Sorry, I just had to revel in the moment for a bit I am mentally preparing myself for the possibility of bouncing between 139-140 before settling well into the 130's, but still, seeing 139.8 on the scale this morning was AWESOME! I got on the scale like 6 times to make sure I wasn't seeing things!

I finished my "free" weekend yesterday like I said, not counting my carbs, or anything, but I know I did fine. I started the day with a cup of tea w/ cream and splenda. Then a LATE breakfast of LC pancakes with SF syrup and 1/2 c. blackberries and cream. For a snack, nuts and cheese. For dinner, BBQ Chicken (LC BBQ sauce), steamed broc and cauli w/ cheese sauce, and a jello salad w/some no sugar added diced peaches and frosted with a cream cheese/splenda topping. It was SO GOOD, it was like a dessert! And that was it. I was a little hungry by the time I went to bed, but it was too late to eat anything, so I didn't.

I've been thinking that it may be a good thing to go a few days without counting my carbs so that I don't get so dependent on having to count out every little thing I put in my mouth before I decide whether I can eat it or not. I want to get to the point where I can inately know what and how much is fine for me to eat to maintain my weight, without having to be tied to my carb counter all the time! But at the same time, I think it is good for me to write down everything I eat, ESPECIALLY while I am still in the losing phase, just for accountabilities sake. But it's good practice to go without counting every now and then, and realize that I can still be in control of what I eat.

Today, I am back to counting my carbs. I want to be particularly careful to try to stablize myself in the 130's, if possible. I set my weekly goal to lose a modest 1 lb. That would put me at 138.8. If I lose more, GREAT! But if not, it's ok, because I will have already made it into my monthly goal range. In fact, to hit the high end of my monthly goal I only have to get to 139.2. That seems pretty do-able at this point! I exceeded last weeks goal by .2 lbs...my goal last week was to be 140.0 by today!

I went for a long walk last night, and will probably go for another one today. In fact, if the weather stays as nice as it's been, I will probably walk this whole week. However, I REALLY need to just bite the bullet and break out my Denise Austin DVD so I can get working on my stomach. I don't want to have a saggy, weak tummy by the time I reach goal. I don't know why it is so hard for me to get that started. Mental, I guess. I will set my goal for that very low this week, and make mayself do it AT LEAST ONCE this week!

Next Monday I am going to North Carolina for a week. That's right, a whole week without weighing! ACK! But there is NO WAY I am going to cheat while I'm there. I am going to go to the store as soon as I get there and buy myself a few "supplies" to get me through: Yogurt, Cheese sticks, Nuts, Atkins bars and shakes, some Berries and eggs, etc. Fortunately I'm staying with a friend, so I can use her kitchen when I need to. And I'm sure we will eat out a few times, which is fine. I can find something to eat anywhere.

Well, that's about it for my Monday accountability. Obviously I am very happy today! And I am ready for another great week of losing!!

Hello Krystalyn we have very similar stats. I love reading your journal; it inspires me!!! I do have a question though. Do you watch portions or calories or JUST carbs? Hope you have a wonderful, healthy, happy day!!

Hi Lara! I'm 5'2 also, so we do have very similar stats!

Honestly, I never watch my calories, just my carbs. On occasion, I will run a menu through The Daily Plate, just to see where my calories are at (usually around 1200+) but I don't focus on them at all.

Portions, however, yes, I do. I measure out a lot of my food. Not so much pure proteins like meat, but things like yogurt, fruit, cottage cheese, nuts, etc. And honestly, I find that a serving size generally satiates me. Of course, I also go by what my body tells me...if I get hungry between meals & snacks, or if I am STILL hungry after eating one portion, I eat. But I try not to eat just for the food's sake.

Ah, Beth, thanks, but you're pretty amazing yourself!

And thanks, Candy for all the encouragement! You guys are awesome

I have to say, I was ravenous today! I feel like all I did was eat, but when I look back on my menu, I guess I didn't do so bad I will be sure to post it tomorrow. I think, too, that I am going to up my carbs just slightly this week to around 27. I can't bring myself to do a whole 5 carb jump, but I think I can handle doing 27 consistently and seeing how that affects my loss. It's time I up things a little, I think. I've been at 25 for quite a while.

I'm still experimenting with fruit. Last week I had strawberries and blackberries. I the blackberries. Only about 6.5 carbs per cup! I think I will see how I do with the 27 daily carbs before experimenting with any other types of fruit, though. Then I may have to check the carb ladder again after that. I can't even remember what's next! However, I don't plan on adding much more until I get to pre-maintenance, which I'm figuring I will start somewhere between 125-130 lbs, so I've got a few more pounds before I start worrying about the next level of the carb ladder!

Anyway, those are just a few more thoughts I had today. I'm bracing myself for the possibility of being back up to 140 point something tomorrow.. Crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen, but PLANNING on bouncing back up for a bit. Here's for 139!

Morning Krista. I haven't gotten to the fruit yet. The only berry I like is the strawberry. I have added nuts this week, and haven't loss. But, I don't know if that's the problem or not. Gotta figure this out before I had the next step, so I certainly understand. Hope you have a great day and KUTGW !!

Well, just as I suspected, I was up a bit this morning, bouncing between 140.0 and 140.2. I have a feeling it's going to take some fighting to really get a hold on the 130's, but I will win the battle!

I do work today, and there have been workers in the kitchen all morning replacing my parents countertops, so I haven't really had a chance to eat much. So I don't know what I'm going to do about dinner! I have to leave in about 25 minutes, though, so I'd better figure it out!

Later, peeps!

It all good....your going to make it! And I know you will conquer the 130's just like you conquered the 160's , 150's , and now the 140's ! How do you like it spelled out like that, huh? You are the bomb! I do have one question for you though...where are the menus? Don't work too hard! Keep your chin up. That fat can't hold on too long!

I know...I was in such a hurry to get to work that I totally forgot to post my menu! I've still been writing them down in my journal, I promise! I'm just slacking in posting them lately Honestly, I'm wondering if I should bother trying to keep my food journal while I'm in NC. But if I don't that's a whole week unaccounted for AND it may make it easy to slip out of the habit. Hmmm...

I would keep the journal, just jot it down. Don't stress too much over it, you will do fine. You will lock into the 130's soon.

Ok, so I went up slightly again today....140.4

Here's the menu from yesterday:

B - choc PB protein shake - 8

L - small portion of tuna w/ mayo - 0
cheese stick - .75
BB sweet freedom yogurt - 3

S - Atkins bar - 3
Large handful of nuts - 4

D - wendy's chicken BLT Salad w/ ranch - 18 according to their website...I won't be getting one of THESE again for awhile! (Even though I only ate probably half the dressing, cause I saw on the packet that the whole thing was 5 carbs, so minus 2 more carbs from the dressing for 16 total)
Lite Lemonade - 0 according to their website, but I know the can has like 2, at least.

Total = 35-ish carbs Yikes!

This is the highest I've eaten so far. I didn't mean to, I just got the Wendy's salad cause I had to, and didn't check the nutritional value till I got home. I had no idea it was that much! No wonder I went up! And...I'm out of Keto sticks, so I can't check my level of Ketosis I'm going to have to go out and get some more today. Well, I'm just going to have to be extra careful today. And at least I know now about the salad at Wendy's...Im going to do a little more research to see what I CAN have, since I will probably be doing a lot of eating out while Im in NC.

Learned my lesson the hardway on fast food salads. If in doubt, get a bunless burger. Most dressing (except Captain D's) seem to be fairly high in carbs. Then there's the hidden carbs in the salad itself. But, we live and learn. Don't look back, just learn from it and move forward.

Me too! I have been attacked by the Fast food salad! At least you didn't eat several of the taco salads there before you realized it . I decide today that I was going to go on all the websites of the places I eat the most and print out the menus. I want to get a notebook to put them in and highlight the ones that I can have. I am so organized some times.

Sorry that you went up a bit. Do you think that yogurt is getting to you again. I noticed that you have brought it back in full swing. If we could just get our bodies to cooperate we would be skinny already! Many prayers for tomorrow loss!

Hey Krysta, I hope you are doing OK today. Have you already left for your trip to NC

Insert threadjack: Beth, I am not organized at all. But, man that's a great idea with the notebook. I have been considering one that would fit in my purse with recipes. But, hmm .. I might have to add something else.

Thanks Nics, Candy and Beth for showing up and supporting me, even when I barely managed to make it on today! I have been so out of sorts the past few days. I'm trying to get ready for my trip, plus I worked today, and my parents have had all these people over at their house either remodeling or doing walk-throughs as they get ready to sell it. So my time on here has been sporatic, at best!

Well, I stayed the same AGAIN today...140.4. But then I realized, as I wanted to shove everything I could get my hands on into my cakehole, that I will be starting my period in less than a week! I was so bloated today too, I'm surprised it took me so long to realize it! But, I have to say, it is nice that with the Pill, the pre-TOM symptoms didn't start showing up until ONE week before, instead of 2 weeks before like last time! So I guess I'm just going to try to ride things out for the next week or so.

With that, my menu is a MESS today. I had a protein shake for lunch, then chicken and broccoli slaw for lunch. Then I was still hungry, so 6 oz. yogurt w/ 1/2 c, strawberries. Then nuts for a snack....lots of nuts! Then another shake at work, and then I was a madwoman when I got home from work and had some almonds, 2 SF chocolates and some PB and cream cheese mixed together w/ a little Splenda. Trust me, I wanted to eat A LOT more (worse!) stuff than that! But I made it through. I will see what damage I did tomorrow, but oh well...it was eat all that or eat everything but the kitchen sink!

Well, I work in the morning tomorrow, so I won't be online until the afternoon. But I will check in, I promise! And I'm sorry things are so crazy for me right now...as if you can't tell just in the disorganization of my posts! Hugs to you all and I will see you tomorrow!

PS~Say some prayers for me that I will be able to pull everything together and have a successful house hunting trip. I'm very stressed about it right now.

Don't worry about it girl! We all have times like this! I have found myself much more hungry than normal as well. Maybe it's the moon!

Sometimes I think our bodies want a little more than our strict diet. It just might be the thing that starts you losing again. We have to listen to them occassionally!

If you are stressing, maybe you need to take some time and go exercise. I know I stress a lot when I have got a trip coming up. Right now I am stressing because our best friends are coming next week to visit. They have never been to our new house, and so I just have to have everything perfect.

Keep in touch. I will pray that the munchies leave soon and you will be better in control. Although you are doing so well with not eating off your plan. You are just snacking more and that is not much to worry about! When are you leaving again?

I think your scale is just being mean...tortuing you with that 140.4 ...but you know what?....you are most probably going to see 138 or 137 and just bypass that darn 139 anyways ...can you tell that i still am anti -scale

Actually hun when you really look at it, your choices were not quite that bad...I am really proud of you...The Kry i knew of long ago would have indulged in some turtles or some other store bought crap..or just fall off the wagon......but your choices were good ...just a little more than you normally eat....I am sure IF you did any damage...which I doubt.. it will be quickly rectified once your hormones are back to normal
