The MOM is moving things right along .... and I meant no slight to Lisa. You are both Queen of the day in my eyes. She is in LOVE and you make a magical concoction ...

Today's Menu
I might have screwed this up. But, I tried counting the NET carbs today. So 37carbs MINUS 17 fiber = 20 carbs (and I am at the 25 level). We will see what happens.

Question to my journal groupies ??? Do YOU count all carbs, or just NET ?

Oh yeah Monet, I love red onions ... much better than regular. I did not realize the carb count was lower So, do you use red onions in your taco soup ? I have this "issue" with chopping onion, so I get the frozen already chopped. I have gotten fresh already chopped, but it's much pricier than the frozen (which is much pricier than fresh ).

here you go

Magical Peanut Butter Cookies
(Recipe courtesy Paula Deen)

Ingredients:
1 cup peanut butter, creamy or crunchy
1 1/3 cups baking sugar replacement (recommended: Splenda)
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instruction:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a large baking sheet. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, 1 cup sugar replacement, the egg, and vanilla, and stir well with a spoon. Roll the dough into balls the size of walnuts. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. With a fork, dipped in sugar replacement to prevent sticking, press a crisscross design on each cookie. Bake for 12 minutes, remove from the oven, and sprinkle the cookies with some of the remaining sugar replacement. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
they are addictive i warn you I don't make them anymore.

Hey Candy!!! I count all carbs... and nowadays keep mine between 25-35 most of the time with pretty consistent losses (usually... the last few months is NOT a good barometer)...

As for the onions... I do use the red ones in my taco soup. I also hate choppng them... so I get the pre-chopped ones from Publix when they're on sale (usually the containers are like 2 for $4 or something) and then I'll freeze them myself for later use...

I've never been a groupie before, I feel special.

I count all carbs. Lately have been between 25 and 30. Ocasionally I can go up to 35-40 and still be ok. I've been stuck on the same numbers, but am losing some inches and there were ketones in my test results, so it's working, just gotta work on that Patience thing.

Candy, so glad you are feeling better. Had to take some MOM myself last night...miserable! I mainly count all carbs. When it comes to things that are not "real" food...I count net. Like the Atkins shakes & bars. When I go out to eat, I will look at the net carbs for menu choices. I am back and forth on this I guess. I never realized it until you ask. Hope you have and the rest of the groupies have a great day!!

When the food is real food I count net but if it is a product (like Atkins shakes, ect) I count all without any fancy subtracting. I avoid most sugar alcohols but if I do have any I don't subtract those either.
