Candy, so glad you made that goal, girlie! You are already a very pretty woman and in just a short time you will be drop dead gorgeous! KUTGW

As far as the book goes, what helped me the most was Atkins saying my weight wasn't my fault at all. He lays it all out as to what society has done to us, what the American Heart Association has done, ect... The book will not only help you thru the jouney with directions but will also lift your self esteem.

I am sorry you are feeling crappy. Maybe time to visit the Doc?

I am glad I met my first goal. I am still not feeling "great", but I feel like I am on an upward swing now (I hope). I actually have dropped another pound this morning. Obviously I will have to stay under 20 carbs, and hopefully still lose. I am just concerned about inches, etc. I am not measuring, I am just going to judge by my clothes. They do NOT feel any looser. DH's britches are falling off him. He has dropped 15-18 lbs. I can look at him and tell.
I honestly don't care what the # of the scale is. I just want to wear normal clothes ... not PLUS size. Today is a snow day, with no snow -- LOL.

Hi Candy....told ya I was sneaking peeks at your journal or did you see what I posted to you in the coconut oil thread?

You are doing a great job and so enjoy here at LCF hope you plan to stay a good long time.

The reason for finally posting something here is very few subject my dander up but carbs in black does. Now you say you listened to the "food police" but there are plenty of us who are not policemen who know in our hearts that coffee has no carbs. The USDA agrees. Fitday has always had it wrong and many know this.

Please Candy take this with the love from heart that is meant here. It is fine with me if you choose to count carbs in coffee and I never argue or bat and eye at those who do (instant DOES have 1 carb per spoonful btw).

Keep up the good work Candy. You have been special to me since the day you arrived

Here is what USDA has to say about brewed coffee. Take it or leave but you bet I'll take it

Monet, thanks for putting the recipe here (so I don't have to look for it).

Becky, thanks for your KIND words ... I don't want to count those carbs ... I am just looking for justification . I think the USDA works for me. I did not see what you posted on the coconut thread, but I shall go and search for it.
Thank you my friend and I wanna go to Vegas.

Tonia and Lisa thanks for the cartoons !! Well, I am posting a few things here before I get in the bed. I have a lot on my mind, and 2 prayer requests that I will share before I close.

Todays Food:
B= 3/4 pot of coffee w/sugar free liquid sweetner (No cream)
3 scrambled eggs w/ a little shredded cheese
3 small sausage patties

L = pork rinds dipped in Kroger Bacon Ranch dressing

S = beef roast (small portion)
1/4 cup of leftover slaw
1/4 cup of leftover faux potatoes
1/4 cup of broccoli casserole

I have had several Diet Mt. Dew's today and several glasses of Diet Cherry/Vanilla Dr. Pepper. ONE 20 oz bottle of water -- gotta get back into the hang of this.

Total carbs (without coffee ) = 20 carbs

I hope the scales keep going down.

I got a little down in the dumps tonight (worse than I have been). I have a lot on me. I went thread hopping and started reading about members of LCF that had passed away. Some weren't discovered until someone noticed several days later that they had not posted. That bugged me, and of course I just sat here and cried.

Right now, I am missing one of my friends that I have met on here. She is new just like me, but hasn't posted in 7 days -- she had the flu, the last time she posted. I am worried sick about her.

There was another friend I was missing (MY FIRST LCF). I did find out that she had a car wreck and is OK.

So, I just don't want to not check on someone. I love all of my friends here.

I need my friends right now, I have 2 prayer requests.
1. I hurt my back today and it is actually giving me some fits now.
2. I have to take DD to the pediatrician for a sick visit/extensive consulation on Monday at 3:50 EST. I really don't want to share all the details of her "symptons", in case I am over reacting. But, I am worried sick. NO one but DH and I know that we are going on Monday. Don't want to alarm anyone if it's not necessary. Plus keep us in your prayers on Monday.

For now, I am going to bed -- gonna try and ease up my back.

Toot, I think I injured my back a little over a year ago -- which I think actually aggravated a childhood injury. When I was seven or so, I was swinging on a tire swing and got thrown off. I landed on a concrete block and the corner went into my back. It didn't puncture the skin, but it hurt like hell. My step-father took me to the chiropractor and he said all was fine. I am just not sure he could have seen nerve "damage" .... I got an adjustment and had to go for several weeks. There is a spot on my back that has always been numb. Then last year, I slipped on some water at a big boat show and landed flat on my back. I was really sore and achy from that.
In the past six months, when I open a door or something with my left arm (or use the left side of my body) the area around the numb spot feels like a KNIFE stabbing into me. And I get a cold water flowing sensation inside that area. Yesterday I slipped going down our front stairs, I grabbed hold of the rail and braced with the left side of my body and evidently twisted wrong. The pain was only intense for a few moments but it almost made me throw up. Now, I can't lie in certain positions or twist at all.

Lisa, I know I should go to the doctor. But, I am so far behind since we had a snow day yesterday. I actually have to travel today, but I am not sure I can do it. I am going to the office (running late) but I may check with my clients and see if I can postphone the travel til Monday. Gotta make sure my production department can wait until Monday too.

Lisa
, as far as pork rinds ... this is the first time (this time) since I have eaten pork rinds on this WOE (since 1/2). OMG, I gained 3 lbs overnight. It is the only thing that I can think of that caused it. When I used to eat tortilla chips (on a "normal" WOE), I would swell and gain 3lbs overnight. It was water. I could take a water pill and drop it overnight. I am guessing it was the sodium in the chips. I am guessing the pork skins are loaded in sodium. Do you think that was what caused my gain ???

OR could it be the 3 Aleve I took last night ... for pain and possible back inflammation.

Beckster, thanks again for your kind words. Yep, I read the cheapskate low carb thread yesterday and got some great ideas. Is that the thread you are referring to ? It's about 9 pages long.

Dixie
.... It made me feel great to see you had posted when I logged on this morning. You have had me so worried. I am glad you are back and OK. You are still in my thoughts and prayers.
