I try to be around for things like that, today however she was taking herself off to see the dentist all alone, just for a check up but still...

Feeling guilty today as I have eaten only Frankenfoods. One shake and 2 Atkins bars.

Now going to give DH a risotto (and I love risotto!) and something made from ham and cheese and something for supper. Left 12 eggs behind in fridge in London. Doh!

Pleased with myself on the exercise front though, 2 hours in the gym this morning, Body Pump and aerobics.

Horrid weather, I agree. We were nearly blown away beside the river today.

We have have had friends stay since Friday, they have gone now so things are getting back to normal. Since they left the washing machine has been going non stop. I've even been ironing which I hate.

I had a great meal out on Friday evening, scallops with black pudding folleowed by Lamb with cabbage. Fantastic little restaurant just a stroll away from our home here in Devon.

Then yesterday we ate out at lunchtime a lovely spinach, bacon, parmesan and avocado salad. Last night I cooked a pheasant casserole with mashed celeriac and broiled broccoli.

I have fallen right off the wagon on the alcohol though. Champagne, wine, Kahlua with cream, how bad am I? I can't possibly weigh myself tomorrow.

I have an appointment with a personal trainer at the gym tomorrow who is going to give my DH and me some exercises to prepare us for our skiing holiday! He is a keen skier himself so I hope 2 sessions for £60 will be worth it.

Next week has got to better than this one.

ahh the weekend sounds lovely and sublime.

I have never cooked pheasant, how do you prepare it?

I think the personal trainer is a good idea. Let us all know how you get on

I did a very simple casserole with onions and garlic, lots of port in with the stock, then added chestnuts and the zest and juice of 2 oranges. I think it should have cooked a bit longer it was tasty but still a bit chewy... I cooked way too much so I have cooked the leftovers for another hour today.

Later I am going to take it off the bones too, to make it easier to eat.

Oh I forgot to say that my FIL took us out for lunch today and I had wonderful sea bass fillets, steamed I think and served with pesto. It was lovely and came with just some rocket and a little deep fried onion.

Gym with a PT today trying to get ready for the skiing next month. Hard but useful.

Bacon and eggs for brunch, Shiritake noodles with a vegetable sauce, not very low carb perhaps but I felt the need for veggies. Red wine too! Oh well.

Step class with awesome instructor this morning. His choreography is wonderful but I get lost all the time. I am still getting a great workout though. Then I did 500 metres on the rower as instructed yesterday and lots of lunges, front, side and back.

Home to a chocolate shake and the remains of a the pheasant carcasses from the casserole I made over the weekend. Took me ages to eat and I know it is all good protein. Not hungry now so don't know what to prepare for dinner!

I am reading this book, 'The Faces of Angels', and I can't put it down, so I haven't done much else at all today. Bad me!

Weekend???? It is only Wednesday!

I had a great day today.

A Body Attack class this morning, well it wasn't great exactly because it was really too high impact for me. I need to be fitter but it is the impact that I find hardest.

The PT on Monday, gave me quite a lot of upper body work and my chest is sore. My boobs, 32 G, were so painful bouncing around during the class, I had to hug them. Anyway, the class wasn't a pleasure which is unusual for me.

Tomorrow I have a Combat class but first I must do some more of the new exercises. That is the whole point of paying the PT, I want to hurt now, not when I am on my skiing holiday. I know I will fall and be bruised but I don't have to have all this extra Oww from muscles that haven't been used!!!!!

Then we went to Plymouth to get my old camcorder fixed, then to a country pub for lunch, okay burger and salad, diet coke. On to Totnes, to get some old reel to reel tapes of DH as Othello in the 60's put onto DVD. Also some spoken word cassettes and my cousin singing onto CDs.

Finally to a cabinet maker in a little village called Chudliegh to order a console table for our guest bedroom in London. He made us a dining room table in 1995 and he still remembered us!

Finally our neighbours came over for dinner tonight. Last of that pheasant casserole, even better now. I gave them fresh figs, yoghurt and honey for desert, I had a bit of yoghurt, Splenda and cocoa! Too much wine again.

The light driving around Dartmoor was stunning today. There were black storm clouds ahead of us but we were bathed in a golden light from the low winter sun. Magical.

I have neglected this journal!

Had too much food over the weekend and too much wine.

I was on a shopping trip with a friend yesterday so no workout. Ate a cooked breakfast then a frittata and salad for lunch.

Yesterday and today I have stopped the drink but yesterday evening I ate far too much curry, so much that I felt uncomfortable all night.

Today would have been risky at the gym the way my bowels were reacting so I attacked the house which was desperate for a good clean. I managed on 2 shakes some cold lamb and some stuffed chillies.

Hope to get to the gym tomorrow morning then driving to Milton Keynes to see a friend in concert at the Stables. He is a Folk singer songwriter, Steve Knightley. We will stay overnight with a friend and drive back the next day.

Just realised I fibbed on the other thread! I only wibbled 3 days out of 5!

Still not really pleased with me eating, it is low carb but not low enough to get rid of the wobbly bits I am still carrying around from Xmas.

Okay my cholesterol is 7 (273). We count it differently in the UK. My LDL is 3.6 (140.4).

My doctor has put me on Lecithin and having looked at Atkins Nutrition I am adding Pantothenic acid, Guggul lipids, vitamin C and I good fish oil with omega 3, 6, and 9. Will be getting some Inosetol too.

I am starting this evening with them and taking them with me to Australia. I will have my blood tested again once I am home, mid April.

I will not give up on Atkins, I have been allowing too much carb creep. For instance when I am offered cheese when I am out i have been allowing oatcakes! One maybe okay or possibly 2, but I just forget that I am eating them.

So I am keeping a food diary and I will try to eat healthy Low Carb foods and be careful with my alcohol intake too! Plenty of fish, and although I will eat fat and chicken skin, I will not 'pig out'.

Yesterday I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for brunch and a chicken and rocket salad with olive oil and a little Caesar salad dressing. Two cappuccinos and water.

Today I have had a Tesco chocolate shake, a coffee, a handful of walnuts and will be having haddock with a spinach salad, dressed as before. Will be drinking water and taking my supplements.

I'll not be able to come here every day as I will be in Australia.

I am in ketosis and feeling very confident. My full blood test details are coming to me by post, I really hope they arrive before I leave on Monday, as I don't know my triglyceride levels yet.

Coffee in bed, thanks DH.

Ham salad, diet coke and a cappuccino for lunch.

2 sliced of grilled Haloumi cheese and some greek 'dips', not much, followed by grilled fish and salad. Diet coke and 2 small glasses of champagne, to start off DD's honeymoon!

Off to take all my supplements now! Yuk.

Kissa, are you still checking your journal? I was thinking about you last night at my vday dinner. DH had a Bass ale and I was thinking about when I was in England in college and we drank shandys. So, DH got some Bass ale today and I'm going to use some diet 7up and make a shandy. DH and I love the pub down from our kids' karate place. We stop there for a beer sometimes when the kids are at class. I wonder if they make shandys. I'll have to ask the next time we go there.

I was just wondering if you checked your journal because I didn't want to load Tova's up with my chit chat.

I really enjoyed reading your journal. You workout a lot. I need to start going to the gym on a regular basis. I just walk my dog almost every day. I need to do that more and for a longer walk for me and her too.
