I don't care what the scale says as long as:
1. I can bend over and touch my toes
2. I look like a normal person
3. I can shop in the regular size clothing section
4. I can give Hannah a bath without "dying"
5. I can take a bubble bath.

You hit the nail on the head AT SOME POINT THE SCALE WILL DROP....our bodies just have to re-adjust there set point.

Some people are lucky and lose steadily and others like me: get the WOOSH FREEZE...WOOSH, FREEZE, UP, DOWN, UP cycle
it can be very frustrating and in the past i would always blow it and fall off the wagon during the UP DOWN cycle ........I believe that is why Dr Atkins says it is good to take your measurements....and he is sooo right...cause this month my measurements kept me from losing my sanity

So are you saying if you drink too much water, the stick won't show you're in deep ketosis even if you are?

Hey Candy, just stopping in to check on you! Lisa's right, you are WAYY too popular! I saw your posts about the flax muffins...I can't eat flax anymore...it gives me SEVERE reflux. But before that started happening, I went through a phase where I made them all the time and they are really good if you make a spread of cream cheese, vanilla and splenda. You can even fold in a little whipped cream to make it fluffier. It's like cream cheese frosting!

Hey Candy Girl!! You rock!
I can't answer any of your questions about this woe... but I can suggest that you don't have to be all-or-nothing. You can vary your carb count. Maybe go back to 20 or less for a week or two then do a week of higher carbs. Or even vary from day-to-day a lower carb day then a higher carb day. I find this really works well for me - varying the carb count from day-to-day. Some days are much lower in carbs than others. It keeps my body guessing. But...I am still a complete beginner so

Hi Candy. I too hope you have a great day after all!

I have to elaborate more on the weight/danger zone I told you about before. I said I have a weight span between 158 and 160. I tend to fluctuate back and forth. Remember I told you one gain is OK but a gain on a gain is bad? This just happened to me. Today I weighed 161.5. Not good... Means I am in trouble, or the danger zone. TOM is lurking but even so I should not go over 160. So, I had to examine all new foods in the last week. I started making revolutionary rolls. I used fat free cream cheese, eggs and seasonings with a tad of baking powder. Nope, I see nothing there. So I opened my fridge and there sat my new coffee creamer... Which I have used daily for a week or so now...

Sugar Free
Halzelnut
International Delight
Made with Splenda...
1 tbsp = 20 calories and 1 carb...

Now, this appears harmless enough, right? Well, here is the label on the back: Water, palm oil, CORN SYRUP, MALTODEXTRIN, ect...

Problem identified, lesson learned. Now you would think as long as I have been at this I would have read the label a little closer but I did not.

No real harm~I'll get it right back off again. But Candy I really just wanted to share this with you. Hope it helps.

Hey Candy - I tried to quickly scan your journal to see if anyone posted this, but with the Ketostix - as long as they change - it's all good.. you don't have to be deep purple to show you are in ketosis cause like Lisa said, the fat in your diet and drinking loads of water throws this off - but think of it like this -you can't just be a "little bit" pregnant - you either ARE or you AREN'T - so as long as it's turning color - you're in ketosis - that's what someone else on here told me and I believe it!!

Yep, gotta really read the back no matter what the front of the package says. I hate being tricked, lol! But those scales sure will call it, won't they? AHHHHHHHHH!
