Hi Candy!
Sorry to barge in like this but....

I have always a BIG fan of water. A few years ago while deer hunting in deep snow with a friend I found out the importance of water. We were walking back to our hunting spot in at least a foot of snow. He all of a sudden fell down into the snow in pain, holding on to his thigh and then started rubbing it. I ask him what his problem was and he said he had got a bad leg cramp. I found this odd since he was younger, lighter, and more healthy then I and I told him that. He said true but you have been drinking water all day, I've been drinking pop. The water hydrates your muscles and helps prevent injury. I pulled a hamstring at a softball game one hot summer night. It hurt so bad that it brought tears to my eyes. After that, I drink at least 32oz of water before any physical activity and any time in between. I haven't pulled a hamstring since.

Anyway, I wanted to give you my thoughts on water. My Dad gets real sick of me hammering the water pep-talk home! I tell him it's better to get up to pee in the middle of the night then to wake up to a charlie horse.

Take care,
Phil

Hey Candy!! Just stopping by... I really don't know what to say since I know nothing about beta blockers or edema... But, I do agree with Phil. Water really is important. The other day when I went to exercise I nearly died and was in pain - I know it was because I hadn't had any water. It also has a huge effect on my energy level. If I'm dehydrated at all, I am extremely fatigued - and fussy. I can put a 2 year old to shame.

Ok, I have decided to go back on the beta blocker (don't you just love my medical degree ? Dixie, I know you will tell me you told me so , and you are right). I have never really liked the BP machines at stores, they are not real accurate, but they can be a good indicator. My BP was fairly high tonight at Kroger. So, it's either risk something happening or go back on the meds. I pray it won't mess me up, but I have to this -- no choice.

I won't be around tomorrow, we have opening weekend for the Shrine Circus. Randy makes cotton candy and I make popcorn. One good thing, is that they have homeade fresh pork skins and boild peanuts.

I was pleased with the scales this morning as well. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Candy, Mr. TT also has to take blood pressure meds--beta blockers. Of course he is a man and they lose easier but it did not stop his loss. I also took blood pressure meds at one time--. The good news is that if your blood pressure became high after a weight gain often it will decrease as you lose. Mr. TT never got off of his but I was able to. I hope you will be able to ditch them one day too. Glad to see the scales being kind! Girl, you are the QUEEN of water weight! WOW.

I must second this. I was painting the living room and had such an awful cramp in my foot that went up my leg. I couldn't walk it off and it just wouldn't go away. I realized I'd hardly had any water to drink because I had been so busy all day. Drank 20 ounces of water and the cramp immediately disappeared. Amazing.

Good morning Candy! Had to share with you that once again I fell into a garbage pit by trying to reduce fats. I used Helman's reduced fat mayo to make rev rolls. And I smeared the rev rolls with more mayo for burgers and sandwiches. I went up my usual 2 lbs--no biggie--but then went up 2 more! A dear friend pointed out that the second ingriendient is the dreaded corn syrup... When will I ever learn to read those labels? It sounded good at 1 carb and only 20 calories per serving. So here I go again with the never ending battle, lol. Still, it's a beautiful day--a brand new day and each day gives us another chance to live. All is not lost.

How are you this beautiful Sunday?

Morning all ...... I didn't take the camera to the circus cause the battery was dead, and my ditzy self failed to charge it Friday night. My cousin is the photo queen so I knew she would take pics of Hannah when they showed up to ride. Ha !! her battery was dead too. So, I will have to take pics next Saturday.

My fingers are soooo sore and cut from forming popcorn boxes and then scooping the popcorn in and sealing them. The salt from the popcorn gets in the cuts and burns.

I am going to beat Randy. The guys in his group make cotton candy so he gets red SUGAR all over every stitch of him. Normally he takes his clothes off on the porch .......... NOPE, he didn't and I was irritated. Hello, we already have an ant issue, so let's just feed them.

I stayed on plan all day yesterday -- that included a breakfast buffet at Ryans, lunch and dinner at the circus. I lived life and there were choices for me .... those are always nice days.

The scales were good to me again this morning. I think there might be something to adding the beta blocker back and taking the fluid pill e/o day.

I need to clean this house today and cook some meals for this week today.
But, I am sooo tired. It was 2AM when we got in. Randy and Hannah are still in the bed. I am up because my back is killing me and Hannah kept pushing her feet into it. Just sitting here drinking coffee, trying to get awakend and energized. But so far, I ain't feeling it.

I want to thank everyone who takes the time to stop by and read my journal. You will never know how much of a blessing you are in my life.
