Tuning an Acura ..... weight loss Journal

This is my weight loss journal, I like to think of it as as the story of tuning my body. My Husband works on our Car (2005 Pontiac GTO), so I am going to work on me. ( I drive an Acura TSX.)

I have been fighting a weight problem for about 18 years. Today I am 34, weighed in at 299, (which is a weight I swore I would never see again) and if I gain any more I will have to go out and purchase new clothing again. Since December I gained about 25 lbs. Its amazing how just ignoring the scale makes knowing about ones weight issues seem to go away. I was eating Pop tarts, and telling my self I would start my diet tomorrow, I will go to the gym tomorrow. You know, paying for a gym member ship isn’t the same as paying and going.

In August of 2005, I worked really hard, watched my carbs and worked out, I went from 320 (which was the highest weight I can remember) to 240, and than gained it all back. I can blame working from home, or I can really blame my bad habits. You know they say it takes 21 days to form a good habits and just 3 to break it, well its TRUE.

In February 2006, I moved to Rockledge, to live with my fiancé and the weight began to come back. I just ignored the scale, I went from wearing jeans that were a size 22/ 20 to a size, 24, 26, and now a 28. In September I married the most wonderful man I have ever met. He is truly my best friend; we can talk about anything and everything. He loves me for me. He is in the Air Force, and struggles with weight as well, but for him he has to fit with him the Air Force guide line. So he really does understand how hard it is for me.

About two weeks ago I decided to step on the scale, and the number I saw made me ill. So I decided to stop eating junk food, and work out and eat low carb. I cuddled up with my hubby and told him how unhappy I was, and what I am going to do about it.

So here I am today 2/2/07, and I am starting my journal, these boards have helped so many people, and the people that come and post here daily truly understand what each and every one of us go thru. Weight loss isn’t easy and every little bit of support we can get makes a difference and helps.

Today I am in Ketosis again, my little buddy strips prove that, and soon I am going to the gym to work out. I started at 15 min on the Arc trainer (two weeks ago), and now I am up to 30, and feeling wonderful about it.

I am really looking forward to my cruise in April with my hubby, and my goal is to loose 35lbs by than. So mini goal April 14th of 264 here I come.

Feb 2nd, 31 min on the Arc trainer, 1.3 miles ( I know doesnt sound like a LOT but the Arc trainer is like running up a mount of sand for 1.3 miles)

came home and made Fajiatas for Lunch, no bread just steak, chicken and pepper, just a few it was yummy

Last night my hubby and I went to the track with his son and soon to be daughter in law. We started talked weight loss ( his soon to be daughter in law and I) and that I was going low Carb. She is getting married in May wants to loose a little weight before. I recommended low carbing it with me. This morning I showed her the LCF boards and she is going to post and become a member of this wonder community.

She came over for a low carb breakfast and we have eggs and bacon omelets.
Soon we are going to the gym that we both belong too, and are going to work out.
I am looking forward to having someone close to diet with.

Last night I had some left over fajita meat for dinner and worked out my 31 min for Cardo, this morning I had my eggs omelet for breakfast and heading to the gym

My goal for working out 800 min this month will be 1/8 of the way completed today !!! WOOT ME !

Today I went to the gym and did 30 min on the Arc trainer, I felt really good afterwards, came home took a shower and finished out my work day.

My hubby got me some chicken wings for lunch, and for breakfast I had a three egg omelet with crumbled bacon.
For dinner I am going to have fajita meat and some peppers. I took my vitamins and could have drank more water, so I will drink more.

my ketosis stick (which I cut in half, thanx LCF for the advise) are purple but the numbers on the scale havent changed much. It bugs me a little but I am not going to stress it, I guess most likely I am gaining muscles from working out.

Going to get my hair done, color those grays and get a few high lights.

I think tomorrow I am going to do with 30 min work out at the gym to mix it up instead of just doing the arc trainer.

This morning I woke up with a horriable taste in my mouth .. OMG how do I get rid if it, its like sucking on 10 pennies....

For breakfast I had an omelet with bacon and eggs, and steped on the scale but as always that weight in didnt count, I could only the numbers on Monday morning.

I will goto the gym at lunch again today and make my rolls with roastbeef, turkey and cheese.

Today I have to drink a lot more water, as a matter of fact I will start now, I think I get head aches from not drinking enough...

Well its nice to see Jonsbaby posting and using the wonderful information on the boards.

I am thinking of making the revolution rolls today as well......they sound yummy.

today I went to the gym and I tried the "30 min" work out area to try to break up working out. Meaning one day I will do cardo and the next try something different.

I did the 30 min work out where for 1 min you do 1 peice of equipment and than walk on a stepper for 1 min than move to the next item, and WOW did it 30 whooooop my butt..

I am actually a little sore, hopefully will feel better tomorrow, I am going to bed early since my hubby has to be up at 4am.

For dinner I had 2 baby steaks and some green veggies.

I had some left over wings from last night and had them for breakfast this morning, along with 2 slices of swiss cheese. Sticks are still pinkish purple and I am working out again.

Cant wait till Monday morning to weight in and see how much I lost !!

Since I started keeping track, I have lost 5lbs and I am sure it would have been more but I have been working out at the gym and I am sure that adding mucles add some weight back.

I am going to start a fitday journal ( again ) and track what I eat there so I can get a better count on carbs.

I have lost 2 inches on my hips so I am excited about that.

3 eggs and 1 slice of bacon for breakfast
Roast beef, turkey and salami rolls for lunch
Taco salad for dinner, just taco meat, lettuce, and a little cheese and salsa.

havent posted in a while and that means I cheated. I went on my cruise and ate like crap.

I am starting the Atkins 72' approach and following it stricktly, took forever for the book to get here but itsw finally here. I am also tracking my weight and progress on Fitday.com

Breakfast was 4 eggs fried and 3 slice of bacon, and drinking LOTS of water
