Real original title there huh?
So today is day 1 (again). I just wanted to start a journal for myself so when those weak moments come lurking around I can come and read my journal to remember the journey. Here is my story for anyone that is reading.... I can't really say what I weighed while in my teens or early 20's. I never weighed myself. I was average, I think. I can remember buying sizes ranging from 4-8. I have never had a flat tummy though. I have always had that pouch. It wasn't untill started working in NYC and moved out of my parents house at 25 to live with my BF (now DH) that weight started to creep on. When I went to try on my wedding dress in Jan. 2000 and it didn't fit that the diet game started. I was at 150 at that time. With Metabolife ( ) and eating less, by the wedding day in July, I was 126. It was also the last time I would see the 120's on the scale.In October 2001, I was PG with my 1st and remember weighing in at my pre-natal appt. at 166. The day before I delivered I was 169. I ate normal while I was PG and had GD the last 10w of my PG'cy. My body just did not gain while PG. At my 6w appt. I was again 150.In April of 2002, we make the big move from Long Island, NY to S.E. Florida. New house, loving the new baby now groing to a toddler, I didn't think about weight at all, untill we decided we would like to have #2. So in Jan. 2004, I started Atkins for the first time at a whopping 183!! I decided that I would not start trying to get PG untill I was at least 160 (what I was for the first PG). I found this site and just lurked. I got down to my 160 fairly quick, I think by March or so, and got PG again in the end May of with #2. At my first appt. I was exactly 160. The day before I delivered I was 177. And at my 6w in March 2005 I was 158.In Jan. 2006, at 171 I made my 2nd attempt at Atkins. I did great! I started exercising almost everyday, doing a DVD while DD#1 was at school and DD#2 was napping. On days that DD#1 didn't have school I would get up in the morning and work out before she woke up. I was wearing a size 8 (from a tight 14) by May. In the 130's and wearing clothes that I had worn on my honeymoon. I decided to go to NY (w/o the kids) to go to a friends baby shower and it was a bumpy ride from then till now. I went away for the weekend, ate what I wanted, came back about 3lbs heavier (probably alot of bloat from water weight) and got right back on. Thinking I was OK. I wasn't. Once you go off, It is just that much easier to go off again. That is what happened. I can't even remember how many times I would "start again on Monday". I eventually gave up restarting every Monday. And just decided that 1/22/07 would be my date and that is final. So that's my story, here I am at 158.2, 22.8 lbs from my lowest. I'm not going to get down on myself, because I know that I can do it. I took some not so pretty pictures of myself today and I am going to take monthly progress shots. I will be taking my measurements and starting up exercising again too. I want to talk to myself here about how I felt the past few weeks. Because I know that in a few months when I am feeling good, I will have forgotten all this. My hair looks horrible. No shine, no bounce. My toenails are so dry and brittle. My skin has no glow to it. Just blah. I am always sweating at night. My back hurts. My knees hurt. Hearburn and indigestion. The other day I was eating lunch and my face hurt, like it was getting fat. Seriously...I kid you not. Sure there were some good meals, some good desserts. But for the most part I was eating to eat, not because I was hungry. Here is what I have had today... B ~ 2 eggs with 1 slice white american cheese L ~ Salad with let, tom, mushrooms, olives, feta, chicken with O/V D ~ Baked butter/garlic Chicken breast with broccoli S ~ SF jello and tea with cream + splenda (save this for while I'm watching Heroes) Thanks for reading so far. This is my journey so far, hope ya like it. I'm going to post more and try to come out of my shell and stop lurking!
