I am thinking positive and hoping to be back to at least the 233 in the morning.
Monet, I think it is great that she called you. Hopefully things will start moving in the right direction and you can see her soon. ![]() |

Cravings went away ... now that I just added some of that old coconut oil to this coffee. They were getting better. I didn't go off plan, but went a little over on carbs. Lisa said it was cool

Good morning Candy and friends! Candy, I hope you had a great weigh in today! You may just surprise yourself with how much you can really eat and still lose. This is all a big experiment for everyone. FYI--I have been a really good girl for 2 days now. My binge sent me from 157.5 to 159.5 but today I sit at 158.5 so I am undoing the damage. Yes, we all struggle and yes, we probably always will. But the efforts are soooo worth it!

'We Just Don't Eat Sugar And White Flour'
Published: Apr 21, 2007 Height: 5 foot 7 Starting weight: 263 Current weight: 158 Why I did it: I developed high blood pressure and had to go on medication. I also developed high cholesterol and was on medication for that, too. I couldn't clean my own house. I had to hire somebody to do it for me. I couldn't go shopping for very long because I would get what I call "store sick," where I got nauseated and weak and had to lie down. I felt miserable. But it wasn't until my mother-in-law took a picture of me one day that it sent me over the edge. I knew I was big, but I didn't know I was that big. I quit weighing myself a long time ago because I thought I had already maxed out. I decided it was time to weigh myself. I did, and I cried. She did me a favor. How I did it: I got on the computer and found LowCarbFriends.com, and I joined and started the Atkins diet the next day (April 2004). The weight just started coming off. I would eat bacon and eggs for breakfast with sliced tomatoes. For lunch, I would have a salad with full-fat blue cheese and some kind of meat. For dinner, I would have meat and a couple of low-carb vegetables. I made a lot of casseroles and used cheese and heavy creams. I even learned how to make chocolates and stuff. The Web site has over 3,500 recipes, and I just started getting into it. We didn't suffer. I was really surprised. It was much easier than I thought it would be even though it took time to get all the weight off. The diet itself was really easy, though. We just don't eat sugar and white flour. That's the whole deal. When you move through the four phases of the Atkins diet, you add back everything except for those two items. People laughed at us for being on "the heart-stopper diet," saying, "You think you're going to eat that and lose weight?" But we did. I visited the LowCarbFriends' chat room about four times a day and met people who had already lost weight and could steer me the right way. They would say try this and try that. They were a lot of support. And it was free! Hurdles: I stalled out on Atkins after losing 50 pounds. I didn't realize it at the time, but I needed to lower my fat content. It was a matter of not wanting to give up bacon. Instead I went on The Kimkins Diet which focused on low calorie, low fat and low carb. It was hard. I would do Kimkins for a week, then switch back to Atkins for a couple of weeks, and I was able to maintain my loss. I did that for the last 40 pounds. Going the distance: I went from a size 44 to a 10-12! I'm still on the diet and will be for the rest of my life. I would like to take it down to 150, but my doctor doesn't think I should. He says I'm fine where I'm at and to quit fighting it. My blood pressure is 111/66 with no medications. My cholesterol is perfect with no medications. I'm off everything except vitamins. The doctor says I could end up with more fat pockets. I'm going to mesotherapy treatments to blast them in the thigh area. Best advice: Go register at LowCarbFriends.com. Look at the before and after pictures and see that it can be done. It can. I was most impressed when I saw that. I thought, "Look, these are real people." And I really got the best support from them. They usually have a gathering every year, and I went last year to Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Now I spend a lot of time at LowCarbFriends.com trying to help others. My nickname is Tippytoes, in case anyone sees me online. I thought I would tippy-toe in and see what all the hype is, and here I still am. |

Well it has taken me a while, but I am finally caught up on your journal! Whew! It is good to be back. I am sorry to find you sick at the end of catching up! Hope you feel better soon! I really missed you! You will have to read up on my horrible week I had with the scales. It seems like it hit every one that I talk to on here! I realized just how precious your support has been to me! It is good to have friends to help you along the way! Take care of yourself!

Just popping in ... I have thrown up most of the day. As long as I don't move, it's not so bad. No pain anywhere. It's really odd.
