JONAH'S GRANNY WEIGHTLOSS ADVENTURE
I'm a happily married mother of three daughters and granny to a five year old boy (Jonah) and two year old girl (Anleigh). I work as an Office Manager/Corporate Secretary for a large commercial roofing contractor. My husband retired from Verizon as SC State Manager after 25 years. He chose real estate as his second career. Our oldest daughter, Robyn, lives in Denver, CO and I consider her a career girl (single). She has a very good position in the Corporate Office of Red Robin. She does have a boyfriend who lives in Austin, TX and I keep my fingers crossed something good will come of the relationship. She seems very happy. Our second daughter, Caroline (Carrie) is the mother of our two grandchildren. They along with husband, Mike live in Hickory, NC. Carrie is a Young Life Area Director and Mike wears many hats including Mr. Mom, Student, LaCrosse Coach, YMCA Asst. Director, Graphics Designer, music writer and singer (has recorded one CD). Before they moved from NJ he was a Youth/Music Minister. Our youngest daughter, Laura, still hasn't decided what she is going to do with her life. She has completed a couple of years of college, works at a bar, and is going thru a separation and possible divorce from her husband.
Anyway, I've been a "yo-yo" dieter for a long time. I never was real obese but often got too heavy for someone 5'2". My heaviest was 166 and I was not pregnant. The first time I can remember dieting was at 15 years old when I weighed about 130 pounds. I managed to stay around 120 pounds most of my young adult life. I did get down to 96 pounds after I had my last child because I thought I was getting too heavy (125 pounds). I joined Jenny Craig to get it off. After I hit my 40's I realized I was packing on the pounds quick thru carless eating, my age, and my craving for junk foods. I was never a big eater, just a bad eater. I ended up at my heaviest ever; 166 pounds. I then took it off doing low fat and weighed around 105. I kept it off for a few years but started putting it back on around 2000. It took me until January of 2003 to gain back to 160. At that point I started lowcarb. It worked great for me along with regular exercising. I dropped as low as 91 pounds with a ruptured appendix. I hurt my back at the gym one day and it was downhill from there. I developed all kinds of back/digestive issues. I lost interest in my weight and just wanted to feel better again. I had never really been sick before and it sent me into depression on top of everything else. Anyway, I have gained up to 128 pounds so here I go again with the intention of losing it one more time and keeping it off. Wish me luck. Thanks for listening (reading). Jonah's Granny or Ann

Good luck to one of my favorite girls here. I have no doubt that you will get the weight off and be wearing your teeny clothes in time for summer. Probably even before that.
You know what works and you also know you don't have to weigh 91 pounds again. Eat your favorite LC foods and the weight will take care of itself. Loved your personal biography ... I knew most of it but needed the refresher course. Had been wondering about Laura. Is she still at home? to you and here's to a great few months of losing for both of us. ![]()
