Garlic Parmesan Flax Seed Crackers

In my oven it took about 20 minutes for them to get crisp.

Garlic Parmesan Flax Seed Crackers

Recipe By : about.com
Serving Size : 24 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Appetizers/ Snacks/ Beverages

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 cup flaxseed meal
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese -- grated
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water

Heat oven to 400 F.

1. Mix all ingredients together.

2. Spoon onto sheet pan which is covered with a silicon mat or greased parchment paper.

3. Cover the mixture with a piece of parchment or waxed paper.

Even out the mixture to about 1/8 inch. I find a straight edge, like a ruler, works well, though you can use a rolling pin or wine bottle too. The important thing is not to let it be too thin around the edges or that part will overcook before the center firms up. So after you spread it out, go around the edges with your finger and push the thin part inwards to even it up.

4. Bake until the center is no longer soft, about 15-18 minutes. If it starts to get more than a little brown around the edges, remove from oven. Let cool completely - it will continue to crisp up.

5. Break into pieces.

The whole recipe is 6 grams of effective carbohydrate plus 35 grams of fiber.

NOTES : I rolled these out with a rolling [in between 2 sheets of parchment paper. I then scored the crackers using a pizza wheel so they would break apart easily. I had to bake these for about 20 minutes to get them uniformly crisp.

I am thinking these would be awesome !!! I don't have baking soda or powder, so I can't make the muffins.

I've heard those are good. What are the stats on the flaxmeal? How many carbs? Is it all fiber?

Just read in DANDR about taking fiber daily ... so I had to go get some. He listed flax as acceptable.

Here's what the box says:

You're doing excellent! Especially being worried about Hannah and all (hope she's better?) You have been one of my biggest inspirations. The one thing I appreciate most about you is that even tho you're really busy and everything doesn't go smooth as silk in your life, you never fail to find the time to be kind and supportive to SO MANY PEOPLE! I sure don't know how you do it girl, but you supply so much motivation for me... just thank you so much for being you! And I agree with everyone else, you WILL meet goal KUTGW!

Today's Menu
The taco stuff looks like massive quantities but I had it for lunch and dinner.
No veggies today ... I know it's not good.

Hannah is moving a little .... but not to what I think she should be. I have had so many friends send messages, emails and phone calls. No one wants to scare me, but I don't think I could be scared anymore that I am already.

It might not seem like a big issue about what Hannah is going through. She is only 5, and this SHOULD NOT be happening. I want to get her cleaned out, then I want to find out WHY it happened, so that it doesn't happen again.

I also pray that other things crossing our minds are not what is happening here.

Absolutely I think even with 2 weeks with no losses... REMEMBER... this is still about the averages and overall movement of your weight... You are down nearly 10 pounds in a month... That's a d@mn good average!!! ... My only tidbit of advise would be to keep things as simple as you can while you're still in the losing phases... This little lull is NOTHING to worry about!!! You are doing fantastic!!! Heck, by now I know I only really lose 2-weeks in a month anyways... with the pre-TOM bloat and then TOM being here those two weeks are shot!!! I just stay the course and know that things will even out with the following two weeks!!! So, again... the averages are all good!!!

Why can't we take our own advice Would help so much, wouldn't it...?

Thanks Mel. When you refer to simple, do you mean carb count and induction level foods ? Or no frankfoods (which is what I am thinking).

I am realizing many things about this WOE. I was reading my book last night and discovered some things that might be stalling me.

1. I am on a beta blocker and an occassional diuretic.
2. I have not been counting carbs in my coffee nor the splenda.

Dr. Atkins stated in the
