 strawberries with half & half, and 1 T PB before bed. For dinner all I ate was a hamb patty. I wasn't up on the scale this morning, which I thought I would be.

So, here's to a day of clean Atkins Induction. Can't wait to have three cups of veggies.

Might try the net carb thing to see how I do. I lost a lot better last year when I was counting net carbs. We'll see. There are so many factors that differ from year to year, one being that I am on BCPs now, which I wasn't last year.

I am so glad to see that you are ready for a change! I think that you have made the right decision. We all need variety in our diet since we are making this a WOL thing. Veggies are good for you!!

I wouldn't worry about the snack feast. It is all hormone related. It happens to us all. You made the right choices and that is what counts in the end. No increase on the scales and after eating pork rinds...you are the bomb!

How are the measurements going? Are you seeing a decrease? You must report these things you know!

Remind me what BCP's are

Sue: I think you'll really like having more variety and more veggies... and I bet you actually see the scale move down as well with the change in diet. Don't worry about the snacking either... your choices really weren't bad at all... and as you know from my journal... it could be much worse . Hope you have a good day

BCPs are birth control pills

I lose inches when me measured on Sunday, but not as much as hoped for. But, I lost, so was still happy.

I do think adding things in will be good. I don't want to be caught in the trap of being afraid to add good carbs to the diet. That is not what Atkins is about.

I really do need more variety. I am going to have brussels sprouts tonight and not feel guilty about eating a higher carb veggie.

Good for you (about the brussel sprouts)! I remember when I started I would pick out every shredded carrot out of my salad when I went out to eat! How silly! No one ever got fat off carrots! I love to sautee' brussel sprouts in a frying pan with butter until they are almost burnt. I haven't done it in a while...now I will have to go get some!

I like to toss mine with some olive oil and bake in my baking stone until they are REALLY done. Yum. Can't wait.

Good morning Hillary and Beth.

My Mom always said if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. That's my mood this morning. These hormones are killin' me

Hi AuntieMame and thank you for consoling me.

A baking stone is made of clay. I have flat ones (for cookies, pizza, flat bread, etc...) and then regular baking dishes. They are all from the Pampered Chef, but you can also get them at kitchen stores. They are the most wonderful baking dishes. You never use soap on them, just clean with hot water after they have cooled, so they "cure" like cast iron pots. I rarely have to grease mine and clean up is so easy. I haven't hardly used any other baking dishes in the 8-9 years that I've had these.

Hi there Sue. I truly hope you can get some hormone relief soon.
I am excited that you are changing up your diet. I think you will do fine. I do the newer Atkins, but don't count net carbs. I count it all. I don't think your snacks were bad at all. I agree with Beth, if you can eat pork rinds and not gain the next morning .... YOU ARE THE BOMB !!

Pork rinds don't make me gain because I never eat that many of them. Not one of my favorite snacks, but in a pinch, better than nothing.

I'm headed out to my folks this weekend. They live in Oregon. I will be all by myself. Two of the kids will be gone over the weekend, so this was a good time to visit my very ill/dying father.

I'm going to have to add a baking stone to my "What to Look for at Williams-Sonoma Outlet" list - as if I needed anything added to it I kitchen stuff!!

I'm back.

I had a nice time with my folks, but it was good to get home to DH and the boys. DD is gone on a trip. The house was all cleaned up with I got home, and they even put a clean tablecloth on the dining room table. I have to admit that I didn't leave it in the best state.

I did a good job of eating this weekend, and I'm hoping to see a loss in the morning. I'll not be disappointed if I don't see a loss, though. I have been counting net carbs, and feel like I've been eating a lot, but my clothes feel good, so I'm going to keep it up.

I feel bad about the whining I did last week. I have lost weight, my clothes are feeling so good and I'm fitting into things that I did not fit into even a month ago, so I have no reason to be discouraged.

Good to see you back Sue! I am glad that you had a good visit. There is no place like home though. You are doing fantastic girl! Our clothes tell the story. You know I was thinking today that we don't wear our weight on a sign around our neck. But everyone sees how we look! Who cares what the numbers are....it is what we look like that really matters! Soon you will be buying new clothes and having to throw out those you feel good in right now because they are just too big!

AuntieMame~baking stones are a must have in my book!

Beth, I can't wait to get rid of some of these clothes. I have had one pair of jeans that I've been able to fit into, and they are getting thread bare. I have this thing about not wanting to buy clothes in a bigger size, so these have been worn and worn. I'm about in another pair of jeans I have, so I think I will try those on again today.

I have a busy day cleaning as my MIL is coming for a visit tomorrow.

Haven't weighed yet today, but not getting my hopes up. Will break out the tape measure although it's not time to measure yet.
